Interaction with Guests
I love to interact with my guests but am also happy to give them all the space and privacy they desire. Even though my work keeps me pretty busy I am always delighted to share any insights that I have about the neighborhood and this great city!
I love this neighborhood! It has a small town vibe with big city attractions. You can walk to Whole Foods or a local coffee shop and run into a bunch of friends or you can enjoy great restaurants, museums, concerts, and major events just a few blocks away. The street is quiet at night but night life is a quick walk or cab ride away. Center City is easy to get to via public transportation and there are great places to walk, hike, or cycle nearby.
There are numerous ways to get around. The No. 33 bus stop is less than a block away and takes you into the heart of Center City, Philadelphia. The subway is 5 blocks away and takes you North and South on the Broad St Line which connects you to routes all over the city. Cabs are easy to access and the whole area is wonderfully walkable.
Other Things to Note
The space is above a yoga/dance studio so there may be times when classes are being held in the space below. Guests can enjoy the vibe of the classes, move to a quiet room next door, or visit one of the many great cafes or coffee shops in the neighborhood. (Feel free to contact me for more specific scheduling information.)
Smoking is not allowed in the studio. No pets are allowed without prior approval. I want my guests to relax and enjoy themselves but would request that they leave the place as they found it and take care of it as if it were their own home.
A great spot. The room is neat and comfortable, and Valerie makes you feel at home. It's in a great location and has the added bonus of being on a quiet street - slept great! Would stay again.
Valerie was a superb host. She was flexible and understanding about my shifting check-in time, made me feel welcome on arrival, and has created an incredibly cool, interesting and quiet atmosphere. The yoga studio the next morning was a great and unique plus!!
We had a great time. Valerie was there to welcome us into this unique space and gave us all the comforts that would be expected at any hotel. She pointed us in the right direction for things to do and places to eat. We even got to do a wonderful yoga class in the downstairs studio. We would definitely go back!
Valerie was a wonderful host. She had the right balance of warmth and concern for our questions and also allowed us the space to feel like we were in our own home. The room was exactly as we expected and the neighborhood made the city and art museums accessible.
Valerie is great! Waiting for us was a small basket of fruit, 2 water bottles, a printed out copy of instructions how to use the apartment, list of public transit options, and restaurants in the area.
Valerie was a very nice host with a beautiful and unique space. She was very helpful with guiding us towards restaurants/bars in the immediate area. My boyfriend and I went for Valentine's Day and she even left us chocolates and set up decorative lights! She also gives you a discounted price for her studio classes if you are a guest. Thank you!
Valerie was very welcoming and accommodating. When I arrived, the space was as depicted: clean and beautiful. I recommend a stay here!

I'm a yoga, dance, and fitness instructor and I've lived in the Philadelphia Art Museum Area for over 25 years. I love this neighborhood because it is it in the heart of the city's favorite attractions but still has a neighborhood feel. I love to walk or bike in Fairmount Park, enjoy the many restaurants within 5 blocks (This city has really great food!), traveling, meeting all kinds of people, listening to live jazz, etc. I enjoy meeting different people and hearing about their experiences, professions and travels. I have a 2 friendly cats that you might meet but will never be in your space so allergies are not an issue. If you happen to love yoga, fitness, or belly dance classes you might find time to take a class right here at the Studio. Feel free to stop in, stretch out and enjoy your stay in Philadelphia- looking forward to meeting you!
