Manuela was a great host and her apartment extremely pleasent and very clean in a typical Tuscanian village.
Castelmuzio is a lovely town in the heart of Val D'Orcia and it was a great experience to stay in such a quiet place, a short drive from everything. The apartment is cosy, clean and functional and Manuela was very easy to communicate with. I definitely recommend this place!
We stayed a week in the design appartment and felt very much at home. The village is lovely, the next door cafe serves a good breakfast. Although it was mid July the appartment was not warm at all so we slept well. For us it was an ideal spot to explore the region. Spacious and decorated with taste.
Loved this place and Castelmuzio. It's a great town to relax with amazing food. Loved Manuela's place it was clean and tidy and the bed was just amazing. We had great night sleeps as the bed was very comfortable. There is a restaurant right opposite the house and a coop for groceries about three min walk. The only drawback was not enough kitchen equipment to cook in the house. Because it's quite a small town the restaurant opening hours varied and we had to prepare food at home sometimes. We somehow managed with the limited equipment. Amazing stay. Thank you Manuela
Manuela was easy to communicate with and adjusted to our late decision to go to Siena before coming to the flat, which delayed our arrival by several hours. Her friend Alicia met us there with the keys, and although she didn't speak English, she quickly got someone who did to help answer our questions,
The flat is very nice and clean, and the town is beautiful. Unfortunately there was no A/C, and it was a warm night, so many people were out in the town and it was really noisy for such a tiny village. Better to visit during cooler weather.
Incredibly quaint village and unbelievably quiet, we were both amazed and delighted. No other tourists here. Neighbours very friendly, but nobody speaks english.
The host was very helpful in providing emailed information (at the last minute) when we thought the hire car wasn’t going to happen for us, but we did get a car in the end. I wouldn’t recommend visiting without your own wheels. Apartment is lovely and spotlessly clean. The bed was the most comfortable of our whole trip. Perhaps the only option for eating out was closed the first night – handy Co-op nearby to get supplies though. We cooked at ‘home’ using the limited utensils and enjoyed a couple of good contemporary videos provided in the apartment.
Overall, a great experience and perfect location from which to see this part of Tuscany.
This is a beautiful little apartment, perfect for two people but easily able to accommodate four on account of the rather swish sofa beds in the lounge. The place is clean and sparsely decorated in a good way, and it is situated right in the centre of the village - on the main road within the town walls. The host was very accommodating, when we wanted to stay longer this was no problem. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit the town of Castelmuzio.
The only drawback is that although a large hob is provided in the kitchen, there is very little kitchen equipment, such as cutting boards and knives, so you have to eat out or eat light while you're there - not a problem as there is a perfectly pleasant and good value hotel restaurants across the road.
