Centrally located, this one bedroom apartment is ready to show you a true San Francisco experience. The neighborhood has a wide range of restaurants, small shops and bars reflecting the melting pot of cultures.
The Apartment is located on the second story of a two story building, above a popular art Gallery in the Tenderloin. When it's not rented for airbnb, the space houses international artists that show at the gallery. The space is ideal for 2-4 people, with two queen beds in the bedroom.
There is a large roof which guests are welcome to enjoy from 6am-10pm, like a backyard space. We enjoy lunching on the roof regularly and live in the second apartment across the hallway. The roof is shared, otherwise the apartment is private.
Interaction with Guests
Because we also live in the building, we can be accessed easily for inquiries or recommendations. We also enjoy privacy and can respect yours, so friendly hellos in the hallway are fine and you can be left to enjoy your adventure.
The neighborhood is vibrant, with a mixture of residential and commercial buildings. There are tons of places to eat and drink and explore without being too "touristy", it feels like a true San Francisco neighborhood.
Public transit runs all around the area. We are very central, everywhere that you want to get to in the city is most likely walking distance or a short bus ride.
Other Things to Note
There is street parking in the neighborhood which is metered from around 9 am to 6 pm, and a few different parking garages close by that charge around $25/day.
Helen was a wonderful host, and the place was even better than expected! The apartment has wonderful art throughout, and also has a great rooftop area with two highly sociable cats. It was very clean, with nice linens. Helen was most accommodating! It is an easy walk to Union Square, and there are a range of nice restaurants, a wine bar, and what looked like fun art & collectible shops closeby. I would highly recommend this Artsy flat!! I will return.
Helen was incredible and gave us everything we needed for a pleasant stay including information before hand, meeting us and helping us settle in, and then leaving us to enjoy the place with all the comforts she provided.
We really enjoyed staying at Helen's house. Se was so nice with us!. The place is perfect! Very well located, near to everything and so comfortable!!! We would definitely come back!
Helen's apartment was just as advertised. Stylish, clean and comfortable. It is very spacious, and the roof access is a great amenity. There are also two very friendly cats in the building that love to climb in the window and hangout, which is also great. The tenderloin neighborhood definitely isn't for everybody, but I personally loved it. In other words, it's great for getting the gritty urban experience, and is near other great neighborhoods (The Mission, North Beach). Helen punctually answered any questions I had, and also gave great recommendations for local spots. I highly recommend staying here!
Helen was great, her listing was super modern, and trendy, I absolutely loved it. What's not shown is there's actually steps leading to the rooftop of this apartment where you can hang out on. Overall meeting and communicating with Helen was super easy. Absolutely would recommend staying here.
Parking was a bit tricky, but that's just how SF is. Street parking is do-able, no need for the parking garages you just have to be patient. There's tons of great breakfast places, bars, all around the place. My girlfriend and I found ourselves walking almost everywhere and there was always uber and public transportation around the corner.
10/10 would recommend, I'd definitely stay here again
Everything was awesome and the space was clean, bright, and way spacious for an apartment in SF. We slept well Wednesday night and Thursday was a bit loud outside! Although, Helen and Justin do provide ear plugs!!!
The neighborhood was exactly what we expected, edgy, a little weird and great all at the same time.
My first stay using Airbnb and I must say Helen really made it a memorable one. Helen was so friendly, welcoming and easy to contact (replying quickly). The appartment was lovely and clean, comfortable beds and some great artwork on display! On arrival (which was a little everywhere due to the St Particks Day festivities) Helen was not bothered about our delayed arrival and more than happy to help out with directions and reccomendations. Also Helen's food reccomendations were FANTASTIC! Thanks for being a fantastic host, I highly reccomend you! Cheers
