Interaction with Guests
The home is actually now hosted by my amazing Mother. She owns the home and I converted it to an Airbnb after my own experience traveling and hosting in this home several times. I will do all of the booking and communication, but expect to see my Moms smiling face upon arrival. She is a retired Art Professor who still paints. And can tell you about some great places to visit in and around Tallahassee. She will be taking care of cleaning before and after, so please be kind and try not to leave big messes. We both look forward to having you as a guest. :-)
UPDATE** We try to accommodate all request, but please note, at times it is difficult to cater to a last minute request. So please understand if my Mom is not prepared to accommodate.
The neighborhood is quiet, modest 1950's neighborhood, that is family oriented. You will see neighbors and kids walking around or sitting on their front porch. There is a Church and Boys/Girls Club at the end of the road. Less than a mile away there is a grocery store, Drug Store, a few banks and a park. There are also many fast food and convenient stores, and you are only 5 minutes from restaurants, the Mall and Fresh Market.
Getting around by car is best, but there is a taxi service, and a city bus transit at the end of the street if need be.

Other Things to Note
** There is a second room in this house that is also listed on Airbnb, and there may be a rare occasion when you are sharing the bathroom with other guests.
** Smoking is permitted outside ONLY, Please use designated disposal.
We are pretty flexible with check-in and check out times. Depending on booking times for the next guest will determine if an earlier check in, or later check out is possible. Just let us know. My mothers home is your home, enjoy and respect the space. :) We have no expectations of when you come and go, I do just ask that you are mindful of possible other guests sleeping if you come in late. And when booking the room, please give us an approximate arrival time. You may bring a friend over for coffee or a drink, but please no unexpected overnight guests. Thanks, and we really look forward to having you. :)
Thank you dear Yvonne for your hospitality. The room and accommodations were just as listed. I enjoyed meeting you and you truly have a talent. Thank you for the conversation. Sorry I did not get a chance to say goodbye and thank you for the coffee!
Yvonne was not home when we arrivd but she made it very clear we were welcome in her home. A nice and clean room and cosy living and kitchen was our treat. Yvonne is a very intressting women with lots to tell about here full live an hobbies. Iwould liked to stay an talk longer with her.
The Blue Bayou was a fabulous spot. I was only there one night, but Yvonne made me feel completely welcome and at home - just what you hope for in an AirBnb. And well located too, an easy walk or drive to FAMU and more. Thanks again Yvonne!
My daughter and I had a wonderful stay with Yvonne. We were on a college tour of FSU and stayed one night. Her house was in an older but safe community only 10 minutes from campus. From the moment you meet Yvonne, she was very warm and friendly. We really liked the nice touch of having snacks and breakfast goodies available. Bathroom was nicely done (you can tell it was updated recently) and the bedroom colors were nice. We stayed in the smaller room with full bed since the larger room (queen bed) was already booked. Tene was very quick to follow up and her communications were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.
Yvon is a delightful and pleasant host with a beautiful little home and art studio, and great recommendations for local places to eat. The room I stayed in was comfortable and I felt completely at home..

About the Host, Tene And Yvonne
My mom and I work together to host all of the wonderful guests that have come through my childhood home in Tallahassee, FL. Yvonne is a retired Art Professor which she still is an active artist and her home reflects that. I am a lover of travel, music and the arts as well. After experiencing Airbnb as guests, I found that hosting is a great way to keep my Mom active and busy and we both love the Airbnb community experience.
Happy travels. :-)
