Really nice room to stay, specially after such a long day we had, we had a perfect night.
Great stay in a convienient location! My girlfriend and I sayed at Maria's place for an engagement party in the city and couldn't have been happier! The place was clean, private, and Maria is extremely accomodating! We had rented bikes one day and couldn't return them to the shop before close; Maria without question, allowed us to stow our bikes in the back until the next morning!
There is a nice kitchenette area with a fridge and microwave - a nice welcoming touch was the coffee, tea, popcorn and pistachios Maria left for us!
The place is garden level, without a view, but we didn't spend much time in the apartment as we were out on the town. The place had Easy access to the bus system, was in a quiet/safe neigborhood, and had a comfy pullout bed (Probably about a queen size). This place was great value - would stay again.
My husband and I had a wonderful time in San Fransisco and it was greatly impacted by our wonderful stay! Maria is so accommodating! We were running late for check in and she graciously waited for us and provided wonderful recommendations for activities, restaurants, etc.
The space was just what we were looking for and loved how walkable the location was to shops and restaurants!!
We would recommend this for anyone wanting a nice place to return to after a day adventuring the San Fransisco hills!
The room is very comfortable and in a very nice location. I walked to Haight-Ashbury many times during my stay. Golden Gate park is also within walking distance. Maria is very hospitable and a very nice person. I would recommend her place.
I booked Maria's Garden studio for my parents' visit to San Francisco as they needed a place to stay while in the city. During their stay, Maria was very nice and helpful and accommodating most of the needs, but I wish my parents had the same experience with the studio itself. The pictures here are what you will get. There is no question about that, but, it is missing some information about it: 1) If you need a place to hang your clothes - there is a very small hanging closet in the bathroom! Nothing that can be used for more than a few shirts/pants. If you want use some drawers and place out your clothes, there is none! All of the drawers in the room are filled with the owner's stuff. My parents stayed for a week long and had no where to place their clothes which is odd as it is not really mentioned in the ad. 2). The entrance to the studio is private as mentioned, but it is done through the garage door. Although there is a side door, you get a remote control in order to get in/out of the building. 3). Although there is a small fridge in he room, there is really no sink you can use in case you wish to wash your dishes/fruits or food you decide to store in the apartment. It is clearly stayed that you can not cook in the place, which is fine since there is no realy kitchen or anywhere to cook, but in case you want to have some fruits or make yourself some tea/coffee, you really don't have anywhere to wash your dishes. For that you will have to either use the small bathroom's sink or take it to the service sink in the garage, which is far from being clean and kinda gross. There is a small plastic container which you can use for that, but its not a nice experience. 4). Although SF is a place that you want to be outside and hangout most of your time, it is kind of nice to have the option, at night, to come back to your apartment, relax, read and watch some TV. Unfortunately, unless you have a mac and cable account with online live content, you really don't have any option for that. The Mac screen as shown in the picture is probably is there for the owner's use when no one is renting the place, otherwise, plan on brining a connector and figuring out how to use it as there is no option. 5) Although this is a private garden - the apartment above has a small kid that at 6-7 am wakes up and runs in the house. Since it is an old building, the level of noise is noticeable and kind of disturbing if you are not planning on waking up that early. Overall, this garden studio is place if you in the need to just have a warm bed...
The listing is accurate. Great Location. However, I think it is expensive for the value, especially considering there is not breakfast offered.
Privacy is minimal, even with all the drapery drawn as there is one side window that does not have any drapery and is lined up with the children's main play area. The children are very loud.
I just returned from a great trip to SF and Maria's Garden Studio was exactly as advertised. The location could not have been better, in close proximity to great food, Golden Gate Park and a number of friends I have in the area. Maria was very nice and very responsive, she even gave us guest passes to the Academy of Science in GGP which was a great experience. I did not spend much time in the Studio, but it was a great place to sleep and the pull out couch was surprisingly comfortable. I would return!
