David was a good host. You can talk with him about everything. We learn a lot of him about American and Hawaiian Culture. He could give us tipps for Big Island and the other Island.
David is a fantastic and amiable person, really enjoyed chatting with him and learned a lot of trivia about the big island. Take advantage of David and his collection of big Island books, both will come handy when you are traveling around the island. Ask what he can offer you if you are into cooking.
Great room setup, quiet neighborhood, comes with a parking space and a pool(though we didn't get to use) Would totally stay at David's if I have another chance.
Don't forget to ask about Frank!

New to airbnb, we were very pleased with our stay. The room was clean, the airbed comfortable, and completely supportive for our 60+ year old bodies. We didn't use all of the amenities, however, all that appears on the listing was available to us. Important to us was cleanliness, the private bath, and the parking. The pool and hot tub were a bonus. What a great value.
David and Margo are really good, kind people. We had a 6AM flight (I Know!) so we said our goodbyes the night before. The next morning Dave was up at 3, packing us a hot breakfast, with special consideration for one vegetarian, way beyond our expectations. Mahalo Nui. We were very impressed.
David was very helpful and polite. However, the photos are slight misleading and it was an air bed, didn't have internet access and not air conditioned.
Aloha,I stayed in David's house for 9 days in Feb. It was clean and comfortable. Also David is very kind and gave many helpful information of Big Island, beachs, restaurent,a lot of places to visit and i cook a very nice dinner, 4 services(A very good cook). I really recommend you David's house.
Generally, David is a great man. He is very knowledgeable about everything happened on the island and can always give useful suggestions. We hired him as a driver taking us to have round trip the big island, which is really a fantastic trip! The surrounding is the same as described in his post. In particular, the spa of the swimming pool is very enjoyable though it is a little bit too hot. His home is very clean and the carpet is comfortable. He is a very good chief and knowledgeable about many cooking styles.
However, my reason to give four stars (not five star) is as follows. Although he listed in the post saying no wifi but cable connecting to Internet, the cable connect was very unstable. We could only surf the internet on his Mac for about 20 mins and it disconnected automatically afterwards. Nobody knew when it could reconnect again though sometimes it could the next day. He recommended us to go to the resort nearby to use its free wifi (the only option), but we had a very bad experience being driven away by a staff of that resort. Why not install a wifi?
Moreover, he has very strict rules of kitchen (I really understand this because he is a chief), but he did not tell me the full rules (he did tell me main rules briefly). So sometimes when I slightly broke some rules, such as putting sth in wrong place, he would tell me how to do it seriously. Such things happened few times, which let me feel uncomfortable. The solution is really easy: since he really cares everything happening in kitchen, he should post a clear and complete kitchen rule in home and tell tenants beforehand.
