We were met as arranged by a friend of Ilse, and she opened up for us and showed us the flat, which was clean and spacious as described. All facilities were available, plenty of hot water etc, and in an excellent situation on a delightful pedestrian lane with cafes and lovely shops.
Visitors should be aware that the bells of the nearby church spring to life pretty early, and ring for about 15 minutes on Sunday from 7am, which is pleasant, but loud. It was a bit of a shock, but it made us laugh.
We had wonderful stay except for very hot temperature for 2 days which incidentally occurred after many years.
The apartment is in the heart of city, walking distance to river and all important place in Salzburg.
Appartment is like pent house in old city - Kitchen and dinning area downstairs, living room and bed rooms upstairs. Kids enjoyed a lot.
We could not meet Ilse as she was with her father.
IIse is truly a great host. Though I did not get to met her, but she has been so responsive to all my queries before the trip that I was totally comfortable. Other than helping us with the apartment, she went the extra mile to guide us on places to see, local transport, etc.. which helped us a lot (as we were first time travelers to Salzburg. Her response time is amazingly quick. When we arrived at the apartment, her friend Nicole greeted us. She is an amazing person and made us feel so special.
Very nice place. Bedrooms upstairs with nice common area. Downstairs kitchen and dining area. Great location in Salzburg. Right on a main walking street with food and market easily accessible. Rooms in the back away from the street so no street noise problem.
Only thing to know is that the church bells are nearby and frequent. At first I thought it would be a bother but it really wasn't.
Staying in this beautiful flat was by far our best decision for Salzburg. The property was perfect for us. Ilse was quick to reply to any communication and Nicole, who met us on check-in day, was so friendly and welcoming. The property was very spacious and perfect for our travel group of 4 adults. We had a family dining room, kitchen, and sitting area downstairs and our 2 bedrooms, bathrooms, and living room on the top floor. The flat had a great charm and feel to it. The building is historic and made us feel like part of the city during our stay. Our beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was large for European standards (with a separate shower and bathtub). The upstairs living room was a perfect place to unwind after a day in the city. I can't say enough about the wonderful stay we had in this property. The location was perfect-we were surrounded by shops and restaurants, but we weren't in the overly crowded Old Town area across the river. We had a very short walk to all the things we wanted to see. Though we had so many great restaurants nearby, we chose to make use of the great kitchen and dining room, too. I have nothing but great things to say about the property and would recommend it to anyone. It is worth noting that the nearby church starts ringing the bells very early in the morning (around 6am) and chimes incessantly at seemingly random times within the 7am hour, but this was not a negative experience for us. Just a note.
