The cottage, nestled in the back of my beautiful garden, is quiet and serene even though you are just one block from town. It comes with its own private garden and sits under an ancient mango tree. It can sleep 3 people.
You would never know that you were just one block from town. Everything is just a walk away from this private, quiet sanctuary. There is a gorgeous covered outdoor shower, and a private courtyard overlooking the garden, all shaded by the mango tree. All linen is provided and the bed will be made and ready to get into. The kitchenette is equipped with toaster, kettle, microwave and a hotplate plus a full sized fridge but Mullumbimby has some of the best food ever, with a wide variety to choose from including Thai, French, Japanese, Yemeni, Wood-fired pizza or Raw.
For music festival attendees, the cottage provides a relaxing retreat. Mullumbimby is your closest town to the Blues Festival site. For Blues Festival bookings there is a 4 night minimum stay.
There is a TV available to watch our selection of dvd's and free, unlimited internet access so bring your laptop and download what you want.
The cottage is at the rear of my house but is quite separate and private. It faces the opposite direction to the house and has it's own beautiful palm filled garden for you to gaze over. Access is via a pretty, plant filled driveway.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the main house and am available 24/7 for help or advice on what to do. I've lived here for 20yrs and had a clothing shop in town for 12 of those years. I know everyone and everyone knows me! I can totally stay out of your way, or make you a fresh pineapple daiquiri at sunset. You can have as much, or as little, of me as you require. And we love gays!!!
This is a very alternative town, very accepting of newcomers and tourists alike. Still surrounded by sugar cane and dairy farms, everyone smiles as you walk down the street. But the beach and all it has to offer is just 7 minutes away in Brunswick Heads. I'm sure if you're coming to Mullumbimby you will already have done some research on the area and all it has to offer. I can fill you in on the rest of it. You could stay here for a week doing something different every day without ever having to get into your car!
Hitch-hiking is rampant however, and a car is essential if you want to go further afield. There are buses but the routes and times are far from adequate or you can pick up a hire car across the road from the cottage for $30 a day at very short notice.
Other Things to Note
I'm never far away and if there's something you want but can't find then never hesitate to ask me for help, or to point you in the right direction.
Smoking is allowed outside only
A hidden treasure....my own little sanctuary to get some writing done. Comfortable bed and couch, outdoor shower is such a treat..love it...and the decor says "relax, take your time" Patsy is friendly and fun and can't so enough for you! Leaves you be but you know she's there for any help. A wonderful host, thank you Patsy Xxj.
Mullumbimby is a lovely little town and although I was intending eating in most days I just loved the breakfasts in the little cafes in town...Patsy knows them...and everything about the town. It was just the week I needed. Thank you. Xxj
Patsy was very welcoming and very entertaining. With turkish bread and yummy hummus when we arrived and daiquiris in the evening, who could wish for anything more from a host.
The garden was spacious and had plants i could only dream about back in Melbourne. The bed was super comfy and we were close to everything in town.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Patsy.
If you're looking for a quiet peaceful spot to relax, I could not recommend this place more highly. Beautiful garden, comfortable living space and all self-contained. Patsy is a friendly, helpful and unobtrusive host.
So perfect, so peaceful.
The space was immaculate and Patsy made us feel right at home before leaving us to our own devices.
From a delicious snack and advice about where to eat, we didn't want for anything. Loved the HOT outdoor shower.
Will definitely stay here again next time we're in Mullumbimby.
I am glad I chose Patsy's place for our stay. The place was bigger than it appears in the photos and also has a beautiful garden which we really enjoyed. Patsy was really helpful and had left us some delicious things in the fridge and a great selection of teas and condiments in the kitchen.
Patsy was very welcoming and friendly. She told us where there were some good places to eat, she had fruit and food in the cottage for us too!
I'm originally from Sydney where I worked in publishing and moved here 20 years ago to give my kids a better life. I have been an adventurous traveller since my teens, trekking overland from London to India, back when all roads were open and all countries were without war. I sailed around the coast of India in an Arab dhow, living in Goa for 3 months along the way, before it was the happening party place it is today. I ran a clothing shop in Mullumbimby for 12 years which curtailed long term travelling, but made repeated trips to Bali during this time, where my son met and married a local Balinese girl. I will move to Bali as soon as they start a family. Life in Mullumbimby is slow and relaxed, we do a lot of sitting around gazing at the garden drinking cocktails at sunset, or short trips to the beach, and every day I tend to my horse who is agisted not far from home. I know everyone here in Mullum and will be happy to show you all there is to do in our lovely little town and beyond. Cheers...
