Our fully-equipped one-bedroom garden apt. is in our 100 year-old Brownstone home in historic Park Slope, Brooklyn. The area has wonderful restaurants, is near Prospect Park, & the subway to all parts of NYC is just two blocks away. Come visit.
This one-bedroom Garden Apartment features a separate bedroom, separate full bathroom w/ tub and shower, an eat-in kitchen with adjoining living room in a historic Brooklyn Brownstone home built in 1887, with a garden just behind the apt. that is very nice to lounge in. Perfect for a single or couple who want to be in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in NYC ( Park Slope, Brooklyn) that is close to public transportation (4 minutes away) and 15 minutes from Manhattan. Alan Siege's family of 5 lives in the house above the apartment and we'll make sure you have a great time while you're visiting. When not being rented to AirBNB guests, my mother-in-law periodically uses the apartment.
Park Slope is a beautiful area with many good restaurants, a movie theater, and the e amazing Prospect Park Nearby is the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
The neighborhood is well served by the New York City Subway. Several lines have stops in Park Slope. The IND Culver Line (F G trains) run along 9th Street, a main shopping street, stopping at Fourth Avenue, Seventh Avenue and 15th Street – Prospect Park/Prospect Park West. The IRT Eastern Parkway Line (2 3 4 5 trains) runs under Flatbush Avenue with an express stop at Atlantic Avenue, and local stops at Bergen Street and Grand Army Plaza. The BMT Fourth Avenue Line (D N R trains) makes stops at Prospect Avenue, Ninth Street, Union Street and Atlantic Avenue – Pacific Street. The BMT Brighton Line (B Q trains) also passes through the neighborhood under Flatbush Avenue making stops at Atlantic Avenue and Seventh Avenue.
Guests will have access to the garden just behind the back of the apartment.
I'm always available to help with a question about the area and, of course, if there's any problems with the apartment.
Park Slope is a special part of Brooklyn; it has some truly beautiful brownstone houses and has the amazing Prospect Park in its midst.

Alan is a gracious host. Responsive when issues arise. This appartment in a 19th century brownstone is as described. Nicely appointed with some extra features the we found nice. Including speedy internet, a washer dryer, and hand rails in the bath tub.
That said, during our winter time visit, the appartment was either too hot or too cold most of the time. To achieve a reasonable temp we resorted to opening the windows, or using space heaters that Alan provided. For this reason, I'd recommend this appartment to my friends during the spring and fall here in NYC.
Alan thank you for sharing your home with us.
Tom, thank you for your kind words. As for the heat, it's kind of funny. We just upgraded our heating system this past summer, (converting from oil to gas) and the new boiler is so efficient, that it is now sending up too much heat - which NEVER happened before. Oh well, since we're just getting the hang of it, I think we'll be able to regulate the heat better over the next couple of months.
We had a lovely stay here. Alan's apartment is very comfortable, cozy and well-equipped. The kitchen, tiny as it is, has been carefully thought out and has all the tools, pots and pans you'll need. Alan himself couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. And the location couldn't be better for getting around both Brooklyn and Manhattan. Not to mention, you are right in the heart of trendy Park Slope. Return visits are definitely in order.
Alan's apartment was perfectly located for our recent visit to Park Slope. It was as described, clean and comfortable. Thank you Alan for having us.
Alan's apartment was perfect for us. It's comfortable, cozy and has features that meant a lot to us during our week-long stay, such as a washer and dryer and being on the ground level.
The neighborhood in Park Slope is fantastic and the location for traveling into Manhattan is ideal - just a couple of blocks away from the metro.
Alan and his wife were so very warm and welcoming and helpful and we hope to stay there again on our next trip to Brooklyn.
We had a wonderful experience staying at Alan's place in the heart of Park Slope! The apartment was very comfortable, cosy and spacious. Short walk to the train station, groceries, yummy restaurants and the Prospect Park. Alan was very helpful and likable. We would definitely plan on staying here again next time we're in New York. Thanks, Alan !
The reservation was canceled 18 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We spent 8 days in this apartment and we can say that it was the perfect frame to our trip! The apartment is well located, near the subway, in a quiet area. It was comfortable, with a nice garden.
Alan was so kind with us and even when we had a little problem, he has been ready to help us.
The apartment was very clean and it had all the staff we needed for our stay.
We booked Alan's apartment for my in-laws and can happily report he was easy going, most helpful and excellent to deal with. The in-laws enjoyed the apartment, its location and all the amenities thoroughly.
Thanks again Alan.
Alan keeps his apartment clean and neat and is a good host!
My parents enjoyed their stay at his apartment.
The stay in Alan's apartment went fantastic! The space is a great size for 2 people, with AC and access to the back yard. Although I am the one who booked the space, I reserved it for my employer's daughter and mother from Sweden! As a first visit to the states, they thought it was so much better than staying in a hotel room. Alan even let my employer come early and put welcome signs and flowers around the apartment for their arrival. The neighborhood is great for first time visitors to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to get on the train and see everything the city has to offer. Alan was always available for questions and his family was extremely inviting. I highly recommend Alan's apartment for people looking for a good place to stay for trip to NY.
