Centrally located, this one bedroom apartment is ready to show you a true San Francisco experience. The neighborhood has a wide range of restaurants, small shops and bars reflecting the melting pot of cultures.

The Space

The Apartment is located on the second story of a two story building, above a popular art Gallery in the Tenderloin. When it's not rented for airbnb, the space houses international artists that show at the gallery. The space is ideal for 2-4 people, with two queen beds in the bedroom.

Guest Access

There is a large roof which guests are welcome to enjoy from 6am-10pm, like a backyard space. We enjoy lunching on the roof regularly and live in the second apartment across the hallway. The roof is shared, otherwise the apartment is private.

Interaction with Guests

Because we also live in the building, we can be accessed easily for inquiries or recommendations. We also enjoy privacy and can respect yours, so friendly hellos in the hallway are fine and you can be left to enjoy your adventure.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is vibrant, with a mixture of residential and commercial buildings. There are tons of places to eat and drink and explore without being too "touristy", it feels like a true San Francisco neighborhood.

Getting around

Public transit runs all around the area. We are very central, everywhere that you want to get to in the city is most likely walking distance or a short bus ride.

Other Things to Note

There is street parking in the neighborhood which is metered from around 9 am to 6 pm, and a few different parking garages close by that charge around $25/day.

  • First, the communication with Helen was perfect, sending emails and later even sms, when my workmate was the one who had to take the keys, and I was not there.
Second the apartment was really cool, an artist apartment full of pictures and art :-)
The street where the apartment is located is also really good, really close to everything and full of bars, restaurants, shops, etc.
When I left, Helen and me were messaging us to finish all correctly because a workmate was still there since I left before, and everything went perfect.

So in conclusion, totally recommended!!! :-)

  • Had a great stay at the apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable. Loved the outdoor space on the roof, and the apartment's proximity to the conference I attended at the nearby Hilton.

  • Great apartment in an interesting part of town. Just a walk/short bus-ride away from great cafe's, museums, restaurants, etc...Helen and her boyfriend were super responsive and easy to work with. Rooftop balcony/garden are lovely for morning coffee, etc... Bed is super comfortable and whole apartment was clean and fresh. Only thing I'd recommend for light sleepers is bringing some ear plugs as the street noise can be a bit loud on the weekends.

  • We had a great stay at Helens apartment. Everything was ready and uncomplicated. I would definitely come back if I travelled to SF again.
I recommend Helens and her boyfriends gallery next to the apartment.

  • This place, and Helen, were absolutely amazing! We wished we could've stayed an entire week instead of just a night before an early flight. It was a great location, parking was not difficult, lots of bars/restaurants close. I could've spent days on the rooftop deck! The cats were awesome. Loved everything about it and definitely plan to return if I ever visit San Fran again!

  • Helen was super nice and it was great to stay at her place.

It was really nice to be in a City like SF and feel like we were a local, and this is what we got, though maybe not as vibrant as some of the local people!

The apartment was great and we felt really at home!

  • Helen has a great apartment in a great location with lots of beautiful art. We loved our stay there.

There are two adorable cats that live in Helen's apartment next door, and will come and hang out if you want let them through the patio door. A definite perk.

  • We absoljutely loved our stay at Helen's Artsy Apartment. Loved the sunny roofdeck and the art all over the apartment. Cool neighborhood with great local nightlife and coffee shops just steps from our door. Be sure to get one of the salted caramels at Hooker's and check out Helen's mural while you're waiting for your pour over at Jane. And be sure not to miss the chance to tour the art in the White Walls Gallery downstairs.

Helen was a fabulous host and stayed up wait on our late arrival. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay with her!
