It was a pleasure to stay for 2 months at Boubacar & Pattee's. They were very generous, polite, and clean hosts. I wouldn't hesitate to return to their flat if I'm back in NYC and I strongly recommend their accommodation to the Airbnb community.
Great! Hosts were FLEXIBLE, we got in late and they were really good about it. Will stay again!
The apartment was very easy to get to. The number 1 subway was just 1 block away (takes you to penn station and Times Square directly). If you wanted to get to downtown faster, you can walk a few blocks down to take the express A,C subway which is really fast.
The apartment was lovely with a very nice and cosy character. The room was huge and comfortable. Great view of the hudson river! I slept very well. Wifi connection was good. And the showers were good. Pretty much what i needed for a short stay.
Do note that the doors and curtains are see-through (as shown in the pictures). It was fine for me as a male backpacker. Otherwise i would say that there was a lot of privacy during my stay.
Boubacar and Pattee were both very friendly. And there were two lovely cats in the apartment. (the cats won't enter you room at all) Though it was facing the road, it was not noisy at all.
Definitely value for money!
I enjoyed my stay at Patee and Boubacar. They were very respectful and considerate of my privacy. The room is very spacious and comfortable. I loved the view of the Hudson. I didn't use any of the other spaces in the home, but was told I was welcomed to use them. I was only there in the mornings and evenings as I had a packed agenda for my four day stay in the city. The Subway is a block away and its very easy to commute to mid or downtown. To midtown its about a 20 min ride. Their building is a historical building, but I loved it's charm. Overall my first experience using Airbnb was great and I highly recommend Patee and Boubacar's place.
Boubacar and Pattee were fabulous! They sent me detailed directions on getting to them from JFK, and provided useful information about the local area, as well as being wonderful to chat to.
The room was perfect for my needs, although with the window open due to the hot weather it could get a little noisy (but I think this would have been the case in most places anyway). The location is great as it looks over the Hudson River and is opposite the entrance to the Riverside State Park (great performance of Anthony and Cleopatra by Harlem Shakespeare company...free!) and is a block (1 minute) away from the 145th street subway stop (number 1) which takes you to Manhatten (30-40 mins).
Boubacar and Pattee are remarkable hosts. The apartment is in a historic building centrally located. This really is the place to stay if you are going to New York! I will book this place everytime I am in the Big Apple.
Boubacar and Pattee are very friendly people. The room is very large, and you get keys for the room and the apartment, as well as a badge for the building entrance, so you'll feel like this is your room, and you'll be very independent if you like (which I do !).
The apartment is located a bit far north from downtown/midtown but it's easily reachable in 30min with the subway (the station is very close to the apartment, and that's very important in NYC).
Et pour les français qui ne sont pas très à l'aise en anglais: Boubacar parle français !
Thank you to both of you !
Staying with Boubacar and Pattee was an althrough delightful experience! They are both very kind, polite and easy going! I got my own key and they were fine with me coming and going at any hour and were also very generous with their space. Since the place is very close to the subway it was very convenient to explore New York from there. They were also very helpful in giving any needed advice! I can very much recommend staying at this place when in New York!
Boubarcar and Pattee were amazing hosts! We stayed in their large room for two days while we did photoshoots in the area. The buses and Train are only a few blocks over and the view of river is amazing. We didnt get to see Boubarcar until the day we left, but he was very comfortable. The room itself was once a living room that is converted into a guest room, so there is alot of space. The bed is intended for one person, but me and my fiancée didnt have too much of a problem snuggling in. They also have an air mattress if requested. I plan on staying with them when I return!
My stay with Boubacar and Pattee couldnt have been more pleasent! They were very kind, considerate hosts and their home is clean and very inviting. I had a wonderful time staying with them and would highly recommend their place to anyone visiting New York!
