I have a private bedroom available for sublease in my two bedroom / one bathroom apartment in NE Portland.
The apartment is located in the Irvington neighborhood of Portland and it's a very walkable area. Several buses stop right by and in front of the building. The MAX is close by too; it's a seven minute walk from the apartment and will take you downtown in less than ten minutes. There's several cool bars and restaurants nearby and the grocery store is just a few blocks away. The Lloyd Center Mall is a short walk from the apartment and has great stores, a movie theatre, and an ice rink.
The apartment is located in the Castle Manor building and it is very safe and secure. It's a vintage, well maintained building and was built in the 1920s. It has a laundry room, bike storage, and the neighbors are very friendly. The apartment is on the second floor, has windows in every room, and a fully stocked kitchen. The guest room is furnished with a full size bed and is very comfortable. I have a tv in the living room and although I don't have cable, I do have a great dvd collection which you're welcome to enjoy. You can also help yourself to my library.
I am a veteran airbnb host and moved to Portland in October 2013 from New Orleans. I live in the apartment with my small puppy. I'm happy to help out in any way during your stay and answer any questions you might have.
Please feel free to message me with any questions.

Carrie Ann was a great host! She was generous, thoughtful and helpful and her puppy is adorable. It was a perfect place for me to stay while I settled into Portland and I would definitely recommend her to any of my friends coming to town.
Spartan but nice and clean. Worked out well for my little dog too. Neighborhood was safe and enjoyed the shops nearby.
Stayed here with my sister during the extended MLK weekend, pretty close to the MAX red line so public transportation is doable, but we rented a car. Street parking wasn't hard to find, and the neighborhood is quiet. The room was big enough for both me and my sister, and had a heater for our weak California skins. Apartment was organized and everything is hardwood. Like another guest stated, good for short stays.
Carrie Ann was chill, gave us towels and offered access to shower supplies and kitchen items.
My friend and I stayed with Carrie Ann for three nights. The room was perfect for two people, and it was very clean and cute. Carrie Ann was incredibly accommodating and generous. Her apartment was in a great location, easily accessible from public transportation and walking. We had a wonderful time.
For the price and location, this room is a good deal. Hosts are respectful and give you privacy despite a relatively tight living space. Would only cautiously suggest longer stays for a single individual, but space is great for shorter, more temporary purposes.
