Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
RUSTIC OFF THE GRID Wilderness Camping Cabin. Please read description for limitations. Just a short drive up a narrow dirt road to the parking area and a 10 min. walk along a tree covered path and you will arrive at the cabin. Jessie Bay is one of two cabins atop a hill with breath taking panoramic views of St. Mary's Bay and the small fishing village of Little River. A private place to get disconnected from busy schedules. Also see listing; "Morning Glory"

The space
There is NO RUNNING WATER OR ELECTRICITY, HOWEVER we provide container water for washing and there are battery operated lights and solar powered lights inside. Please bring your own drinking water. The road to the parking area is a little rough but is easily maneuverable with a higher riding vehicle. There is a verandah to sit and enjoy the views while you cook or to simply sit and relax. At night the solar powered LED lights come on at dusk and provide a cozy glow around the verandah. Because you are in an area with no street lights lighting is minimal.

The cabin is equipped with; small kitchen area with countertop and sink, BBQ (propane provided), Camp Stove (propane cylinder for stove not provided), table & chairs, wood stove for heat inside on cool evenings and Bunk beds (single top and bottom with sanitized covers) & one futon (unfolds to double). YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING. We do have pillows and sleeping bags available for use.

There are non-flush toilets (outhouse) onsite, a solar powered motion sensor light comes on when you approach the building after dark.

We provide some basics such as tissue in the outhouse, paper towel, dish soap, hand soap, hand sanitizer and some dishes and pots and pans.

There are SHOWER FACILITIES AVAILABLE A SHORT 5 MIN DRIVE AWAY AT A NEARBY CAMPGROUND for a fee of $2.

There are picnic tables, benches, a hammock, lawn chairs and a fire pit (campfire wood can be purchased for $4 a bundle from the caretakers)

If you feel carrying your supplies to the cabin is a little too much we can provide transportation of your supplies from the parking area to the cabin at your request.

There is also horse shoe throwing and washer toss for some outdoor gaming fun.

Guest access
There is cell signal at the site. There is no electricity so you may want to bring a battery powered charger.

We also offer free wireless internet that is powered by solar.

Other things to note
THE ROAD TO THE PARKING AREA NARROWS AS YOU ASCEND. IT IS A DIRT GRAVELLED ROAD. IF YOUR VEHICLE IS COMPACT OR LOW RIDING IT COULD BE CHALLENGING TO REACH THE PARKING AREA. THERE IS A GRASSED AREA AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL IN THE TURN WHERE YOU CAN PARK AND WALK UP.

The cabin is adequate for a maximum of 4 guests, but please note there are only two single beds (bunk beds) and one pull out that is double. You may bring our own foam mattress if desired.

You will need to bring everything you would need for camping such as; coolers, food, drinking water, cooking supplies, flash lights etc
There are no outdoor lights or street lights just the starry skies and moon above. There are solar powered mini lights around the verandah that turn on at dusk and operate for approximately 8 hours depending on the amount of sun. There are battery operated push lights inside.

I love to get away to private places and explore the local area. I am quiet, clean and respectful but also like to socialize. Currently I host two properties on Air BNB and enjoy communicating with the guests.
During your stay
I will be available by phone, text or email to answer any questions. The caretakers of the property live nearby in case of emergency or if there is a problem.

There is an information binder in the cabin which provides contact information for myself and the caretakers along with information for local places to explore and to eat
