About this listing
This snug apartment (43 m2) is in an area of Munich called "Au" in a little side street in an old building which is covered all over with wine. It's a basement apartment that leads to a nice backyard.
It has a living room that is separated from the sleeping area through a corner and has an old wooden floor. The bathroom has a bathtub. The kitchen is an extra room and is fully equipped. The toilet is an extra room as well. Washing machine, fridge, stove, microwave and kettle available.
The bed is 120 cm wide - so if you are two persons, you should be a couple or close friends ;)
Public transportation is just around the corner, 3 Minute walk to the underground railway, which leads to the Central Station in 5 minutes, or two minutes to a bus station, which leads in 10 minutes to the city center, Marienplatz. There is also a tram that leads to the city center and the central station.
Nearby (1 - 15 minutes) are many nice cafés, restaurants, bars, but also museums, movie theaters, supermarkets and shopping opportunities in general.
Haustiere sind wegen einer heftigen Tierhaar-Allergie bitte ausdrücklich verboten. Vielen Dank!
Pets are strictly forbidden, due to highly allergic reaction. Thank you!
Esther was a great host, she arranged with a near by restaurant for us to pick-up the keys and gave a lot of information and instructions so it was easy to find her place. The apartment is very cosy and clean with towels and all! The location is great, near from the Marienplatz with the bus only 5-10 min, and metro station just 3 min walk away from the apartment. Definitely walkable distance on a sunny day!
We spent three nights at Esther's apartment during Oktoberfest this year. The apartment is in a central location very close to the city center and was conveniently located from the Oktoberfest ground too.
I haven't rented an apartment in the past (have mostly stayed in hotels, BnBs and hostels), but the hospitality we received was beyond what I expected. With the Oktoberfest mayhem, we lost out way back to the apartment and got really late for our onward journey. She escorted us till the train station (for a train at 11PM) so we don't get lost and miss our train!!
Added benefit - the coffee and tea selection!!
Big thumbs up and highly recommended!
Esther is AMAZING!!!
I had a hard time getting to Munich and was very late and she changed her plans and stayed to meet me with the keys and tons of very good information. I went for Ocktoberfest and she helped me with solid advice on how to get there, what to see and most importantly: what to avoid. Way before my trip she stayed in contact and emailed me some tourist information she put together herself. Esther is welcoming and warm and her place is the perfect place to stay in Munich. Everything is close by, the transportation is great and the street of the apartment is quiet so you can sleep when you want to. If I head back to Munich I would definitely check if Esther's place is available. She made my trip perfect!! Not to mention the coffee!!
Esther, Thank you so much for hosting me!
Great apartment near the centre of Munich old town! Walking distance from science museum and various attractions. Very clean and well kept! Highly recommended!!
Eine schöne, gemütliche Wohnung! Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und werde bei nächster Gelegenheit wieder dort übernachten! Danke!
About the Host, Esther
I am a collector of good moments: Behold and do beautiful things.
I am cheerful, creative, and curious.
I have a job that suits me just fine. Apart from that I dedicate myself to a quite possessive muse: Music. I sing and play guitar, ukulele and a little bass.
I need to spend quality time with my friends frequently, to discuss how to gain world supremacy (without much result) or to discuss matters of the heart (same) or to dwell on total senselessness (same), preferably with good wine and food.
I have to go diving at least once a year, if I can't be near an ocean, I'll loose my sanity and get very unpleasant. I love to travel, but I love coming home, also.
I like to read, watch and listen to everything that sparks my interest, which is hard to squeeze into a certain criteria.
