Very well located close to Reforma and close to La Roma. An old historic neighborhood full of things to discover.
Other Things to Note
BARE IN MIND, WE HAVE A CONSTRUCTION NEXT DOOR, IT MIGHT BE NOISY AND DUSTY, WE ARE WORKING ON THAT TO RESTRAIN WORKING HOURS
Please, no smoking inside
Great stay, and the only negative would be that the hot water lasts only like 2 minutes so you can't really take a decent hot shower. Nice location, nice area, Rodrigo was helpful. The smell at the entry was there but it didn't bother us that much.
Incredible. What an amazing apartment in a wonderful location.
This is the rare occasion on AIRBNB where the apartment actually looks better than the photos.
Rodrigo (the host) could not have been nicer or more helpful.
The two restaurants on the first floor were excellent.
The apartment is exactly as pictured! Very comfortable and there is plenty of space. Its in a really great neighborhood and there is a taxi stand just steps away. Other reviews had mentioned the mosquitoes and although they were there, they weren't as bad as we had anticipated. We also had bug spray so it wasn't so bad. As for for the smell - there is an odd smell right when you walk through the door, but it smells like gas maybe from the water heater? It's not bothersome if you know what it is. We had to hijack the wifi from the restaurant and it didn't work in the bedroom. The restaurant downstairs was great for cocktails and snacks, and it was awesome having a panderia downstairs with good quality coffee every morning. Overall great stay!
Amazing apartment! Absolutely beautiful. I loved staying here and the neighborhood was great. The neighbors were really nice and friendly as well. Make sure to stop by the panderia downstairs for breakfast, it is DELICIOUS.
Great building in a good location. Amazing restaurant in the main level and lots of coffee shops close by. Only bad part was that there is no wifi as advertised - unless you want to steal the restaurant's. Also, the building has a bit of a sewer smell. Good experience.
you really did an honest review of our place.
I am working harder to make our guest feel as comfortable as possible, some of the issued you addressed are easy to fix (soap and paper, mismanagement, mosquitoes, plug repellent, also mismanagement ), the construction was in its last stretch and now it is done, only few interior details and should be done for good.
And regarding the smell, we have tried different ways to solve the issue, and apparently the building itself needs a larger modification that we are asking the administrations to do so.
I hope that readers who read your review, also read my points to make conclusions.
Honesty is what makes airbnb work for both sides, so again i appreciate your time and your honest review.
Thnx for having stayed at our place.
A true three star review: there were a number of five star features, and a number of one star features.
Five star feature: The location is perfect. On a quiet block walking distance from all the great stuff in Roma Norte. The block itself is beautiful and absolutely safe. Metro is just a couple of blocks away.
One star feature: The apartment has a mosquito problem. For two of the four nights we really couldn't sleep at all, moving from the lofted bedroom to the futon downstairs, because a cloud of mosquitos was after us. Bummer.
Five star feature: The apartment itself is really nice, and looks just the way it does in the pictures. Lots of charm and character, and the price feels like a good value.
One star feature: When we arrived, we found that there was neither soap nor toilet paper in the apartment. The latter would have been good to have upon arrival. After which, the former would also have been good to have.
Five star feature: Rodrigo was very quick to respond to emails, and arriving and departing was a breeze (just pick up/leave the keys with the doorman, who is pretty much always there).
One star feature: Combining three things here, since other reviews mention them: there is a bit of a funky smell in the apartment, loud construction goes on nearby every weekday morning, and one of the nights there was a loud party going until 3am or so.
Five star feature: Apartment is located directly above a crazy, crazy good bakery/cafe (Panderia Rosetta). Morning coffee/pastries were a joy. A new, nice looking restaurant just opened downstairs as well...
So, all in all, a bit of a polarizing experience. The mosquitos were, unquestionably, a real drag, and I have to imagine the toiletry situation was a simple oversight. Overall I'd recommend the apartment because of the fantastic location, albeit with the caveats mentioned above.
Hands down this was the worse Airbnb experience to date, prior to this I've had mostly good experiences. After promising someone would be there for my late arrival to check me in that didn't happen. The Mosquitos were terrible, and what's worse as mentioned in atleast 7 reviews the door wouldn't lock. I asked rodrigo to fix it because I don't feel comfortable leaving the door unlocked with my passport, laptop, and other valuables in the flat, He applogized and sent someone to fix it twice. Twice someone came Twice it wasn't fixed, the door man then told me rodrigo said he'd come and take care of it. 5 days no rodrigo, now I check out and he has the audacity to want to charge for sending someone to fix the already broke doors. That never was actually fixed, meaning anyone can walk up and open your door at any time. Thats correct he wants to charge $250 to fix doors that as you can see in previous reviews don't lock. There is also some wretched smell as you walk in and Internet is spotty at best. The only upside is its as pictures, though pictures don't tell the whole story. If you want to have a flat with locked doors and not a huge mosquito problem, or wretchedly terrible smell this isn't the flat for you. Beware you've been warned
Sorry to hear this, we have had quite some issues with the door and I have tried to fix them as soon as possible. But braking the door three times has never been the problem. Regarding the resolution, it was not for the door, it was for the sheets that you clearly didn't take care at all. I wouldn't host anybody with those sheets again.
Sorry to say that your experience was clearly not the one I would wish for, but certainly I would never host someone who doesn't care for the place like I would.
