"When we read Sunny's review, we were very unsure and considered canceling the booking. We still decided to book the villa for a week. The villa was very clean, in good condition and does justice to the pictures. Individual signs of wear are normal and a wooden terrace is no longer as good as new as soon as the wood is in the damp jungle. That should go without saying. We had a wonderful time.We would come again!" - Nadin Oct 2021

New slider doors installed June 2022 - Now w/fibre optic wifi.

The space
Los Proyectos Moderno is a modern villa nestled in lush jungle 15 mins from Punta Uva Beach. Perched on a secluded 2-acre lot and surrounded by infinite pristine nature, LPM is a pool getaway of palm trees and endless Instagrams tucked away in the Gandoca Manzanillo wildlife reserve.

Like Tulum, Punta Uva is destined to be a favorite amongst the fashionable bohemians.

• We recommend a 4x4 vehicle, to access the property •

Upon entering the house, you’ll be greeted with lush jungle just beyond your private observation deck, complete with plunge pool, lounge chairs, and outdoor ceiling fans. Open up the custom sliding doors across the house and enjoy the ultimate experience in indoor/outdoor jungle living.

Continue exploring the house and you’ll find a master bedroom including a king size bed and private bathroom, and a second bedroom with two twin beds (which can be pushed together) and another private bathroom. The kitchen houses a refrigerator with freezer, an induction cooktop, coffee maker, blender, cookware, dinnerware, glassware, and silverware.

Less than 15 minutes from the shore of Punta Uva, this house is located 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) off the main road, up a dirt mountain road. Nestled in the jungle, quite secluded, and surrounded by trees housing monkeys, sloths, and tucans, you’re a scenic 20 minute drive to the heart of Puerto Viejo.

Although most vehicles would make it up the dirt road, it is highly recommend that our guests rent a four-wheel-drive vehicle as the road can get quite muddy during extended periods of rainfall.

It is important to note that this is quite literally a house in the middle of the jungle. Although nature lovers will rejoice when waking to the sounds of howler monkeys and occasionally watching them migrate through the trees, the jungle is also home to much smaller animals, including insects, reptiles and amphibians. We ask that you please respect Mother Nature and all of her inhabitants, big and small. Fires are never allowed.

Water pumps directly to the house from a well on the property, allowing fully functional kitchen and restrooms. Please note that paper towels, toilet paper, and hygiene products should NEVER be flushed in the toilets, and all garbage and waste should be packed neatly so as not to attract local dogs or other animals.

Due to the secluded location, wifi is not currently available and your cell phone service will be limited. Take pleasure in the ultimate rest and relaxation experience in the privacy of your own jungle home, and enjoy reliable wifi and cell service all throughout town.

Guest access
Bask in indoor/outdoor living as you open up your glass sliding doors and expand your living space right onto your private observation deck, complete with plunge pool (with massage jets) and lounge chairs. Nature lovers and adventurists are free to explore the wild thicket of the jungle and discover all nature has to offer.

Other things to note
• The nearest international airport is in San Jose: Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría (SJO). Puerto Viejo is approximately a 4 to 5 hour drive from San Jose in regular traffic. Rental cars are available in San Jose through most large rental car agencies. It is highly recommend for our guests to have a 4X4 vehicle. Although most vehicles could may the drive, four-wheel-drive may be required during heavier rain, which can be unpredictable. If you don’t want to drive from San Jose to Puerto Viejo, private cars, taxis, and plane/helicopter charters are available. However, you will still be required to rent a vehicle in Puerto Viejo (Alamo or Adobe only) as most taxis will not drive up the mountain road.

Lives in New York, New York
Although originally from Manhattan NY, I recently built a small home from scratch on the Caribbean Side of Costa Rica. Developed as a refuge from the pressures of the New York City Lifestyle, Los Proyectos has turned into a project of love. As a professional producer/DJ the off-grid nature of LPM is perfect for inspiring creativity. Music, traveling, food and nature are my passions. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my partner and our boston terrier, Milo.
