Palm Garden Cottage in Town

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Dalley Street, Mullumbimby, NSW 2482, Australia

WINTER RATES FROM $90 PER NIGHT
The cottage, nestled in the back of my beautiful garden, is quiet and serene even though you are just one block from town. It comes with its own private garden and sits under an ancient mango tree. Can sleep 3 people.

The Space

You would never know that you were just one block from town. Everything is just a walk away from this private, quiet sanctuary. There is a gorgeous covered outdoor shower, and a private courtyard overlooking the garden, all shaded by the mango tree. All linen is provided and the bed will be made and ready to get into. The kitchenette is equipped with toaster, kettle, microwave and a hotplate plus a full sized fridge but Mullumbimby has some of the best food ever, with a wide variety to choose from including Thai, French, Japanese, Yemeni, Wood-fired pizza or Raw.
For music festival attendees, the cottage provides a relaxing retreat. Mullumbimby is your closest town to the Blues Festival site. For Blues Festival bookings there is a 4 night minimum stay.
There is a TV available to watch our selection of dvd's and free, unlimited internet access so bring your laptop and download what you want.

Guest Access

The cottage is at the rear of my house but is quite separate and private. It faces the opposite direction to the house and has it's own beautiful palm filled garden for you to gaze over. Access is via a pretty, plant filled driveway.

Interaction with Guests

I live with my 15yr old daughter in the main house and am available 24/7 for help or advice on what to do. I've lived here for 20yrs and had a clothing shop in town for 12 of those years. I know everyone and everyone knows me! I can totally stay out of your way, or make you a fresh pineapple daiquiri at sunset. You can have as much, or as little, of me as you require. And we love gays!!!

The Neighborhood

This is a very alternative town, very accepting of newcomers and tourists alike. Still surrounded by sugar cane and dairy farms, everyone smiles as you walk down the street. But the beach and all it has to offer is just 7 minutes away in Brunswick Heads. I'm sure if you're coming to Mullumbimby you will already have done some research on the area and all it has to offer. I can fill you in on the rest of it. You could stay here for a week doing something different every day without ever having to get into your car!

Getting around

Hitch-hiking is rampant however, and a car is essential if you want to go further afield. There are buses but the routes and times are far from adequate or you can pick up a hire car across the road from the cottage for $30 a day at very short notice.

Other Things to Note

I'm never far away and if there's something you want but can't find then never hesitate to ask me for help, or to point you in the right direction.

  • We enjoyed a fabulous weekend staying in Patsy's unit. She is so welcoming and helpful, and her charming cottage is beautifully appointed with funky decor and a superb private garden. The place is so clean and we loved the outdoor shower. Another bonus is being able to park the car in the driveway and leave it there, as Palm Garden Cottage is an easy stroll to town.
We look forward to returning in the future.

  • One of the best airbnb experiences we have had! The cabin is absolutely delightful. It has beautiful light, is spotless, child friendly, equipped with everything you need and the bed is super comfortable. The garden and outdoor shower were just delightful, tropical paradise in the middle of town! We didn't want to leave and stayed an extra night. And then there is Patsy. Such a wonderful host. Very generous, thoughtful and lots of fun, she has a wealth of knowledge of the area and does indeed make the best daiquiris!

  • My friend and I stayed at Palm Garden Cottage and absolutely loved it. The cottage is lovely and spacious with an abundance of light, super comfy bed and an interesting yet awesome outdoor shower. The garden is full with luscious green palms, tropical plants and Balinese statutes.
Patsy was an absolute gem. Very hospitable and warm natured, always willing to guide us to the best breakfast places, beaches and local attractions. Her mango daiquiris, from the very tree the breakfast table lies underneath of, were a hit and so was Patsys super friendly personality. We had an instant connection. Her dog Remy is super friendly and cute too, always up for a rub. I would definitely recommend Patsy as 1st choice if you're looking for a great value true Mullumbimbi experience. 5 STARS.

  • Our host, Patsy, was a generous and affable person with a helpful knowledge of local shops and places to eat. The cottage was tastefully fitted out, spacious, light-filled, airy and clean. The breakfast table under the mango tree was very peaceful and the bed was comfortable. Loved the outdoor shower. Mango daiquiris were a very pleasant and unexpected bonus. We will be back.

  • My husband and I stayed in the Palm Garden Cottage for 2 nights and we loved it. Spacious, good hot shower and lovely outdoor area. Patsy has lots of tips about the area and there were drinks and gourmet snacks ready to welcome us! Remy the dog is also adorable. Great location and we would recommend this place to anyone.

  • We had a lovely stay at patsy's place. Spacious enough for three people, spotless inside and out, great ceiling fans to keep the nights cool and a beautiful garden for evening cocktails. Location is the best...a two minute walk takes you to the centre of town. Patsy was welcoming, friendly and fun and we loved remy too, a very handsome staffy (dog). Highly recommend, thanks patsy!!

About
I'm originally from Sydney where I worked in publishing and moved here 20 years ago to give my kids a better life. I have been an adventurous traveller since my teens, trekking overland from London to India, back when all roads were open and all countries were without war. I sailed around the coast of India in an Arab dhow, living in Goa for 3 months along the way, before it was the happening party place it is today. I ran a clothing shop in Mullumbimby for 12 years which curtailed long term travelling, but made repeated trips to Bali during this time, where my son met and married a local Balinese girl. I will move to Bali as soon as they start a family. Life in Mullumbimby is slow and relaxed, we do a lot of sitting around gazing at the garden drinking cocktails at sunset, or short trips to the beach, and every day I tend to my horse who is agisted not far from home. I know everyone here in Mullum and will be happy to show you all there is to do in our lovely little town and beyond. Cheers...
