My husband and I had a lovely stay at Peter's house!
We found it clean, spacious and child-friendly enough for our 4yrs and 10 months old children. Peter provided accurate instructions to find the keys and we were happily surprised to find wine and chocolate as welcome hamper! The beds were already made up, which added a bonus as we stayed for 2 nights only.
The location is great for beach, town centre and other touristic locations around the island. Within short drives you reach basically everything.
A note for future guests: should you travel outside the hottest season, be prepared to wake up with chilly temperature inside the house and the floor gets very cold. The 2 mornings we woke up there it was warmer outdoor than indoor.
Should we decide to visit Phillip Island again, we'd definitely consider booking this accommodation again. No disappointments at all!
We stayed 3 nights at Peter's Perfect Beach House, and it was exactly as the name suggests.
The house is very clean and comfortable, yet also relaxed and practical for a beach stay.
The location is just on the fringe of Cowes, so you can easily drive in to get groceries, or even better just walk along the beach and have fish and chips.
Everything was as listed - keys easily located, instructions to turn on hot water easy (we had heaps of hot water) etc.
We brought own bedding, but didn't actually need it as one bed was made already (Thanks!)
Only two of us, but would be great for family groups as heaps of space and two loungerooms (though be aware that whilst front yard is large, it is unfenced and on a busyish road)
We have been visiting Philip Island frequently for many years, and this is easily the best accommodation we've had, both in terms of enjoyment and value for money.
Thank you Owen for a great review, we really appreciate the thought and time you put into it, we are sure it will be of benefit to other guests. You are most welcome back anytime, we will try to exceed your expectation, thank you again for choosing to stay with us.
Warm Regards, Peter & Luisa
Peter's house on Cowes was just what we wanted for a five day break. The house is clean, comfortable and well-appointed. We were just two, but it would be a great house for a family. It was very good value for the money. We had an issue during the week and though Peter made a fair effort to resolve it, we had left by the time it was resolved.
We have stayed in this house 3 times. Hot water was fine for 2 days but after that, NO HOT WATER. We were instructed to switch on the hot water when we arrived, which we did. NO HOT WATER no matter what time of day or night. We were working at the Moto GP from 8 am till 630 pm and expect a hot shower when we come home at least and also in the a.m. NOTHING.
We booked for 3 people but there was only bedding on one double bed, no extra sheets, pillows, towels or blankets. The owner changed the instructions for booking after we booked in February this year. When we booked, sheets, blankets, pillows and towels were included.
We had to go out and buy pillows, towels, doonas, sheets.
Will not be staying in this house again.
Hi Janice, the solar boosted hot water unit is 2 years old, if that and is turned to the OFF position when the home is not occupied, I'm sorry that limited hot water was available however, if the guide in the house manual was followed ( or rang for assistance or to report a fault ) I'm sure this could have been avoided. We don't have this issue with other guests, many who stay longer. Our cleaner has advised that the double bed had been made, with 4 towels and extra blankets left, sheets, doonas were left in the Linen Cupboard for extra guests, the cleaner is new and a local, gladly on hand to offer any assistance, if only notified. We welcome any feed-back on areas that can be improved, you are welcome anytime.
For us as first time Airbnb users, Peter was more than happy to answer all of our questions. We were delighted to be greeted with a box of chocolates and sparkling. Perfectly situated, just a short walk to the main street of Cowes and beach. The house was more than big enough for us and we took full appreciation of the fully equipped kitchen and living spaces. Plenty of space to relax on the deck and front lawn. The house was very clean and tidy and we'd have no hesitation returning in the future.
Definitely the perfect beach house!! The house was so tidy, spacious and had such a homey feel. It's also in such a perfect location with the beach just a street away and everything else a 10 minute walk away! Will most definitely be coming back here.
Lovely spot in Cowes, we enjoyed our stay at Peter's Perfect Beach House.
About the Host, Peter
Hi, we are a family of five including three daughters, now aged 18,19 and 21. I work in construction and my wife (Luisa) is a school teacher. We try and travel abroad regularly, so far visiting Russia, Italy, Japan, USA, India, New Caledonia and many parts of Europe. Several cruises to destinations as the Greek Islands and around Europe. Best place we both enjoyed the most so far, is Poland. The food, YUMMM !
We try to utilise Airbnb where possible meeting and mingling with the locals.
We strive to make our guests feel safe and welcome and appreciate common sense and an independent approach from our guests in matters of security and especially the willingness to tidy up after themselves, we are delighted when our guests are thoughtful in this way. Most are.
As a guest and as a host we try to be tidy and considerate and are happy to get to know you but equally content with your privacy.
We welcome clear communication if there is anything else that you would like or need to make your stay with us more enjoyable.
