Villa Laba Puseh is a brand new, 2 bedroom villa, located in the quiet village of Penestanan on the outskirts of Ubud. It is tranquil and peaceful with a beautiful pool. Great restaurants, juice bars, and yoga studios within walking distance.
Brand new in September, 2013, Villa Laba Puseh, is everything you could want in a holiday vacation home! The name, which means 'Land of Vishnu, The Preserver', is located on Temple Land in the quiet village of Penestanan, on the outskirts of Ubud, the cultural hub of Bali. This location is ideal, as you can enjoy both easy access to Ubud, (20 minute walk or $3 taxi ride) but return to your peaceful and quiet villa after your excursions.
Built with your enjoyment in mind, Laba Puseh was designed by blending the artistic talents that the Balinese are known for with the natural beauty of the outdoors. The villa is a visual feast for your eyes, as Balinese architectural details have been used throughout the entire property. These details include hand-carved wooden and stone window surrounds, gorgeous hand matted bamboo ceilings, and a coy pond you walk over to reach your front door. More than 1,000 man hours of stone-carved features are artfully placed throughout the property. At night the villa, garden and pool are beautifully lit for your continued pleasure.
The villa features two bedrooms with Balinese design four poster beds and furniture. Both bedrooms are fully air conditioned, but you may choose to enjoy the cooling natural breezes and overhead fans-the choice is yours. Each bedroom has its own bath, both showcasing beautiful, stone showers set in decorative, outdoor gardens.
In addition to being adorned with beautiful Balinese hand-carved furniture, the living room area also features a fully-equipped entertainment center for your enjoyment. Included for your entertainment pleasure are a flat screen TV with USB music port, Indovision cable TV providing international programming, a DVD player with an array of both children and adult DVD selections, and an IPOD dock. There is also a small library with books about various aspects of Balinese culture.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware and appliances, should you wish to prepare some of your own snacks or meals. The dining room features a marbled topped table, although you may choose to (email hidden), which is adorned with hand-carved, stone features.
The true artistic feature of the property is the swimming pool which features an amazing hand-carved sandstone surround. Water gently trickles down the wall underneath this feature and is complimented by water spouting from a replica of a temple fountain head. Next to the pool is an outdoor shower where you can rinse off. Hand woven sun beds and colorful towels complete your pool experience.
Bali is known as the Island of the Gods, so it is important to me to both respect and participate in the local spiritual customs. My family Temple and Kemara are located on the property, and on various ceremonial days beautiful baskets of hand made offerings and incense will be brought to the villa.
Centrally located in the village of Penestanan, Laba Puseh is set back from the main road and is surrounded by rice fields. It is a five minute walk to a variety of restaurants including organic eateries and juice bars, coffee bars and bakeries, and the wonderful local Balinese warungs of which Ibu Putu's is the most famous. For more upscale dining, Bridges Restaurant is just a few minutes away. There are also a plethora of restaurants to explore in Ubud.
Your vacation villa has access to many other activities which you may find enjoyable. Laba Puseh is directly adjacent to Eve Spa, a full treatment spa center, where you can enjoy a relaxing massage, body scrub, flower petal bath, or a selection of half or full day combination packages. A variety of yoga studios and meditation centers are just a short stroll from your front door. Both the Ubud Market and the well-known Monkey Forest Road can be easily accessed after a short taxi ride or a leisurely walk through town.
Your villa manager, Ketut Puja, is available for airport transportation and can also take you on a variety of trips including Temple and village tours. Most of the villages in the Ubud area specialize in their own handicrafts, and you can find anything from wood and stone carvings, to paintings to silver jewelry, just to name a few.
Bali offers a wide variety of activities to choose from, including scuba diving ship wrecks, elephant riding in the jungle, hiking through rice fields, or strolling through museums and art galleries. Be as active as you want or just relax by the beautiful pool and read a book....your Balinese adventure awaits you!
(NOTE: If you are already in Bali, contact the Villa Manager, Ketut Puja, at teleph(phone number hidden) or (phone number hidden) direct booking. If interested, inquire about reduced rates without daily breakfast and only twice weekly maid service.)

Cheri is available by e-mail or phone to answer all of your questions and help you with your plans . A wonderful Balinese couple will take care of all your needs once you arrive and make you feel like family!
The village of Penestanan is safe and small town friendly. Enjoy exploring the village on the footpaths that criss cross throughout.
Nice new villa located in a quiet part of Ubud. We did enjoy these 5 days.
Cheri's sweet villa just outside of Ubud was an absolute dream! We are two couples traveling from the US and the two bedroom spot was absolutely perfect for the four of us!
Just a quick taxi or scooter ride into central Ubud or a little walk, this place is tucked away from the buzz of the "city" but there's still plenty right outside the door. Eve spa was incredibly affordable for a day of pampering, Round Bar was great for a good cocktail and fun, friendly atmosphere, and Alchemy was the perfect eatery for us spoiled Californians...if you like organic vegan fare.
Although we weren't able to meet Cheri in person, she was always available by email and more than accommodating. Ketut and Made were very sweet and helpful!
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some R&R near Ubud!
Alex, thank you for the kind words and I am so glad you enjoyed the villa! I am also happy that you took advantage of everything within a few minutes walk from my home including the local eateries and Eve Spa. I look forward to your return the next time you are in Bali!
I live on the Caribbean island of Antigua and have been involved in the tourism industry my entire life. I am adventurous and love to travel. I fell in love with Bali with my very first visit and felt that I had "come home" and knew that I wanted a life long connection with the peace, tranquility and spirituality of this beautiful island. Villa Laba Puseh is my home where I can go to totally reconnect with nature and myself.
