Guests will have full access to the bedroom, bathroom, and shared common areas (living room, kitchen, outdoor space).
Interaction with Guests
I love to interact with my guests but am also happy to give them all the space and privacy they desire. Even though my work keeps me pretty busy I am always delighted to share any insights that I have about the neighborhood and this great city!
I love this neighborhood! It has a small town vibe with big city attractions. You can walk to Whole Foods or a local coffee shop and run into a bunch of friends or you can enjoy great restaurants, museums, concerts, and major events just a few blocks away. The street is quiet at night but night life is a quick walk or cab ride away. Center City is easy to get to via public transportation and there are great places to walk, hike, or cycle nearby.
There are numerous ways to get around. The No. 33 bus stop is less than a block away and takes you into the heart of Center City, Philadelphia. The subway is 5 blocks away and takes you North and South on the Broad St Line which connects you to routes all over the city. Cabs are easy to access and the whole area is wonderfully walkable.
Other Things to Note
The space is above a yoga/dance studio so there may be times when classes are being held in the space below. Guests can enjoy the vibe of the classes, move to a quiet room next door, or visit one of the many great cafes or coffee shops in the neighborhood. (Feel free to contact me for more specific scheduling information.)
Smoking is not allowed in the studio. No pets are allowed without prior approval. I want my guests to relax and enjoy themselves but would request that they leave the place as they found it and take care of it as if it were their own home.
This was my first airbnb experience and it was great! The description and pictures were accurate. Valerie and her two cats welcomed us when we arrived. The place is located in the center of the city. Valerie also provided us city information including restaurants and transportation system. She offered smoothie for breakfast but we had to leave early so we didn't get a chance to try it. (After reading other's review, I regret not getting one :p) The room was cozy and comfortable. I definitely recommend this place and I would stay again if I return to Philadelphia!
Valerie is very nice! Her place is amazing. Beautiful, bright, airy and so comfortable. We walked to everything and the neighborhood is beautiful. Great place, we would definitely recommend it.
Valerie greeted me when I arrived. There was a class just starting but she quickly gave me the key and showed me around. The description is accurate of the space as are the pictures. I found check-in and out to be very easy. I did not have a problem with the parking. Valerie's smoothie's are delicious! If you get a chance, take her up on the offer to make you one. You won't regret it. This place had a nice vibe and Valerie is very considerate. I found the area around it safe and restaurants easy and convenient to get to. I even went on a couple of walks alone in the neighborhood both at night and during the day. I enjoyed my stay and found the space relaxing and comfortable. I even enjoyed relaxing with one of the kitties on one of the nights.
The bathroom can be a bit of a hassle. The sink was very small for me to wash up in but the shower worked great (I'm talking about the downstairs bathroom which is the one used primarily for guests). The caveat like other people mentioned was that it is the public restroom for the yoga classes etc. so if you're worried about that, maybe using disinfecting wipes to clean down toilet/sink after a class before you use it would alleviate that. And, you do need to walk down the stairs and across the class room to get to the bathroom. Wasn't a problem for me and I get up at least once during the night. Thanks Valerie!
Great location! Near the freeway, city, restaurants and bars! Definitely would stay there again if I go back to Philly
Nos encantó la casa de Valerie: está bien ubicada, limpia, tiene mucho espacio y un baño muy cómodo. Se lo recomendamos a todos los que vayan a Filadelfia :)
The room is amazing. Comfortable, beautiful and have such a delicate decoration, so many specials details that made staying there a great experience.
The location is perfect and we made most of things walking (we walked a lot, but it is sure doable).
Valerie and her cats are lovely. We saw Valerie a few times, but she was nice and helpful all the time.
I definetely recommend it!

About the Host, Valerie
I'm a yoga, dance, and fitness instructor and I've lived in the Philadelphia Art Museum Area for over 25 years. I love this neighborhood because it is it in the heart of the city's favorite attractions but still has a neighborhood feel. I love to walk or bike in Fairmount Park, enjoy the many restaurants within 5 blocks (This city has really great food!), traveling, meeting all kinds of people, listening to live jazz, etc. I enjoy meeting different people and hearing about their experiences, professions and travels. I have a 2 friendly cats that you might meet but will never be in your space so allergies are not an issue. If you happen to love yoga, fitness, or belly dance classes you might find time to take a class right here at the Studio. Feel free to stop in, stretch out and enjoy your stay in Philadelphia- looking forward to meeting you!
