Our stay at this apartment started off pretty rocky but ended up being fine. We had arranged to meet Werner at the apartment at 4pm, and we arrived right on time, but no one showed up. We waited outside for half an hour in the rain, not having a cell phone, and eventually walked to a convenience store where the clerk was nice enough to let us call Werner. He didn't pick up, so I left a message, and we walked back to the apartment and waited for ten or fifteen minutes more, until we asked a neighbor going in if he knew Werner. The neighbor invited me in to call Werner where we got a hold of him and found out that his friend had been waiting in the apartment since four. It turned out that Werner had forgotten previously to tell me to push a certain buzzer on the building to be let in and had only remembered to send me a message about it at 12:30 pm that day. Since we had already left our last apartment and didn't have smart phones, I didn't get that message in time. So, it was an inconvenient mishap, although the person waiting in the apartment certainly should have come down to the front door to check for us.
In any case, Werner apologized to me sincerely a couple of times through airbnb, and everything after that went smoothly. The apartment itself is not quite as nice as it seems in the pictures, but it is certainly adequate. It is modern, but it smells faintly of smoke and it is not extremely clean. The furniture was a bit beat up, and there weren't any conveniences like hand soap or coffee/a coffeemaker, which is not required but at least instant coffee would be nice. The shower was very nice, but the hot water heater was the typical small one you would find in most European apartments (I think), which barely gives enough hot water for one 15-min shower (and then you have to wait an hour for it to heat the water back up enough for the second person to take a shower). Just a heads up to those who like long hot showers (ehem my fellow Americans). The best part was the location - which was awesome - 15 min walk to Marienplatz with lots of good bakeries nearby. We had a car and were nervous about being able to find a parking space nearby, but coming in at 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon, we were able to find a space right around the corner where we could buy 6 euro 24-hour parking (ticket to stick on the dashboard).
Overall, apartment is pretty good, location is great, make sure you clarify which buzzer to push before you go.
Awsome place, with a Rock bar on same street. so no need to go far to have fun. flex munich.. it made my day (nights)... plenty of grocery near, restorant, bank, metro..
this studio apartment was great and everything was well-organized with werner having a friend meet me at the apartment with the keys at the time we had arranged. the facilities for tea and coffee making were perfect and the balcony a great place to have fresh croissants from the nearby bakery in the morning or a late-night beer. very convenient location, as others have mentioned.
great location, clean and very nice apt. enjoyed my stay very much.
I booked Werners appt. for a friend of mine, who stayed there for a couple of weeks.
The apartment itself came exactly as promised. My friend enjoyed staying there a lot. He said that it's very cozy. Also, the location is great. Just a couple of walking-minutes and you're basically in the historical city center of Munich (Sendlinger Tor). You could also take public transportation but that's only for lazy daisies :-)
Werner as a host was a pleasure to interact with. Mostly he replied quickly to any question I had, he is polite and very well organized. Due to his buzy schedule he couldn't welcome my friend himself, but he arranged for friends/neighbours to do the tour of the house and my friend felt very well taken care of.
He and I were satisfied and I can recommend a stay at Werner's appartment.
