The Space

Come stay in our cozy bungalow, a separate and private stand alone, only a short walk to Venice Beach and the ultra trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Whether you enjoy star watching, art galleries, shopping, or delicious food, this block has something for everyone. As Venice residents for over 20 years we constantly take advantage of this great neighborhood and love walking to the local coffee shop to grab a bagel or a piece of the yummy pizza or listen to live music just down the block. The bungalow’s location truly can’t be beat for the traveler coming for either fun or business.

The bungalow has all the amenities for a comfy stay- a brand new queen bed, TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Sunlight streams into the space and there are wonderful ocean breezes in the afternoon making this a real gem of a place to stay. Our newly landscaped backyard garden designed with native California plants that attract butterflies hopefully enhances your stay if you have time to relax outside on the Adirondack chairs or the bistro table. The main room also provides a desk, sitting chair, dresser, suitcase holder, (email hidden) area and nicely suits two. The private bathroom has a closet to store additional suitcases and hang clothes as well as a nice size mirror. Internet is free and all linens and towels are provided.

You can access the bungalow located behind our house from a private back entrance. We’re on one of the most desirable streets in Venice in what is known as the “walk street” area where you can meander the neighborhood on sidewalks and see great architecture and gardens. Ample street parking is available.

In addition to Abbot Kinney Boulevard (named the trendiest street in America by Esquire Magazine), it’s wonderful to stroll the Venice Canals modeled after those in Venice Italy. World-renowned Venice beach is always a main attraction with sidewalk entertainers and vendors you surely won’t see elsewhere and the infamous Muscle Beach (where Arnold Schwarzenegger trained). There is an incredible bike path along the ocean with a number of convenient places to rent bikes nearby. Santa Monica Pier is only a short 10-minute drive away and we’re only 15 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport. A number of buses stop just blocks away if you don’t have a car.

We are a smoke-free environment and respect the privacy of all our guests. We encourage all potential guests to complete a profile before booking. Hope to see you soon!!

  • Julia was a great hostess. There was cold water in the fridge and helpful information about the neighborhood when we arrived. She is really sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. The bungalow was really comfortable and cozy. It is in a very nice neighborhood where you can feel safe walking at night or during the day. Being walking distance to Abbot Kinney was definitely a plus! We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Julia's Venice Bungalow is the perfect place to stay in the LA area. The bungalow is exceptionally clean and well organized, quiet at night, in a safe and beautiful neighborhood. Julia is friendly and very responsive over email. No problem finding parking. She even left organic juice and granola out! It's a lovely haven and I recommend it to all. Not too mention that dinner and shopping along Abbot Kinney was fun, relaxing, and picturesque.

  • Julia and Todd are great hosts and their Venice Bungalow was perfect for our needs. Would not hesitate staying there again on our next trip to the Los Angeles area!

  • We loved the Venice bungalow, it's a cozy little place nestled in a nice neighbourhood. Julia was so lovely, although we only saw her once at arrival, which was fine as we wanted to do our own thing anyway. Her residence is a lot closer than we initially thought, but this was not a problem. Venice is beautiful, we walked to hire a bike and a skateboard and made our way all around Venice and up to Santa Monica which was very cool! Tip: grab a cheese burger from big Dean's (sooooo good). If your wanting a nice little stay amongst a quiet neighbourhood we highly recommend. A refreshingly different perspective to being in a hotel.

  • All was well in the beach bungalow. It was clean and cozy. Julia and Todd were very sweet and helpful. Thank you! The soul enjoyed whenever we walked back home through the quiet streets, looking at the beautiful little houses, stopping to smell the roses and occasionally stealing a bud of lavender for the hair.

  • This little spot was just perfect for my partner and I to have a little rest while in Venice. Its very clean, well appointed, and very comfortable. Julia was a kind host, leaving us coffee, juice, and filtered water. The outside tables and garden were lovely! I definitely recommend if you are by yourself of with someone close, since its quite cozy...but uber comfortable and modern!

  • I stayed here with my son for a week in June 2014.

We had a very nice time and all description's were accurate.
Julia was a lovely host and helped make the stay even better.

Location: Its a lovely area and we walked to nearby restaurants as well as venice beach. Parking was a non-issue and parking spaces were available.
Bungalow: Nice and cosy, fridge, TV, Internet.
Outside: We had breakfast outside the bungalow almost every morning and even if the bungalow is located on Julia's property we felt that we had our privacy.

    I definitely recommend this location.

  • My wife and I loved the bungalow. We spent two days there and wish it could have been longer. Julia and Tod were very welcoming and ensured that we had a pleasant stay. The interior of the bungalow was nicely furnished and it was bright and airy. The location is great, and we were able to walk to Abbot Kinney, the beach, and the canals. We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we ever return to LA.

An east coast transplant like most of LA, I'm lucky to have found Venice 27 years ago drawn by its independence, culture, clean air, and of course the beach. My husband and I raised our 2 daughters here and we love it as much as when we first came. I like yoga, biking, hiking, music, going to cultural events, and trying out the ever growing new restaurants in area. I look forward to meeting folks from around the globe at our new airbnb!
