About This Listing
This one-bedroom apartment is cozy and bright! It sleeps two people comfortably and is centrally located on a quiet street, three blocks from the cafes and restaurants on 124th street. Enjoy the laid back neighbourhood and its proximity to all parts of the city by transit.
Spacious and bright private suite, located just steps away from the fantastic shops and restaurants of 124th street!
Guests will have a one-bedroom suite with a private entrance and large living room. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a great little coffee machine to get you going in the morning! The suite shares a recently renovated bathroom and laundry room with the neighbouring studio suite (check out my other ad!).
Guests will be provided bedding, pillows and towels, as well as access to a washer and dryer. On-street parking and WiFi are also available.
Once you are ready to start exploring you will discover lots of independent boutiques and restaurants in the eclectic 124th street area, including the Grand Street Farmers' Market, Duchess Bakery and the Royal Alberta Museum.
Downtown Edmonton is a short 10-minute drive or 20 minute bus ride away, as well as the University of Alberta and Old Strathcona. If you like architecture, you will want to take a walk through the heritage streets of Westmount and the century-old homes. Best of all, if you bring your bicycle you can explore the city using the bike lane right outside your front door!
I love to host guests and will do everything possible to ensure you have a pleasurable and uncomplicated stay!
The suite is a private space, with the exception of the shared bathroom and laundry room.
Interaction with Guests
The suite has a private entrance, so guests may come and go as they wish. Since I live upstairs, I just ask that you be considerate of your neighbours!
Westmount is a small residential neighbourhood located just west of downtown Edmonton along the popular 124 street shopping district. Many of the homes in Westmount were built at the turn of the century, and the neighbourhood is known for its character homes.
Guests can take a flat-rate taxi directly to the suite, or take public transit Corona LRT station and take the #5 bus in the direction of Westmount. On street parking is available, and generally easy to find. The neighbourhood is also well served by public transit to downtown Edmonton and the University of Alberta across the river. Buses run often during peak hours and generally no longer than every 30 minutes during off peak hours. There are also many shops, restaurants and cafes walking distance on 124 street.
There are not too many rules -- no smoking indoors, no excessive noise, and overall please be respectful.
Other than that, have fun!
Staying in Trafton's super cute basement suite for three months was lovely! He was so accommodating, friendly, respectful, and available for questions promptly. The apartment is adorable, with tons of light for a basement suite, and beautifully renovated bathroom! It has tons of closet space, laundry and parking is always easy to get. On top of everything, it's near some great cafes and restaurants (Remedy Cafe and Duchess Bakery!) and a short drive to downtown/Whyte Ave. I would highly recommend staying here and will miss my home away from home!
It was our second stay at Trafton's apartment. Again everything was perfect. We certainly recommend this place for a long or a short stay. Thank you again Trafton.
Good value for money. There's no private parking but there was always parking just in front of the house. Washing machine and dryer worked just great. When we needed a bigger pot, Trafton provided one. The wifi/internet work great. Feels completely private, and it was very quiet.
The street was cleared 2 days after the snow storm, but even before that it wasn't difficult driving there.
The suite is located very close to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, which we needed, and getting from and to wasn't hard even at rush hour.
Trafton is the kind of host that everyone would adore. He is super nice and he was very helpful whenever we had any questions or issues. During our 2 months+ stay he continued surprising us whenever his handicraft was needed and clearly exceeded our expectations. To top things of he even spoke French. The apartment is well furnished and clean. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the view of the front yard. The neighbourhood is very calm and green, which was perfect to take hour long walks with our baby. It is also well situated, several restaurants are within a short walking distance. It takes only a few minutes direct bus ride to downtown and several bus stops to access different bus lines are very close.
Our stay in Trafton's basement suite was terrific. It was everything we had hoped for and Trafton was very helpful and a sincere host.
The location was great, with direct bus access to the city via 107th Ave (1 block from house). From there, the LRT could whisk you to the University in a matter of minutes.
We had a lovely stay in Trafton's apartment. He is a wonderful host and the apartment is just perfect. The suite is big, sunny and very clean. Even if the apartment is in Trafton's basement, you feel home. Trafton is very respectful and helpful. He was always there if we needed something. All summer long, he gave us some information about the festivals, activites and attractions of Edmonton. The apartment is just 5 minutes from downton, but at the same time, the neighborhood is very quiet and you feel safe.
That's very simple, we have appreciated everything in this apartment and our unique regret is that we haven't booked it for longer. We would have like to stay there until the end of our trip in Edmonton.
Merci (thank you) Trafton for everything!!!
Sabrina and Patrick !
