We've private rooms for Erasmus students / foreign visitors in a secure & crowded area in the heart of Taksim/Beyoglu. We're located very close to Tunel Square, a few steps away from Istiklal Street surrounded by historical atmosphere, close to the major shopping districts, public transport, historical places, consulates (we're side by side with Russian & Swedish Consulates f.e.)
Our facility has 10 private rooms and 1 private flat in different floors, and its suitable for long or short term accommodation needs.
Each room has its OWN bed, wardrobe & desk. There's also an unlimited WI-FI access, heating in every room and every room takes direct sunlight except one. Kitchen, bathroom and living room are shared areas in every floor except the privately rented apartments. You can take your shower whenever you want. There is hot water 24/7, you can watch TV and DvDs when you want to chill in front of the tv on a comfy couch.
Warning ! This room has just an inner window and no direct sunlight ! The room is quiet and comfortable but its located in the middle of the flat, so there's no direct contact with outside. The room has cooling fan during summer time and heater during winter time. This is why its price is lower than other rooms.
Please contact me personally for details, I hope I'll be able to help you! Feel free to ask me about safe transportation directly from airport to my location and enjoy your stay in Istanbul ! :)
IMPORTANT NOTE : This private room is located in a very quiet and silent street, especially at night time. During daytime there's noise of nearby school and thats all. There are no karaoke restaurants next to this building. (I'm especially saying this to avoid confusions because we had a flat next to karaoke restaurant in some other corner of our district)
If you come to Istanbul you just have to choose Ali's place. The apartment has the best location you can picture. It is close to Istiklal Cd and it takes you 1 min to get to the metro Sishane.
Ali is a very helping and welcoming host. All the guests I have met were friendly and interested in group activities, so it is even nice to hook up with someone.
All in all, I can highly recommend Ali's apartments to you. If you stay long term, make sure that you get a room with a window. I ended up in the Indian room (all other rooms were taken). It is very nice and clean, but not having a "real" window is not recommendable for a long term stay. But in general, the apartment was clean, comfy and if I ever return to Istanbul again I will stay with Ali for 10000% !!! :-)
I spent three nights at Ali's. It took me some time to find his place after leaving the metro when I first arrived so best to have a good map handy or check the exact route beforehand. It's easy once you know the way. Ali speaks English well and he was always polite in our exchanges before and after my arrival (mainly by email as he doesn't live on the same floor as the guests and I saw him twice, briefly). I'm used to having the airbnb host greet me with a map and general directions/advice, so I missed that but Ali sent some instructions via email which, along with input from other guests and the Internet, took care of the basics. The atmosphere is a mix between guesthouse/hostel/pension. The price is excellent. The surroundings are safe and it's near fun Istikal street with all its shops and restaurants. Public transportation nearby will take you to and from the historical center, where most attractions are ( if you don't mind a good walk or the many steep hills you can even try it on foot, as I did sometimes). My room was quiet and with character; it was not ready upon my evening arrival and I didn't mind making the bed but I had to wait till the next day for last guest's trash to be cleaned. Ali apologized for all this; his recent surgery was in part the reason. There is one bathroom for the five rooms on the floor and at times hygiene was lacking: there was no toilet paper for 12 hours and, when I checked out, the waste basket was so full it wouldn't close. I emailed Ali about the former, for which he also apologized, but explained to me that the long term guests (e.g. one living there for 2 years) were supposed to supply the toilet paper. Nonetheless, he brought 2 rolls at night. Fast Wifi, washing machine, extra pillow upon request and fan are a plus. An option for some, mainly young, low budget travelers.
I loved the location of Ali's apartment, it was on the hip side of town when both locals and tourists hang out, but not as touristy as the Sultanahmet area. From here, it is very easy to get to anywhere and you could either walk or take the funicular if you're tired. Ali was friendly and eager to help.
I won't give Ali thumbs up. Although he greeted me with a smile, when I asked him if I can get some shampoo he simply told me that he is away and end of conversation. At the time of my visit, Wi-Fi was unavailable; though Ali told me his area's internet was down for a while which was very unfortunate. Lightling was very deem, so I couldn't read a book or anything. Ali's place was nowhere close to Taksim Sq; it takes about 20 minutes to walk to Taksim Sq. Had he been more helpful, I would've given him a better review, but for my 1 night stay, I would pass...
For one night budget stay in Istambul, the location and the apartment could have not been better.
The house is located is in a very nice street with some cools cafes nearby and minutes away from the Galata tower. The entrance to the building is nice, well refurbished and very clean, The apartment is fresh and the living area and kitchen are tidy, comfortables and welcoming.
Mr Ali is very courteous, positive and accommodating.
I will definitely go back and check out the others rooms.
Ali is a wonderful host, very helpful and I can't imagine a better place to stay if you are planning to visit Istanbul. The flat has everything you need, and it is perfectly located. 100% recommended!!
Wow, It was great trip, mostly because of the place I stayed and a host - Ali. I didn't have any problems with transportation from/to anywhere to/from this spot. There are a lot of night clubs around, but I can't heard any sound in my room during night. There is always a good atmosphere inside the living room, and Ali is wery friendly and helpfull host. So I highly recommend you to stay there if you planning to visit Istambul.
My stay at Ali's place was absolutely amazing! I could not have asked for a better host or location. Ali's place is right off of Istiklal, the main street in Taksim, and it's in an incredibly safe area of (website hidden)'s right next door to a school which always has guards/people outside, so if you're traveling alone don't be afraid about walking down the street at night. Ali was incredibly responsive to all my questions, provided sheets, towels, water, maps, etc. and even arranged a cab to pick me up and bring me to the airport on the day of my departure.
As far as the room goes, it has all the necessities. I wouldn't say it's the same as staying in a five star hotel, but if all you need is a bed, hot water, and a place to store your things during your stay, it's absolutely perfect. Plus, as I mentioned before, you cannot beat the location! 20 mins to Sultanahmet by tram, five minute walk to the water, and two seconds away from Istiklal.
I highly recommend anyone thinking of staying in Istanbul stay with Ali! The people I met who were also staying in the apartment became fast friends and were incredibly respectful of my sleeping schedule and belongings. I can't thank Ali enough for all his help and support as I adjusted to traveling in Istanbul!
That's the best place I could have found! The people and the location are just awesome. The owner is nicest guy, who will easily help you on the city tips and the lifestyle with the other people in the building.
I highly recommand Ali' appartements.

And overall Ali is a super host, concerned by the well being of his hosts. He will provide you good tips as he knows well the city.
