The neighborhood is a lively, fun neighborhood. Many restaurants, bars, nightlife, shopping, as well as playgrounds, parks, free entertainment, jazz. It has everything.
Lenox avenue has great places like Corner Social, Red Rooster, Chez Lucienne. All of which are open late, with outside cafes, so I feel safe walking alone at night.
Harlem is one of the friendliest neighborhoods I lived in, in NYC.
No burning incense. It is very hard to get the smell out.
Everything was perfect! The place provides an extremely good deal for the price we pay in relation to the space we actually have. I agree with the other posters that the place is much bigger than how it looks in the pictures!
Super efficient and easy welcome ! Very very nice flat with everything one could need. Ferris and Aaron keep available and kind and have a very nice family with kids. Neighborhood is simply what we dreamed of before going to NY !!!! Wonderful Harlem, 5mn walk from 125th tube station, alive and easy going.
1. Ferris made me feel welcome and at ease, answering all my questions and respecting my privacy. She was so kind!
2. This apartment is amazing. Clean, cool, safe, and such a nice plus that when you rent it you have it all to yourself.
I would recommend this location to anyone thinking of coming to NYC. It appears to be in an "up and coming" part of Harlem and I felt safe the entire time. Ferris concurred that it's a safe area (she lives upstairs with her husband and 3 young kids).
Great find. Thank you Ferris and Airbnb!
About the Host, Ferris
Hi I'm a stay at home to 3 awesome kids. My husband and I recently bought and renovated our home. We've lived in NYC for close to 20 years, but just moved to Harlem a few months ago. We LOVE the neighborhood. Great neighbors. Feel super safe even out late at night.
I love to eat out, dance and entertain.
We don't smoke and don't have any pets.
Pretty laid back, so if you have questions or need anything feel free to ask.
When we travel we stay in apartments as oppose to hotels so we know what it's like to be a guest in an apartment. We've had some funny, cool experiences in other places. I hope you like staying at our place
The best fried chicken!! Love this soul food buffet! On weekend nights, enjoy your food while you listen to live jazz. Located right on the corner from our place.
