Description

The space

This one-bedroom Garden Apartment features a separate bedroom WITH BRAND-NEW CARPETING, DESK AND DRESSER-DRAWS (1/16), separate full bathroom w/ tub and shower, an eat-in kitchen with adjoining living room in a historic Brooklyn Brownstone home built in 1889, with a garden just behind the apt. that is very nice to lounge in. (FYI, the bed is a "full" which works for most people.)

It's perfect for a single or couple who want to be in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in NYC ( Park Slope, Brooklyn) that is close to public transportation (4 minutes away) and 15 minutes from Manhattan. Alan Siege's family of 5 lives in the house above the apartment and we'll make sure you have a great time while you're visiting. When not being rented to AirBNB guests, my mother-in-law periodically uses the apartment.

Park Slope is a beautiful area with many good restaurants, a movie theater, and the amazing Prospect Park Nearby is the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The neighborhood is well served by the New York City Subway. Several lines have stops in Park Slope. The IND Culver Line (F G trains) run along 9th Street, a main shopping street, stopping at Fourth Avenue, Seventh Avenue and 15th Street – Prospect Park/Prospect Park West. The IRT Eastern Parkway Line (2 3 4 5 trains) runs under Flatbush Avenue with an express stop at Atlantic Avenue, and local stops at Bergen Street and Grand Army Plaza. The BMT Fourth Avenue Line (D N R trains) makes stops at Prospect Avenue, Ninth Street, Union Street and Atlantic Avenue – Pacific Street. The BMT Brighton Line (B Q trains) also passes through the neighborhood under Flatbush Avenue making stops at Atlantic Avenue and Seventh Avenue.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the garden just behind the back of the apartment.

Interaction with guests

I'm always available to help with a question about the area and, of course, if there's any problems with the apartment.

The neighborhood

Park Slope is a special part of Brooklyn; it has some truly beautiful brownstone houses and has the amazing Prospect Park in its midst.

Getting around

As I wrote above, my house is very close to the F train, and other subway lines are nearby. There are also several bus lines that run nearby.

Good location, and host. The apartment could be cleaner.

Response from Alan:
I appreciate getting all kinds of feedback. In this case, I think part of the issue was that I mistakenly not emptied the compost bin under the kitchen sink which no doubt gave off a bad order.

A centrally located apartment in the Park Slope area. Close to public transportation (buses and trains), restaurants, stores, a few minutes walk to Prospect Park. WiFi great, air-conditioning, I enjoyed the hot water..., easy and convenient entrance (3 steps down) for those who have problems walking, washer and dryer is available, plenty of kitchen utensils, cabinets and drawers.

We had a very nice stay at Alans apartment in Park Slope. We had everything we needed and Alan was very helpfull during our arrival and our stay. The apartment was great. Toilet, bath and fully equipped kitchen, and own entrance to the garden and the street. We would definitely recommend to others and we might come back to this lovely part of NY.
