Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We agree the position of this apartment is excellent, close to central Sydney. The good and bad points of this apartment have already been covered by previous reviewers. Although this is budget accommodation it is looking a bit tired and now looks much older and more run down (especially the bathroom) than in the photos. The place could be easily smartened up with a little more attention to things like replacing the well worn bedroom and bathroom linen and keeping the appliances in working order. Dean was always helpful and willing to assist with requests for assistance.

  • Our weekend stay at Deans apartment in Darlinghurst was perfect. Nice little place that is a cruisy walk from the city, and about 15 minute drive from Bondi. The place was cleaned just before we arrived and checking in after a long drive from Melbourne couldn't have been easier. They were only ever a phone call away but we didn't even need to call through, everything was already sorted. Perfect place for 2 to explore Sydney.

  • First off, Dean's place is in an amazing location. The number of great restaurants and coffee on the same block is stunning. A 5 minute walk from Oxford Street and it's great scene along with a 20 minute walk to the CBD, Opera House and Botanical Gardens makes it an amazing, walkable location. The apartment is adorable and comfortable held four guys there for Mardi Gras. Even the pull-out sofa bed was acceptably comfortable. As in other reviews, the wireless internet was spotty at first, but Dean hooked us up with a hotspot that we could take with us. There was some construction noise in the flat next door, but It looked to be nearly finished. I highly recommend the place for its location!

  • Dean is a responsive host and the location is unbeatable. However, if you're noise sensitive, it might be worth booking elsewhere or at least packing ear plugs since you're in the middle of Darlinghurst (i.e. you can expect to hear garbage trucks, social hum, traffic etc. in the wee hours of the morning). Pack an eye mask as well, as the bedroom blinds do little to block out the street light glare. All in all, good value for money.

  • Location is simply perfect, eventhough the lane is a bit dodgy with huge garbage containers and smels from the back of the next door restaurant. The house is indeed charming, however there were couple of little visitors (cockroaches) who kept us company..And the bathroom could use some renovation. But, then again, I guess the price wouldn't be this good.
Dean is very friendly and helpful.

  • 比较方便的位置,可以步行去很多地方。房间干净比住在酒店实用。

  • My family stayed over at Dean's house for a week and they really liked it! The place was impeccable and very well located (walking distance from everywhere in the city). Dean was very fast on answering any queries my family had! Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely refer my family/ friends to his place whenever they come to Sydney. (Note: my mom was very happy with the fresh flowers she found at the dining table).

  • Gorgeous little house in the best location!! Quick walk into the centre of the city. Buses nearby to Bondi. Couldn't ask for more! Dean was very accommodating, an awesome host :) might want to bring an eye mask though if you're sensitive to light while sleeping as there's a really bright light outside that shines into the bedroom windows. Other than that, perfect!!

  • Dean and Melissa were great hosts and very accommodating to all our needs. The house is very quaint and excellently located within the heart of Sydney, walking distance to galleries, shops and the best restaurants. It was equipped with everything you could possibly need for a short stay. It's also an extremely good deal price wise. Good to note that it is near a few restaurants with some of the noises and smells of the inner city but that's the trade off for having such a good location.
    Highly recommended.

I'm a technology founder who loves to travel with my girlfriend Melissa. We found on out latest trip to South America that Melissa in Spanish means the Honey Bee. So that nickname has stuck (excuse the pun) I guess. In Sydney we love to go out and can recommend some great places to eat or go out drinking. Our place in Darlinghurst is right in the perfect location.
