Interaction with Guests
I love to interact with my guests but am also happy to give them all the space and privacy they desire. Even though my work keeps me pretty busy I am always delighted to share any insights that I have about the neighborhood and this great city!
I love this neighborhood! It has a small town vibe with big city attractions. You can walk to Whole Foods or a local coffee shop and run into a bunch of friends or you can enjoy great restaurants, museums, concerts, and major events just a few blocks away. The street is quiet at night but night life is a quick walk or cab ride away. Center City is easy to get to via public transportation and there are great places to walk, hike, or cycle nearby.
There are numerous ways to get around. The No. 33 bus stop is less than a block away and takes you into the heart of Center City, Philadelphia. The subway is 5 blocks away and takes you North and South on the Broad St Line which connects you to routes all over the city. Cabs are easy to access and the whole area is wonderfully walkable.
Other Things to Note
The space is above a yoga/dance studio so there may be times when classes are being held in the space below. Guests can enjoy the vibe of the classes, move to a quiet room next door, or visit one of the many great cafes or coffee shops in the neighborhood. (Feel free to contact me for more specific scheduling information.)
Smoking is not allowed in the studio. No pets are allowed without prior approval. I want my guests to relax and enjoy themselves but would request that they leave the place as they found it and take care of it as if it were their own home.
Valerie's studio was an incredible space. The pictures were very accurate. Even though we did not have an opportunity to meet Valerie, she was very responsive and very pleasant. Despite her absence, she was still able to make us feel welcome by having her friend Karen be her proxy.
valerie's studio has a private parking spot that is an incredible amenity to come across in Philly. The studio is in a lovely area that is very walkable and within a couple of blocks from a city bus stop.
We were also greeted by Valerie's handsome cats. We are not allergic to our feline friends and they are very sweet and provided for good company.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here and would absolutely stay again on another Philly visit.
Valerie's place is very clean and comfortable and I had it all to myself.
Great stay and location along with the parking accommodation.
This little cozy room was perfect for me and my wife. We spent two nights there and we really felt at home. Although Valerie was away and we didn't get to meet her, her friend Karen took care of all of our needs. Cleanliness and attention to detail was what really impressed us. A bowl of fresh fruit and protein shakes were waiting for us when we got there and it was exactly what we needed after a long drive.
Perfectly located in a convenient location, this room was up to par and met all our expectations. We also made a new friend in Batman, one of the two resident cats. The other cat was too old to hang out with us but he was very friendly whenever we approached him.
I recommend this room to anyone who is looking to spend a comfortable night in Philadelphia. Always quiet, we always felt safe walking the streets around there.
Valerie was an excellent host. Her communication during the week before our stay was very good and friendly. When we arrived she met me outside and made sure I got a spot in front of her place. The room was clean and pleasant with a comfortable bed. She left fresh fruit and drinks out for us.
Her place is in a cute neighborhood that's convenient to everything. We were in town to catch a rock concert at the Wells Fargo Center and it was a fairly short walk to the subway which went right to the arena. Nice and close to museums and the historic Eastern State Penitentiary which was quite interesting. Many good restaurants and cute pubs in the neighborhood. Can recommend the Blue Cat restaurant near by that has awesome Latin food. Thanks Valerie, look forward to visiting again.
I loved to stay at Valerie's Place. Very close to the city and Valerie is a nice host. Many thx to make my days in Philadelphia that nice.
By far one of my best and most favorite air bnb experiences. Valerie has great energy and provides a well stocked and comfortable environment for your stay. The location itself is in a great proximity to lots of historical and cultural activities. Can't wait to go back!
Valerie is a super cool lady who was very inviting and made the unique and beautiful place very welcoming! I used to live in the neighborhood, so I didn't need as much direction or city tips as others might need, but Valerie had all the information you could possibly need about philadelphia. I highly recommend taking one of her classes if you get the chance- the yoga class I attended was relaxing and left me feeling very energized and centered. Hope to book again next time I'm in philly!

About the Host, Valerie
I'm a yoga, dance, and fitness instructor and I've lived in the Philadelphia Art Museum Area for over 25 years. I love this neighborhood because it is it in the heart of the city's favorite attractions but still has a neighborhood feel. I love to walk or bike in Fairmount Park, enjoy the many restaurants within 5 blocks (This city has really great food!), traveling, meeting all kinds of people, listening to live jazz, etc. I enjoy meeting different people and hearing about their experiences, professions and travels. I have a 2 friendly cats that you might meet but will never be in your space so allergies are not an issue. If you happen to love yoga, fitness, or belly dance classes you might find time to take a class right here at the Studio. Feel free to stop in, stretch out and enjoy your stay in Philadelphia- looking forward to meeting you!
