La Scaletta Holiday House is located in the heart of the historic district of Trastevere on the 1st floor of a characteristic building dating back to 1800, which overlooks the church of Santa Maria della Scala and Via della Scala, and takes you straight to Santa Maria in Trastevere. Woody Allen filmed here his movie "to Rome with Love", dedicated to the eternal city and love. La Scaletta consists of a large living room with kitchenette and double sofa bed, loft with double bed and bathroom for a total of 45 sqm. The kitchen has a gas hob, oven, fridge, extractor fan and all
utensils for cooking. The decor is traditional and tasteful, with wooden roof beams and terracotta flooring. The neighborhood is brimming with restaurants, bars, pubs and many of the artisan and historic shops (jewelers, antique dealers, etc..). With a 15-minute walk through Via della Lungara you can get to St. Peter; if you cross Ponte Sisto in 10 minutes you find yourself in Campo de 'Fiori and Piazza Navona. Viale Trastevere is only 5 minutes away, here you can take number 8 tram to get to Piazza Venezia and Via del Corso (2 stops); if you take the opposite direction you find yourself at Trastevere station, where you can easily take the train to Fiumicino Airport. Walking down via Garibaldi from the apartment you get to the Gianicolo where you will be rewarded with the most beautiful view of Rome from the top. From there you can walk on to Villa Pamphili, the "lungs of the city", where you can do sports or spend time with your children. Only 3 minutes away from the apartment you will find Piazza Trilussa, a meeting place for people and street artists, as well as the Tiber River where the "Roman Summer" takes place: music, shows, restaurants, games and stalls on the banks of the river. If you love the fun and the sounds of the city then you are at the center of the Roman nightlife. The neighborhood offers all the services: taxi cabs at Piazza Belli (5 min), pharmacy, laundry, Guardia Medica (doctor on call) for tourists, only 5 minutes away. I hope you'll let yourselves be carried away by the color and veracity of the people of Trastevere.

Our stay in Fabrizios place has been very pleasant and comfortable. It felt like a very warm and well-curated apartment, with lots of rustic charm and great interior design (don't miss to hear the Ben Harper CD). Fabrizio is really a perfect host, very kind, charming, cheerful and always available for explanations or information. His apartment is in a lovely and romantic district of rome and there are many good restaurants and bars. I really recommend to try this beautiful experience. thank you fabrizio!!! ciao ciao kakao
We had a really lovely stay at Fabrizio's flat in Trastevere.
Fabrizio met us at the flat even though we had a late flight and arrived at 00:30, showed us a map of the area and even recommended places for us to visit! He was very kind and attentive during our week-long stay - a perfect host.
The flat was lovely - clean, cozy and well-equipped. The only thing you should bear in mind is that the bed is in a gallery with a very low ceiling (you have to crawl on all fours), but that really didn't bother us much at all.
We were in Rome for a week and used public transportation only once - the apartment is extremely close to practically everywhere in the city! It's a really good location.
All in all - great location, great value. We had a really wonderful experience, and highly recommend the flat.
Fabrizio is a very nice guy and the flat is well located in the heart of Trastevere. The apartment is clean and nice but it can be noisy outside during the night...
Just one thing : the bedroom is very low so you have to go on your knees to access to the room which cannot be convenient for some people.
But we spent a very nice time in Roma!
Few words in English: Fabrizio is a great host, he's extremely helpful and easy-going. As we arrived quite late (around 10.30pm) and we didn't know where to go to have dinner (most restaurant are closing around that time) he even brought us to a restaurant ("Da Checco") where we had a wonderful Roman meal (my favorites "coda alla vaccinara" and "carciofi alla giudìa").
The apartment is neat, in an historical building which is located in the Trastevere neighborhood, which is known all over Italy for its "osterie". If you don't mind walking a little bit, then it's the perfect location to visit the Vatican (you can reach it through the Giannicolo hill where's a panoramic view of the city), the ancient Rome, the beautiful squares and the Baroque fountains which are spread all over the city centre.
The only downsides are: to get to your bed you have to bend on your knees (which could be funny and romantic, but may not suit everyone) and it could be noisy at night during the weekends. Upsides: live the nightlife of Rome in the most quaint (and safe) neighborhood of the city; all the main spots of the city are within walking distance.
Fabrizio's place is very nice. Well located in Trastevere but near the most important places to sigthseeing. The apartment is clean and warm. Fabrizio is always willing to help and suggested us good places to go.
In the downside, the street is noisy during the night and the bed is very close to the cieling of the aparment.
I would recommend this place for sure.
