  • This is the second worst apartment I have stayed in, and to give you an idea of why it is only at number two I should tell you that number 1 on my list was an apartment with a cockroaches infestation.
We were left waiting for 3.5. hours to get into an apartment that had not been cleaned. There were major damp patches that made the place smell and left my friend with a tight chest. The hot water usually didn't heat up so we had cold showers all weekend. We have asked for our cleaning deposit back (at minimum) considering the above circumstances but Mike has not responded to us. The bed in the living room was only comfortable if you put a duvet underneath the sheet.

On a positive note the location is fantastic (once you have found the place - I advise you to bug Mike for directions before you get there) and it feels very secure.

We had a lovely time in Dublin and the apartment didn't ruin that by any means but I do resent paying a cleaning fee when we had to clean on arrival.

  • Mike's apartment was in a GREAT location and it was really easy for us to pick up the keys and find it. His directions were clear and easy to follow and he was very responsive. Unfortunately I think maybe someone had stayed there before us and Mike didn't have a chance to check on it before we got there because there was trash in the trash can still and we found chewed gum stuck to the furniture in two places. It was also hard to tell if the linens were clean since the bed didn't seem freshly made. Additionally we were unable to get any hot water out of the shower both days we stayed there, even after asking Mike about it and doing what he recommended. I don't think we'd stay there again but if location is a higher priority for you than any thing else, this might meet your needs.

  • We had a great holiday. Very comfortable, clean and nice apartment. There is everything you need. Mike is very friendly and helpful host. Thanks a lot!

  • Mike's place has a SOLID location - stumbling distance to all of the attractions in Temple Bar. However, the place is - as some other folks noted - somewhat dated (definitely not an issue if you're spending your time out in Dublin itself and not in your apartment, which you should be). If you rent a car, too, just be aware that the closest parking lot (about a 3 minute walk) charges 19euro a day. All in all, I'd stay here again just for ease of walking, especially if I didn't have a car.

  • Cannot really fault the location as it's so central but also so quiet so you can escape from the hustle and bustle.
    Downsides:
The flat is really stuffy and the Mike's friend alluded to a potential problem with damp which would explain this.
    The apartment is slightly dated.
The shower works but is not attached to the wall

However, the apartment is homely and had everything we needed. There were three of us and the sofa bed in the living room is fine for someone to sleep on.

If you want somewhere central that offers no thrills, this place is fine.

    Thanks Mike!

  • Great location, a quiet apartment in the center of Dublin. Unfortunately we had no wifi and no hot water for the first day. The apartment smells a bit damp due to a leakage around the window and the bed in the living-room is pretty hard to sleep on. The bed in the sleeping-room is really comfortable. The apartment could use a bit more attention concerning the humidity and cleanness of the place. Nevertheless we had a good time in Dublin.

  • Dublin is still the fantastic city we used to know, the location of Mike's flat is just perfect, the flat is quiet and safe, but not a good spot for more than two people. We were three and one of us was not able to sleep the first night because the couch is not compfortable enough to be used as a bed.
We were also cold in the main room despite the heater on and we had no hot water the first 24 hours.
Still we'll keep a good memory of the weekend!

  • Couldn't ask for a better location. Immediately adjacent to the Ha'Penny Bridge, with a friendly and helpful host. Thanks again, MIke.

  • Very comfortable accommodation with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed. That was quite enough to accommodate 3 guys. Though it was a bit difficult to find the place, Mike was very helpful
to find there. Needless to say, the location is perfect for sightseeing!

    Response from Mike:

Thanks for the review guys, just wanted to say that the apartment is located right in front of the river Liffey (Dublins Biggest landmark that splits the city).
Also it is just one right turn and 2minute walk from the cities biggest and most historical street ,O'Connell st. Not to mention you can see Ha'Penny bridge from the front entrance and the Spire from the back entrance. (Again all landmarks of Dublin you will see in any guide book.) I am sorry you had a wee bit of a problem finding the place but I honestly do not think it was because of the apartments location. but your entitled to you opinion of coarse, safe travels to all of ye.

  • Had a nice stay in Mike's appartment.

Nice place, in the centrer of temple bar, well-furnished (there is evereyhting you need), though a bit humid.

Mike did also his best to arrange the check in and check out. That was very appreciated
