We recently stayed at David's apartments for a week long vacation in Paris. David gave us good instructions and all the information we needed a couple of days before our arrival. He was very responsive via email to any and all questions we had about the place. Unfortunately we never met David personally, but we haven't experienced any problem. Both check-in & check-out went smoothly and without any problems. He was very generous to let us for late check out.
The apartment looks just as it does on the photos. Nice and open view upon Paris roofs, the large windows which all open were very nice. There is great light and high ceilings that make it feel much bigger than it is. It was pretty clean, but it could have been cleaner... It had great Wi-Fi. Apartment is in a great location with a metro station right across the street and within walking distance of many beautiful sites. Very conveniently located at the Arts et Metier metro stop with cafes, patisseries, pharmacy and grocery right down stairs. But there are a lot of stairs to walk up, so it is not recommended for those with heavy and large luggage.
The apartment is good for two people (maybe with a child), it’s ok for three but you've got to be really close friends or family members who care less about privacy, the couch is not a great option to sleep on as it has sunken in. The bathroom is very narrow and tiny, especially my husband had some trouble with it. Not much is provided in the way of supplies; the toilet paper and dish soap was limited, its just enough for first day. There was no clean hand soap and I would have liked some extra towels for hair and face; it’s not enough for three people (Maybe my expectations are too high, don’t let it rule you!). There's no table to have meal for more than 2 people together. Some simple cooking utensils available for meals but firstly the cutlery and the kitchen utensils (especially dishes) had to be rewashed before use.
Overall, it was a good experience and I recommend this place. Thank you very much David.
At first I was nervous as to what we were getting ourselves in to because we had never use AirBnB before. Well I can tell you we were pleasantly surprised and will be using AirBnB from now on!
Although out of town when we arrived, David was always just a phone call away. He arranged for us to drop our bags in the flat much earlier than regular check in and was very helpful in getting us oriented in this unfamiliar city.
My first morning I noticed the blow drier wasn't working so I texted David and he arranged for a new one to be brought by immediately.
The flat was exactly as described... It was clean, the bed was beyond comfortable and the flat it is perfectly located to easily get to any attraction you want to see. I had read all the reviews before we stayed... and yes there certainly was not enough toilet paper for 2 people for 2 weeks... so thankfully we had brought a few rolls of our own lol. Other than that it was absolute Parisian perfection...right down to the view out the window. It was quite beautiful as the sun came up.
Thank you David for being such a wonderful attentive host. We will be staying with you again for sure!
Pros: David's instructions for how to get to the apartment was very clear and helpful. He was also great at communicating with us when our WIFI broke and we needed his help to call the technician to fix it. The location of the apartment was perfect and we loved the bakery across the street!
Cons: The apartment is only suitable for 2 people, as the couch is not a great option to sleep on as it has completely sunken in. The washroom is tiny, the toilet paper was limited and the hairdryer and washer was broken.
What a great location! Only a short stroll into Les Marais proper, where you will find it hard not to spend all your holiday money on gourmet ice cream and bio olive oil.
Onto the apartment- as David said in his welcome notes, the stairs are not for the faint of heart (or faint of breath!). But once you're inside, there is great light and high ceilings that make it feel much bigger than it is. Bachelor pad is the way to describe it: the enormous TV didn't hold appeal for three sightseers but it's there if you want it. The flat was clean for the most part, some dusty drawers but nothing horrific. The bathroom is small and in need of some refurbishment- fine for us but if you don't like confined spaces I would avoid.
Quite noisy outside on Saturday night, there seems to be a gathering point across the road. As we're from London it didn't bother us too much, but if you need silence to sleep it might.
All in all, this is a great point from which to explore the city.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely time in Paris in this apartment which was ideally situated (close to key tourist points whilst being out of the 'hustle bustle) with everything you needed close by (bakery cafe supermarket). I feel like the bathroom could be revamped slightly, however the rest of the flat was decorated very tastefully and the bed area was so cute and cosy.
The house is well located. it was easier to find. it has the metro station right in front of it.
The appartment is really small, specially the toillet. Due to a miss understanding there was not enought towels, but David was ready to help us sort that out.
There are loads of stairs until you reach the apartment which might be dificult to do if you're carrying heavy luggage.
David was really helpful and allow us to do the check in earlier.
