Interaction with Guests
I love to interact with my guests but am also happy to give them all the space and privacy they desire. Even though my work keeps me pretty busy I am always delighted to share any insights that I have about the neighborhood and this great city!
I love this neighborhood! It has a small town vibe with big city attractions. You can walk to Whole Foods or a local coffee shop and run into a bunch of friends or you can enjoy great restaurants, museums, concerts, and major events just a few blocks away. The street is quiet at night but night life is a quick walk or cab ride away. Center City is easy to get to via public transportation and there are great places to walk, hike, or cycle nearby.
There are numerous ways to get around. The No. 33 bus stop is less than a block away and takes you into the heart of Center City, Philadelphia. The subway is 5 blocks away and takes you North and South on the Broad St Line which connects you to routes all over the city. Cabs are easy to access and the whole area is wonderfully walkable.
Other Things to Note
The space is above a yoga/dance studio so there may be times when classes are being held in the space below. Guests can enjoy the vibe of the classes, move to a quiet room next door, or visit one of the many great cafes or coffee shops in the neighborhood. (Feel free to contact me for more specific scheduling information.)
Smoking is not allowed in the studio. No pets are allowed without prior approval. I want my guests to relax and enjoy themselves but would request that they leave the place as they found it and take care of it as if it were their own home.
Valerie was very easy to communicate with and was available, even with our changing schedule.
When we checked in, she gave us detailed information about our stay and even provided us with helpful hints about Philly (i.e., local restaurants, transport, etc). The "room" was equipped with towels, toiletries, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. She also provided us with a parking spot right outside of her building. We could not have asked for more - she really knows how to welcome guests for AirBnB. Her space is very unique and was perfect for our stay. We would definitely stay again!
The room was very , it was everything described and more. Safe quiet neighborhood and the host was very accommodating even though we showed up pretty late
We throughly enjoyed our stay in Valerie's cozy room. Everything is just as described. Valerie obviously has her guests' comfort in mind both with the welcome fruit and other conveniences in the room and with the tourist information about Philadelphia. She was very helpful too with her own suggestions and in all of her communications with us. The location is ideal; we would definitely (website hidden) Her smoothies are terrific!
Very nice and friendly house, just like Valerie.
Everything was so clean and organized to make our stay more confortable.
The room is just as described in the website. The neighborhood is very nice, so close from the Art Museum and 10 minutes away from the city center by a bus you can take one minute away from the house.
We only can say thank you to Valerie, her "welcome pack" and her willingness with anything we may need.
Taking part in one of Valerie´s yoga classes was something we really enjoyed.
Cozy Room is a great space in the Art Museum area; the neighborhood felt safe and friendly and was easily walkable from Center City. The space was clean and comfortable, and Valerie provides a lot of thoughtful of details that demonstrate how much she cares about her guests (e.g. fresh fruit in your room!).
Valerie was a lovely host; polite, welcoming and interested, while at the same time granting me plenty of privacy. Would love to go back at some point and stay for a yoga class!
Host gave us great instructions on how to travel to and fron the airport, as well as around town. She had a fruit basket for us as well as snacking foods. She was also extremely personable, approachable and free with us.
Lovely place to stay in Philadelphia! The place was exactly as shown on the pictures, and the room had a cozy and homey feeling to it. Valerie was also a very nice host, offering a small fruit basket when we arrived, and fresh smoothies in the morning! Would definitely recommend it!

About the Host, Valerie
I'm a yoga, dance, and fitness instructor and I've lived in the Philadelphia Art Museum Area for over 25 years. I love this neighborhood because it is it in the heart of the city's favorite attractions but still has a neighborhood feel. I love to walk or bike in Fairmount Park, enjoy the many restaurants within 5 blocks (This city has really great food!), traveling, meeting all kinds of people, listening to live jazz, etc. I enjoy meeting different people and hearing about their experiences, professions and travels. I have a 2 friendly cats that you might meet but will never be in your space so allergies are not an issue. If you happen to love yoga, fitness, or belly dance classes you might find time to take a class right here at the Studio. Feel free to stop in, stretch out and enjoy your stay in Philadelphia- looking forward to meeting you!
