This quiet cul-de-sac is close to Warner Brothers. It is near the 134, 101, and 5 freeways, yet is as secluded as a suburban neighborhood. There is ample street parking with a neighborhood pass. There are dozens of great restaurants in walking distance, and Hollywood is just over the hill (15 minutes when traffic is cooperating).
Although the LA area is a driving region, there are fine public transit options. The Burbank Bus stops a block away and connects with Burbank airport and Hollywood. The Universal City subway stop is 10 minutes away, to get downtown in 20 minutes. The shuttle from LAX takes about 45 minutes.
Other Things to Note
Minimum booking of 5 nights, please.
No smoking anywhere on the property. This is our home so we respect your privacy and expect the same of our guests. No pets.
Marc and Kurt were great hosts. Marc was there to meet us and show us around the apartment. This was our first experience with Airbnb and was an excellent one. The apartment exceeded expectations. Located in a quiet neighbourhood, but centrally located for our activities, and exploring Burbank/Hollywood and the LA area. My next reunion is 5 years off, but we will be back.
A great base to explore the the valley and LA. The apartment was exactly as described, it was perfect for us. Quiet and comfortable. Marc met us and showed us round the property.
We would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a Toluca Lake, Burbank or Studio City.
This airy, light nook tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac is a jewel. Marc & Kurt have put into place everything that makes for a comfortable stay, but the singing birds and crickets came with the property. Hummingbirds even visit the patio some mornings. Surprisingly, this nook is located super-close to the Warner lot, just a few blocks from Gate 3 and the Franklin parking structure, but you wouldn't know it without a map or a walk around the neighborhood.
The apartment itself has two ceiling fans, A/C (but I never had to turn it on), an enclosed patio with outdoor furniture, solid wifi, three different coffee makers (pods, drop, and press), a convection oven, four gas burners, microwave, full-size refrigerator, large flat-screen television with various options, jacuzzi jets in the tub, hair dryer, full-length mirrors, and just the right hooks for your keys, jacket, bathrobe etc. Plus, lots of electrical outlets.
I had rental cars for some days of the three weeks I stayed here (easy parking, use the pass supplied and read the signs for street-cleaning days), and other days I took the bus. The 222 bus goes directly to Hollywood via the Hollywood Bowl, or to the Burbank Airport. The pink-line Burbank Bus goes from Olive and Maple (just a few blocks away) straight up Alameda to Downtown Burbank, and only costs a dollar. A mini-restaurant row is in walking distance on Riverside, and that's good because parking can be tough by the restaurants. The 1946 "Smokehouse" restaurant is nearby too, and has a $16.95 Monday night prime rib special. A Von's and Trader Joe's are both in walking distance.
For my move from NYC to the area, this was the perfect introduction to Burbank. Safe, clean, welcoming, and convenient, and because of the easy access to public transport, I was able to get by without immediately jumping into car culture.
I spent 2 months in Marc and Kurt's home, and I can't think of enough positive things to say about my experience. This was my first airbnb experience, and I was very apprehensive about committing to such a long rental. However, everything about my stay was fantastic. The rental was exactly as described, was equipped with everything I could possibly need, and the hosts were very gracious and attentive. The neighborhood was beautiful, quiet and safe, but still within walking distance to restaurants and businesses. The worst part of the entire stay was having to leave! I hope to return to the LA area soon, and will definitely book with Marc and Kurt again!
Mark & Kurt are gracious, kind, patient hosts and always take care of everything. I could not give them a higher recommendation! The apartment is lovely, clean and has everything needed.
Marc and Kurt are wonderful hosts. They made us feel very welcome and their guest home is beautiful. My son (13) and I were comfortable for the 6 days we stayed. We love the Toluca Lake area. It's so peaceful and walkable to many restaurants and shopping. We will definitely book this "Quiet Hidden Gem" again.
Marc and Kurt's place far exceeded our expectations, this being our first experience with AirBnB. It was exactly as described. The home was located in a very quiet neighborhood, that was easy to find. Kurt was there to welcome us when we arrived and gave us a quick tour of the place and offered some great suggestions on nearby restaurants. They even had a bottle of wine waiting for us! The home was very comfortable and the kitchen had all the basics we needed: pots, pans, glasses etc. were all in excellent condition. It was so nice to be able to fix our morning coffee and breakfast without having to go out. We had a great trip and Marc and Kurt's place played a big part by being safe, convenient and comfortable. Thanks!
