Description

The space

This peaceful unit is a separate suite behind the main house tucked into the quaint, secluded backyard. It is a tranquil space of meditative healing with use of the Vibra Therapy Machine (search Whole Body Vibration ), outdoor non-chlorine hot tub, or indoor 2 person Japanese tub, fire pit on "The Beach", gardens of art and edibles, friendly pets, and samplings of natural skin products and infusions.
The artist and creator of the atmosphere has her studio in the attached garage where you can usually observe her working and view her gallery of diverse artwork.
Though the property feels like it is in its own little world, it's just off Hwy.101 with easy access (within a half hour) to Wine Country, Coastal attractions, San Francisco, Sausalito, Berkely, Mt. Tamalpais, Muir Woods, and Sonoma Raceway.
We will do our best to accommodate your needs for the most pleasant and memorable stay, but please refrain from smoking anywhere on the premises~ Thank you.

Guest access

The front driveway is for guest parking. With a few hours notice, the hot tub can be ready for a soak. There is wood and a firepit for a bonfire, and a table in the courtyard for dining. There is a hot pot for tea in the room, and a microwave and mini frig where you'll find breakfast goodies. A chef's choice garden inspired breakfast is available for $10 each upon request. When the artist is home, the studio is open for viewing.

Interaction with guests

Guests can determine the level of interaction they desire. Teri is from the south and hospitality runs openly and freely, but for those who wish to have a more romantic or introspective visit, privacy is respected. The cats are not as mindful, but usually can be gently discouraged from sitting in your lap if not desired. The bunny is very friendly especially to those bearing dandelion treats.

The neighborhood

The neighborhood is quiet with a hint children's giggles in the background. Though restaurants, groceries, and entertainment are as close as a walk to the end of the street, the property feels very secluded and far away from civilization. We were featured in the Marin IJ on Sept.2, 2014, the article is available online.

Getting around

A bus stop is located at the end of the street to the left on South Novato Blvd. and another on Redwood Blvd. (10 minute walk).
The Marin Airporter is 2 exits away.

Absolutely loved our stay. It was exactly what we needed for the weekend. We didn't have time to stay for the special breakfast but it will definitely be on our to do list next time we stay.

Teri you did it again. When I travel far from home I am always grateful to have a safe, clean, beautiful retreat to land in. Thank you for helping me feel at home!

My guest and I thoroughly enjoy our stay at Terri's beautiful garden hide away cottage. Her garden was in full bloom and the sweet smells of the lilac and roses that over grow the cute cottage were pleasantly intoxicating and assisted in teleporting my guest and I far away to a secret fairy garden oasis. The hot tub was a great way to finish off our day and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I'll defiantly be back!! Two thumbs WAYYYYYY up for the SuperHost Terri and her Fairy Garden Hide Away!!

Had the opportunity to stay with my husband at Teri's while out for a weekend away to the coast, it's a great location! Close to good food too! Teri was very quick to respond to our booking request and was great in contacting us 48hrs before our stay to greet and give us pertinent information we would need! Very quite and restful even though its tucked away in town! Teri was a very thoughtful host in that though she was away for our stay she made sure there was someone there if we needed them! All in all a nice spot to rest and enjoy (especially the hot tub) in your travels!

We loved our stay in Teri's cottage! The atmosphere was extremely relaxing and it was the perfect place to get away from the stresses of our busy life. The area gave plenty of opportunity for fun in many different ways as it was located near San Francisco, Muir woods and Mt. Tamalpais. This is a great place to book if you want to retreat in style and comfort.

Fun sunny stay in a beautiful garden. Stayed for a wedding over the weekend. Teri is super nice and her place is close to shops for a lazy weekend stroll.

Awesome little space. REALLY loved the beautiful garden out back, and the yellow rose bush above the entrance to the cabin was an especially great treat. Also really enjoyed waking up to the sound of birds chirping and the soft melody of wind-chimes. Loved the luxurious bed sheets and the very artistic and welcoming bathroom. My only negative recommendation is that if you are terrified of spiders, this may not be the right Airbnb for you--there were a few on the ceiling, but that's not surprising given the garden surrounding the cottage. There also isnt too much space to store clothes and things if you are planning a longer stay, but for a short romantic getaway, I don't think you can find much better.

Response from Teri:
Andrea, I'm so glad you got to see witness the glory of the clustered rose vine that turns the cottage into a fairytale illustration for a short window of time in the spring~ if only it could be in continuous bloom! I'm sorry for your multi-legged visitors. I hope they were only granddaddies which unfortunately show up spontaneously from time to time, but not usually in handfulls! I installed a sonic pest deterrent for ants etc. which does seem to have eliminated that issue, but I guess some are unaffected by sound waves!

My life is a work of art, and it is evident in my home and gardens. The intention is to explore and find something captivating in each step, and new in each return. There is art and artistry in everything I do, and everything I create. From food to furniture, practical to aesthetic; it all gets touched with a little magic to elevate it from ordinary to unique and extraordinary.
I declared myself an atist at age 5, but the core of my being is a healer. I find truth in the ancient use of food and botanicals, and I continue to seek out methods of natural health, youthfulness, and longevity that I can share with others. The gardens are a continuous growth process to foster this passion.
