About this listing
Centrally located, this one bedroom apartment is ready to show you a true San Francisco experience. The neighborhood has a wide range of restaurants, small shops and bars reflecting the melting pot of cultures.
The Apartment is located on the second story of a two story building, above a popular art Gallery in the Tenderloin. When it's not rented for airbnb, the space houses international artists that show at the gallery. The space is ideal for 2-4 people, with two queen beds in the bedroom.
There is a large roof which guests are welcome to enjoy from 6am-10pm, like a backyard space. We enjoy lunching on the roof regularly and live in the second apartment across the hallway. The roof is shared, otherwise the apartment is private.
Interaction with Guests
Because we also live in the building, we can be accessed easily for inquiries or recommendations. We also enjoy privacy and can respect yours, so friendly hellos in the hallway are fine and you can be left to enjoy your adventure.
The neighborhood is vibrant, with a mixture of residential and commercial buildings. There are tons of places to eat and drink and explore without being too "touristy", it feels like a true San Francisco neighborhood.
Public transit runs all around the area. We are very central, everywhere that you want to get to in the city is most likely walking distance or a short bus ride.
Other Things to Note
There is street parking in the neighborhood which is metered from around 9 am to 6 pm, and a few different parking garages close by that charge around $25/day.
Helen was a perfect host . The apartment was nice and the beds comfortable. The neighborhood was a little tough but if you walked a block or two away , it was better. Union squere is within walking distance and it is downhill there. I would recommend Helen and her apartment to my friends.
It was a pleasant 3-night stay. This place is close to nice eateries/food places and is of walking distance to the shopping area like saks and westfield. Everything was good.
Very nice apartment, very good location. Everything perfect .
Thanks again for everything Helen !
We will come back and stay longer, it's a perfect place for beautiful vacations and discover San Francisco !
(and agin sorry for the powers adapters, I will send them back to you asap !)
The space was just as described, very comfortable. Helen was friendly and accommodating. Communication was easy. Recommended!
Helen made us feel welcome and I loved my first experience using Airbnb. Not only did she keep contact while we were arriving, she was very friendly and very accomodating in letting us leave our bags at the check in desk while we explore the city. The location was very convenient to Union Square and other tourist spots. The description was up to par as was stated on the website. My overall experience for SF was amazing and I had a wonderful stay, especially thanks to Helen!!
Apartment was great, the roof was a nice bonus and Helen was a great host. Also make sure to check out the gallery below!
Helen was a very gracious host. She made us feel welcome right from the start ! We enjoyed going out every day and seeing San Francisco, then coming home to a comfortable bed. We didn't want to stay in a cold sterile hotel room, and this is exactly what we hoped for! There was unique artwork on the walls, a kitchen with fridge, stove and microwave, and a great rooftop terrace to relax on. The Tenderloin District was an eclectic mix of trendy and upscale juxtaposed with the opposite. This was great central location for us to adventure to the wharf, Chinatown, Mission, Downtown and beyond. The only downside is there is a bit of street noise at night, but Helen thoughtfully provided earplugs, so we were able to sleep like babies! I'd highly recommend!
