LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!
I'd like to welcome you to my cozy, one and only apartment in Berlin, where I stay myself, when I am in the city.
In such a huge and widespread place like Berlin, location is everything. Here you are in the middle of the coolest district of the city, with the main spots just around the corner! Please be aware that this also means that it can get loud, also in the evenings. Especially since there also a bars next to the house, which can get quite busy from time to time.
The apartment offers:
- Authentic Berlin "Altbau" with high ceilings, large windows
- Wooden floors ("Dielen") throughout all of the rooms
- In a historic building in Kreuzberg 36
- 2 bedrooms with a queen size bed each (140 x 200 cm)
- 1 extra queen size mattress (140 x 200 cm)
- 1 large living room
- 1 bathroom
- 1 kitchen (fully equipped with all you need, even a washing machine)
- Fast wireless internet connection (10 MBit/ sec)
- Video projector to watch a movie on DVD or connect your laptop
- Freshly washed linen and towels included
Interaction with Guests
I will meet you at the apartment to hand over the keys. Let me know if you want to check-in or check-out at another time than stated in the listing. I can't guarantee that they will work, but I will do my best.
Of course I'd be happy to give you lots of recommendations and tipps for restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. for your stay here. Also on short notice via text massage, if you have a question during your time in Berlin.
The apartment is located directly at Oranienstrasse between the underground stations "Kottbusser Tor" and "Görlitzer Bahnhof". So you are right in the middle of Kreuzberg, one of the most exciting districts of Berlin. There is a wide range of restaurants and bars just in front of the house. No matter what day, there always is something happening around the corner: an art installation, a new gallery popping up or some small "a cappella" group singing in the courtyard!
The most exciting clubs Berlin has to offer are all in the same neighborhood, just a short walk or cab drive.
There is a variety of fantastic hip and authentic restaurants, cafes and shops in the neighborhood (at relatively low prices). Just opposite of the apartment is the bistro "Bateau Ivre" with one of the best breakfasts in town. Around the corner you'll find the Turkish Restaurant "Hasir" (from Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" episode in Berlin). There are also lots of new restaurants with excellent German and Austrian cuisine nearby.
The main advantage of the apartment is its fabulous location. It is located in the centre of Kreuzberg, very close to the district "Mitte", "Friedrichshain" and "Schöneberg". You'll find the underground station "Kottbusser Tor" just around the corner (3 minutes by foot), where the lines U2 and U8 intersect. So you can easily explore the north and south with the U8 or take the U2 to go to west or east. A definite advantage in such a huge city like Berlin.
However, the best thing to do is to explore the neighborhood by bike. You can reach most of the sightseeing spots like "Checkpoint Charly", the "Museum Island" and "Brandenburger Tor" easily within 10 minutes from the apartment.
Other Things to Note
This is the perfect spot if you want to feel the vibe of this amazing city!
It is very much my home so I welcome responsible people, who are happy to be here. I am always reachable for any questions and have friends in the neighborhood, who are welcoming and available for any extra assistance.
Please note that since its my private apartment, those are also "my" neighbours, so please be quieter after 10 pm. Also be careful if you turn up the sound system for listening to music or watching a DVD on the projector.
Please no illegal filesharing. It's highly pursued and quite expensive in Germany! If you use the internet, you are consenting that you take responsibility for the cost of your uploads.
This is not a party apartment and smoking is not allowed.
Please respect all things and people. No unruly or illegal behavior on entire property whatsoever.
This apartment was perfect for our Berlin weekend, the location is top-notch, you don't need to walk far to have a great time. Our host Christopher was super-friendly and accommodating with our check-in/out-times etc. The apartment itself had comfy beds and was nicely decorated. Would love to come back when I visit Berlin again!
The apartment was exactly what we needed for a long weekend in Berlin. It was close to some great bars and restaurants and easy to get into the U Bahn to get around the city.
Christopher wasn't able to meet us with the keys but left them with a guy in the shop downstairs, so was super easy to get in.
Christopher sent a couple of texts during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and was on hand for any recommendations or advice about the City and the apartment.
The kitchen is very small so not really somewhere you would cook a big meal but the rest of the apartment is lovely and spacious, light & bright.
As it only has two separate bedrooms with proper beds and then an extra mattress it really suits either a few friends or two couples unless you put the extra mattress into living room so everyone has their own privacy.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend the apartment and Berlin for a reasonably priced City break full of history and amazing night life.
Christopher was very helpful and nice. The apartment is in the best area in Berlin and it is super centric, whenever we have the chance to visit Berlin again we will definitely stay at this place.
Christopher was communicative prior to our stay, ensuring that we had detailed instructions to find the apartment and obtain the keys. Christopher also messaged us to make sure we had arrived ok and to check that we didn't need any help with anything.
The apartment was exactly what we needed; clean, comfortable, secure and plenty of space for five people on a long weekend of sightseeing (including the nightlife of course).
The area is great, bohemian with a really bustling atmosphere and a diverse array of places to eat and drink- all good value, as we found with Berlin generally. It was easy to get to the apartment from the airport and so close to some of the sights of Berlin that we walked. Others are a tube ride away.
Overall, we had an amazing time, which was in part due to Christopher's apartment.
We had a lovely stay at Chris' place, great location and everything went very smoothly!
Great air bnb experience. Apartment was in a really central location with everything you could want at your doorstep. Christopher was super helpful throughout the entire process and had plenty of great suggestions of things to do and see in the area. Couldn't have asked for more!!
After studying in the UK, Italy, Switzerland and Vietnam I started working in an Internet startup here in Berlin.
I've often had friends from abroad as visitors here in Berlin and I enjoyed exploring most of the sightseeing spots, museums and galleries with them. So if in doubt what to do or see here in Berlin, just ask and I'm happy to give you advice.
