Rustic two bedroom character filled apartment in Byron Bay. A quiet and peaceful location, whilst only a short walk to town, beaches, local markets and cafes.

White washed wooden floors throughout, stained glass windows and a meditation loft room. The perfect space for small families, couples or solo travellers wanting a relaxing retreat. Surrounded by native Australian bush and wildflowers, enjoy waking up to the sound of birds...

The space
Havana Lodge is the top two floors of a 3 storey tree house. On the upper level is a queen bedroom with ensuite, veranda and meditation loft room. A second twin room on the lower level with combined dining and living room with reverse cycle air-conditioning. The main bathroom has a claw foot bath which is directly opposite the twin room. Cosy, clean and comfortable.

Fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. The lounge and dining room open onto a magical veranda set in the trees. A quiet sanctuary, yet close to world class restaurant, beaches, boutique stores and national parks.

We supply all professionally laundered linen and fluffy towels, beach towels, eco friendly bath products, organic tea/coffee and some condiments to get you started.

Parking available for one small/medium car. Second car must be parked on the lower street. We are located only a 10 minute walk to central Byron Bay.

Please note: This property is not suitable for loud noise/music or partying. We must respect our neighbours and our beautiful town. Please keep noise to a minimum after 9pm and move inside and shut the doors after 10pm. Noise travels easily in this street as the apartment is on a hill. If there is loud noise/music and guests sitting on the deck after this time, you may be faced with immediate eviction or complete loss of bond if you receive more than one noise complaint. Thank you for your consideration.

Guest access
The apartment is private and has its own entrance via the deck. Please be mindful of our guests downstairs. If we can't greet you on site, we will send through self check in details.

The apartment is located on a steep hill. It may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. If you have a spoiler or lowered car it may be best to park on the street below (due to the steep incline of the road).

Other things to note
Check In is from 3.00pm and Check Out is 10.00am. Early arrival, late departure and luggage storage may be possible by prior arrangement only. This is not always possible so please contact us in advance. On departure please check you have all of your belongings. A minimum charge of $30 plus postage will be incurred to have any items returned to you.

There is a BBQ on the deck. For the comfort of all guests please let us know if the gas is getting low. The BBQ must be cleaned after each use and the gas bottle closed off. A minimum charge of $50 will be incurred if the BBQ is not cleaned. BBQ utensils can be found in the kitchen.

If you are not familiar with the surf it is recommended you swim only at patrolled beaches between the red and yellow flags. Byron Bay Main Beach is patrolled year round, and Tallow Beach, Suffolk Park, Broken Head, Watego's and The Pass are patrolled during the Christmas period.

1x queen bed, 2x single beds. Bed linen, bath linen, tea towels and beach towels are all supplied. If you would like fresh linen during your stay please contact Temple Retreats Byron Bay. Charges may apply.

The key to open the balcony doors is in the lock. Please do not remove the key from this location.

Please secure outdoor blinds with two latches when unrolled. If blinds get wet please do not raise util completely dry.

You are welcome to use candles however never leave a candle unattended and always extinguish completely when not in use.

Please leave our home tidy. Wash and put away dishes and put everything back where you found it. Please place any used towels in the bathroom. Our cleaners will do the rest. Please be mindful when using fake tan and make up as any excess on linen, lounges or other furniture will incur a fee. Fees will be charged for any excess cleaning above normal use, and will be taken from the Bond.

Portable cot and highchair are available with prior request. We ask guests to provide own cot linen/blankets. There is a $25 (plus air bnb fees) one-off fee for use of the cot and/or high-chair.

You must inform us of any damage or breakages during your stay. All damage and breakages must be paid for. Please contact us for any maintenance issues arising during your stay.

A first aid kit is located under the kitchen sink.

Please discard any unused food items from the fridge prior to your departure.

The Byron Shire Council operates a three bin service; a weekly GREEN organic waste service, a fortnightly YELLOW recycling service, and a fortnightly RED landfill service. Please refer to the leaflet on the fridge for information on which bin to use.

