Our time at the apartment from Matheus and Renato was as described and although we didn´t meet the both in person everything worked out very well. The flat was clean and the little balcony is perfect for a little breakfast. The street offers you many stores to buy juices, food or a strong Brazilian coffee. Obrigada!
The room and appliances are a bit worn and the pool and gym are still undergoing maintenance, but the laundry service is a big plus, the location is a block from trendy Rua Augusta and near grocery stores, botecos, and taxi stands, and it is just a ten-minute walk to Avenida Paulista and the nearest metro. Matheus is quick to respond to questions.
O Matheus foi sempre muito simpático e sempre retornou minhas mensagens com muita rapidez. Obrigada pelo carinho com que nos tratou.
Apenas sugiro que troque as fotos do site, pois estão desatualizadas.
We stayed there 2 weeks, neighbourhood is colorful, easy to take a taxi on the road, quite far to metro station (15 min. walking) , I loved the pink church near by and the bar-teatro cemeterio de automovies.
The flat and the building is cosy to stay, but not a super confort place, if you seek for it you may disappoint; but if you want to feel the 70s-80s-90s in an alternative neighbourhood its smth...
The positives are for me the balcony sees some trees and a fountain, the wardrope near by and have lots of space to fill, the wi-fi works well, and kitchen stuff is ready, the bed is confortable, the laundry service is working so good.
The negatives are for me some maintainance needed, esp. for bath, for sleeping its not super silent, some noise from the street, no air condition and the fan dont work as seen on photo, for summer or hot days can be problem, and mosquitos of Sampa!!! :) ... The service elavator sometimes wrongly goes to 12th floor slowly, instead 2th , can be freaky ! dont panic :)
The host replied all our needs and were collabrating.
For a cheaper price in center of Sampa, a place to stay ! But not for more...
We had a great time at Matheus and Renato's place in São Paulo. It was our first stop in Brazil and it gave us an easy transition into the city.
The apartment looks exactly as it does in the photos--no surprises there, and that was a good thing, as it was just what my buddy and I were hoping for.
There's 24h security at the front gate, but the neighborhood feels quite safe (the two of us walked around quite late at night and felt totally comfortable). The street the apartment is on is a fairly quiet residential street; one major street over there's a lot more night life.
Our only difficulty during the stay was with the wifi, which seemed to come and go with a mind of its own. I'm fairly resourceful on my own--reset router, modem, checked cables, verified that signal was getting to the house--but had no luck, so contacted Matheus and Renato. They got back immediately and fixed the problem for us, and did the same thing later when we encountered the same situation. Couldn't have asked for a more responsive or effective resolution.
Overall it was exactly the kind of place we were expecting, at the right price with great attention from the hosts, in a safe yet still interesting location. Recommended.

Being very passionate for travel I bumped into my first airbnb rentals when backpacking with my bf, Renato, in 2012. A few months later I decided to become a host. I take pleasure on hanging out with multicultural people and showing them around Sao Paulo and Brazil in general. I do that every time I have some spare time and get along enough with our guests.
I am fascinated by different cultures and take a great amount of proud for being Brazilian- Canadian and most importantly, a citizen of the world. I often find that political and geographic boundaries, although a necessary bureaucracy, are a discouraging tool that frequently segregates people from getting to know other people’s culture and traditions.
That is exactly why I love a traveler’s true spirited mind and soul, that usually goes passed and beyond these social patterns of exclusion.
We are coffee, outdoorsie and organic/natural food enthusiasts as well.
I hope to get to know you on your next stop to Sao Paulo. Feel free to drop us a line!!
