We'd love to meet you and show you around the house. We have lived in Ann Arbor for a combined 25 years, so we've got this hosting thing down.
If we're not able to meet you, we have a keypad deadbolt on the house so you can arrive at any time.
The Old West Side of Ann Arbor is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the state. Our street has very little traffic and our neighbors are super friendly. There is a large park at the end of our street and an evening walk through the charming neighborhood is always fun.
Ann Arbor has a very active bus system. Many residents commute to work on bikes and our house is within walking distance to most of Ann Arbor's attractions. ZipCar is also available in Ann Arbor, and there is a ZipCar home about a half a mile from the house.
No smoking indoors of any kind.
Kelly and Mike were great hosts. They provided very clear instructions on how to find and get into the Fungalo. Kelly also provided us with an awesome set of dinner recommendations for our first night there (after an 11 hour drive from Boston, this was really appreciated!).
The Fungalo was an awesome place - even better than described! Keurig coffee, really cool decor and furnishings. The have a great collection of glasses that were really cool.
We travelled from California for a few days so my daughter could visit the University of Michigan. We had a great time in Ann Arbor and were very happy with our accommodations at Mike and Kelly's "Fun Bungalow". The neighborhood was sweet and quiet and a nice stroll to downtown. The house was well equipped with everything you need for a stay and more. Very clean and yes, a great kitchen! Mike and Kelly were great hosts. The best part . . . upon leaving, my daughter realized she had left her coat inside the house and we had already locked the key inside, were in the taxi and on our way to catch the train to Chicago. We called Mike who went to the house, grabbed the coat and drove it to the train station just in time! Wow! Above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you Mike and we look forward to visiting Ann Arbor and staying in your place again!
One of the best streets in one of the best neighborhoods in Ann Arbor. The house is well stocked, nicely furnished with plenty of modern comforts (i.e. Keurig with lots of cups, fast wifi, etc.)
The owners are super nice and very responsive.
The bungalow was perfect for our little group's mid-winter visit to Ann Arbor. The pictures were complete accurate - it comfortably fit 4 adults. The living room was spacious and the kitchen had all the supplies we needed for cooking our own meals. They had also kindly stocked up on teas and coffee for our stay. :)
Though they weren't there when we first arrived, the instructions sent via email made check-in a breeze. Mike and Kelly communicated super quickly throughout our stay. And they even left me a little note as to where I could get the best donuts in town (Washtenaw Dairy).
I'd definitely recommend this place if you're staying in Ann Arbor!
My family and I had an excellent stay at Mike and Kelly's Fungalow. First and foremost, Mike and Kelly were excellent hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, and always provided quick responses whenever we contacted them. The house was clean and well-kept, and had a bunch of useful appliances. The Roku was super clutch since there was a white-out across Ann Arbor while we were visiting. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, and is about a 20 minute walk to downtown Ann Arbor, which is nice. I would definitely recommend the Fungalow to anyone visiting Ann Arbor!
Mike and Kelly were very welcoming and accommodating for our needs! They were friendly, attentive and left clear descriptions and directions for things regarding the house. Everything you would need during a stay was provided by the hosts! Staying at the "fungalow" really completed a great trip to Ann Arbor.
We really enjoyed staying at Mike & Kelly's place. It worked out great for myself, my husband & 2 kids. Cute house in a quiet neighborhood that's central to everything. Mike & Kelly were very responsive to questions we had and clearly wanted us to enjoy & feel comfortable during our stay.
Mike used to travel frequently for work. Kelly joins Mike on these trips whenever possible, especially if they involve sunny climates or a beach. Both of them love exploring new places. Neither one of us normally writes in the third person.
Lately the work travel has died down, which leaves us itching even more to seek new adventures.
We have recently consolidated housing but could not stand the idea of getting rid of our Ann Arbor bungalow. The quaint west side neighborhood is quiet enough for a retreat, but only 8 blocks (less than 3/4 of a mile) from all the action of downtown A2. It's a great place for our out of town visitors and anytime we need a night out in Ann Arbor. Some of our best trips have been spent in airbnb pads and we are pumped to have a place of our own to share with other travelers.