All rubbish must be put in the correct outside bins on Sunday for collection and before departure. Bins are located behind the fence in the front yard. A fee per bin will apply to contaminated bins. In an effort to reduce waste we buy bulk products and refill our kitchen, laundry and bathroom liquid bottles. Please do not throw out if empty.

Gas bottles are located to the right of the front door under the kitchen window. If you run out of gas, twist both gas bottle valves completely in the reverse direction and turn the indicator to the opposite side. Contact Temple Retreats Byron Bay via Airbnb for further help.

Wifi is provided for using email, instant messaging, internet browsing and using apps. Illegal or dishonest use will result in immediate eviction, complete loss of Bond and will be reported to the authorities. Connection in Byron can be poor, especially in peak holiday season. Wifi details are on the fridge.

Please leave your key in the lockbox for all guests to use during your stay. A callout fee will apply for any lockouts and a replacement fee applies for any lost keys. On departure please secure the property and leave the key in the lock box.

A washing machine and dryer are located in the laundry. Please empty the dryer filter after each load.

Please turn off all lights, fans, heaters, air con and appliances when not in use or when leaving the property.

The property has a strict noise curfew between 9.00pm and 8.00am. Parties and excessive noise are absolutely forbidden, and may result in complete loss of bond and/or immediate eviction. Please also be mindful of the neighbours when entering or exiting the property and minimise noise, especially late at night.

The outdoor shower in the garden is for the exclusive use of the downstairs guests.

There is one allocated parking space in the driveway. Additional cars must be parked on the lower street, Cowper St. Please note the driveway is shared with the downstairs apartment. Please park as close as possible to the bins. If you have a large vehicle please park on Cowper St. Please read and obey all on street parking signs as heavy fines apply in the Byron Shire.

In our tropical climate you may notice more cockroaches, flies and ants than you might be used to. This property undergoes regular pest control treatment, however if you find any unwelcome visitors we have provided a can of spray under the kitchen sink.

Havana Lodge is pet friendly with prior consent. Please let us know if you’re traveling with your pet. Please provide its age and breed. We accept well behaved dogs, however, we do need to make sure they're suitable for the property before accepting your reservation.

We ask that pets do not go on the beds or furniture and that all poo is picked up on departure. If these rules aren’t followed or there is an excess of pet hair or sand, there will be a $100 pet cleaning fee applied to your bond.

In the Byron Shire it is your responsibility to collect your animal droppings and dispose of them in landfill bins. Please dispose of these directly in the outdoor landfill bins and not inside the property. Please remove sand from your pets prior to entering the property.

Please be aware that there may be other pets on the property and if yours is not well socialised please keep it on a lead at all times.

Please remove all sand before entering the property in the shower at the end of the carport. Sand is easily concealed in towels, clothing and on the bottom of beach bags. Any drain blockages caused by sand within the house may incur a fee and will be taken from your Bond. Excess cleaning resulting from sand will incur a fee and may be taken from your bond.

Whenever you are absent from the property please close and lock all windows and doors to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage.

The driveway is a shared space with the downstairs apartment.
You are renting the top two floors only (private two bedroom apartment). The downstairs is seperate - driveway is shared. Room for one small to medium car only.

Please be mindful of each other and our neighbours. This house is not suitable for loud noise or parties. If you receive noise complaints during your stay, you may be evicted and lose your entire security bond. We do not host Schoolies groups.

Smoking is restricted to outdoor areas only. Ashtrays must be emptied and cleaned on departure and cigarette butts removed from the lawn. Any damage resulting from smoking will incur a fee and be taken from your Bond.

Maximum overnight guests are listed on your booking confirmation / invoice, and may not exceed 4. No additional guests or visitors are permitted on the property. Extra visitors or guests may result in complete loss of Bond and/or immediate eviction.
