About This Listing
Welcome to a little piece of heaven in the very heart of Paris.
After 8 years living in the city of light, my husband Matteo and I found our dream home in the Parisian 5th arrondissement, within a late-19th-century haussmanian building in perfect state. We are renting a typical Parisian studio, or "Chambre de bonne", just above our appartment but with total independence.
While being at walking distance of many of the main Parisian landmarks (Notre Dame, Le Marais, Panthéon, Luxembourg Gardens, Hotel de Ville...) the studio is placed in the area of the Latin Quarter where Parisians live.
We are absolutely in love with our neighbourhood and if on top of your sightseeing, you are looking for a true local experience we will love to help you discover its delights: The local baker where you can buy warm bread all day, the artisan cheese shops, Jean's wine cave, tons of nice non-touristy restaurants with great food, one of the oldest local markets at Place Maubert three times per week, and much much more!
The studio is cozy and functional, it can comfortably host up to two guests, with a real bed that can become a double. It is located a the 6th floor of the building (no lift but after the stairs you can have that extra croissant!!). You have your own toilet and shower, with an aditional external toilet only used by another studio tenant. You have a new (and super silent) fridge, and a microwave. And of course free wifi. We live in the flat on the 5th floor so if you need anything or some advice we'll be glad to help!
For stays over one week, the price includes one cleaning per week with a change of fresh sheets and towels. If you wished to have more frequent cleaning it is possible, it will cost 15 euro per service.
Regarding check-in and check-out, official hours are after 6pm and before 12.00pm, though if our agendas and other guest's bookings allow it, we are always happy to discuss luggage drop-off or more adapted hours so you can make the most of your stay!
The sudio is connected directly by RER (parisian long-distance metro) with both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, and close to various metro lines, tons of buses and various velib stations (Paris bike renting sistem, you can get tickets even daily we'll explain this if you are interested).
We care a lot about our little studio so as you'll understand, we only accept bookings by guests with a complete profile and picture.
If you are interested in staying over or need more information get in touch and we will confirm with you the availability of our place!
Every visit to Paris is magic and we hope our 5th Heaven will make it also unforgettable!
Smoking and pets are not allowed in the studio, nor is throwing parties or bringing groups of people in. At the end of yoru stay we expect you to leave the place in order, with no dirty dishes and to throw away any litter or remaining food you bought.
In general, we would like our guests to behave with the same respect they'd like to see in people staying at their own place!
The apartment was located in a great neighbourhood & was accurate according to description. Cristina & Matteo really went above our expectations in ensuring our stay was comfortable & convenient (awesome instructions on how to get from airport to apartment etc) & great recommendations for eating, sight seeing etc. Clean, neat, comfortable & convenient is how I would describe the apartment - great fun poking head out the window to see that 'magnifique' view of the street below & Parisian rooftops above :) Thank you Matteo & Cristina. Kindest Regards, Simone & Shannon
I couldn't be happier with my experience. Christina and Matteo are the perfect hosts. They are there if you need them for anything but you still have plenty of privacy in your own studio. The apartment has every necessity including a lovely view of Parisian rooftops out the window. The location was definitely the best part. I was able to walk to all the major landmarks during my stay and the neighborhood itself has all that you need! I would recommend this airbnb to anyone!
WOW! Cristina is a 1st class host. Let's start with our post booking correspondence. Cristina and Mateo in coordinated effort provided us with all necessary travel details and check in specifics. Though our stay was very brief we felt at home. The studio is small but very typical for Parisian attic. Most importantly it is cozy and you just can not beat the location. Walking distance to Notre Dame, Luxemburg Gardens, Pantheon and more. Before we checked out we managed to meet Cristina. Super warm person, welcoming and amazingly helpful. I encourage all to stay with Cristina and Mateo when visitng Paris.
Cristina sent detailed travel and check in instructions well in advance of our trip which made our arrival a breeze. We were able to leave our bags before the official check in time which allowed us to start exploring Paris immediately. The elevator made getting our bags up 5 floors easy.
The studio was as described, and although compact, the layout made efficient use of the space. The Nespresso machine was a god send. The studio is located in an excellent neighborhood with so many sights to see in walking proximity, and metro choices close by.
Cristina happily answered our queries and freely offered additional information. Nothing was too much trouble for Cristina.
When we come back to Paris we will be looking to stay at Cristina's place again.
About the Host, Cristina
My name is Cristina, I grew up in sunny Madrid, Spain and have been living in Paris for the last 11 years. I've also spent short periods of time living in Italy and California.
I'm married to Matteo, a wonderful Italian man, whom I adore and want to grow old with. He is an engineer and manages a team in a big company. He loves scuba-diving and running marathons, and I believe he has some magical power that makes children and animals always so comfortable around him!
On my side, I love long walks, cooking, reading in a lazy Sunday afternoon just to relax and spending time with the lovely people in my life doing anything that seems fun.
Work-wise I was a designer for 10 years in the tech industry, working to discover and think about how people live, and to create new products and services that would delight them, and have a positive impact in their lives.
Two years ago I decided to focus on my art practice and I now have a wonderful studio in an old plastics factory. My main mediums are painting and drawing and I'd like to explore installation and performance work too. I also remain connected to the Parisian digital art scene by teaching experimental workshops that combine art and technology.
Matteo and I are an incurable optimists, and you'll see us smiling more often than not. We highly value honesty, respect, tolerance and courage. We enjoy being with people and are very sociable (We both speak fluent English, Spanish, Italian and French which helps when travelling) though we also relish and understand the need for moments of quietness and solitude.
When we travel we avoid doing crazy kodak-moment tourism. We'd rather see less cities or monuments and try to stay enough time in one place, so we can get a feel of it and what it has to offer and how people live there.
In 2011 we tried Airbnb for a business trip to San Francisco and have never looked back to hotels. We decided to renovate a little studio on top of our apartment. Since then have been the lucky hosts of many wonderful guests, we love meeting so many people from all over the world and feel lucky to belong to such a special community!
