This recently renovated apartment in the heart of Greenwich Village is the real thing! The entire second floor–and garden–of the most photographed building on the block is yours. Subways, restaurants, the river are all less than a five minute walk.
From the longtime host of the much-visited 'Gorgeous Village Brownstone Apartment' (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1349328) comes 'Marvelous Village Brownstone Apartment,' a just-renovated two bedroom flat in the heart of New York's beautiful West Village. Also new? Stairs leading down to the full-access garden, a place to escape from the bustle. This fun pad on the second floor of a 19th-century brownstone is steps away from restaurants, bars, major subway lines and the Hudson River.
The building is a vine-covered beauty in the authentic heart of downtown Manhattan. A queen-sized bed in the street-facing bedroom is the star of the apartment, though a twin-sized frame in the backroom facing the garden is also a delight. Sleepers in the latter will pull up the blinds to have their mornings enlivened by sunlight pouring in through waist-to-ceiling windows. Plenty of comfortable extra beds are available for bigger parties.
The kitchen includes stove, fridge, microwave, coffee machine and eating area. The bathroom's got everything you'd expect, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer and towels. The couches are comfy, the closet is ample and the baby grand piano makes a lovely racket (though please don't play past 10 p.m.!)
The garden has a patio with a table and chairs for up to ten guests, as well as a lounge seat for relaxing time with a book. Tiki torches make the space a great place to have dinner or a nightcap. Come hang out before the weather gets cold!
I have over a year of hosting experience and will do everything I can to make your stay a delight! I am very excited to share this recently re-plastered, repainted, and redesigned apartment with you.
(note: a guest below, Laurent, notes a lack of blinds, old grouting in the bathroom and kitchen, and slow wifi - all has been addressed, as well as many other things!)
Washing machine, full kitchen

I'm a writer and usually work at home. If you ever need anything or just want to hang out, just call me or walk up one floor and knock on the door.
The West Village doesn't attract oodles of mega-celebrities for nothing. This neighborhood is both quiet and fashionable, neighboring magnificent restaurants, haute couture (email hidden)ly night scene, and the quiet splendor of the Hudson River.
The house's central Manhattan location makes getting around a breeze. The 1,2,3,A,C,E, and L subway lines are mere blocks away, and the F train is just a bit farther.
Please no playing the piano after 10 pm.!
Location was excellent: lots of places to eat nearby and easy to get around via subway.
The apartment has a lot of character in it - much more fun to stay in than a hotel. Also it was very roomy for 4 of us.
We felt very welcome and Matt was always available for anything we may need. It was also very nice to be able to check-in and check-out when we needed - something you don't get when you're staying at the hotel.
If anything could be improved, probably, the windows could use some better insulation. We were staying for Christmas and on especially cold days it was hard to keep the apartment comfortably warm.
Otherwise we had a great time and Matts apartment worked out perfect for our family re-union.
A great location, plenty of space including a nice enclosed back patio space with seating perfect for morning coffee (which BTW Matt provided). We were visited by a friendly cat (be aware there are cat doors in case you have allergies). Overall a great experience, thanks!
Excellent location and the best coffee shop nearby. The apartment is large by New York standards - there is a bedroom, living room with a piano and a few couches, full kitchen, and a "balcony" with another bed. Overall, good experience but the apartment could be cleaner. Also, the heating system has some issues so it was a bit cold, but there are portable heaters in the apartment that can be used instead.
The apartment is in a fantastic location, really gives you the chance to enjoy the heart of the West Village. Its spacey and has that New York charm to it. Matt was a wonderful host, always on hand to answer any of my questions or turn the heat up when I got a little cold. There was a lovely cat who lived upstairs who would occasionally come say hi. All in all, I had a good stay. Thx Matt.
A great location! The place is on a fantastic street in the best part of NYC. Matt was a great host, and he provided everything I needed for my stay - easily reachable if I needed anything. It was a very easy and comfortable stay, and great experience!
Matt was a great host, friendly and helpful. The appartment was clean, spacious and quite stylish. It was also well situated, in the very accessible West Village, at a walking distance to subway stations, parks and trendy restaurants and cafes. We'll come back for sure!
Matt was a fantastic host--very accommodating and helpful. His place was amazing--perfect location and beautiful! We will be back!
