This guest house is wonderful. Serene, clean, and well equipped. The backyard is beautiful with hummingbirds and flowers everywhere. It is not downtown, but very close to the highway and easily accessible from Santa Barbara or Ventura. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you!
Our stay at the guest house was fantastic. The house is beautiful and modern, tucked away in a quiet corner of Carpinteria. The rooms were comfortable, the bathroom was amazing and the backyard was an oasis (we ate outside on the deck every night!). Our hosts also had great suggestions on what to do in town along with any information we may need about the house which was really helpful. We will definitely stay there again!
We loved our stay at Sapphire land! The house and landscaping are beautifully designed. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking and the patio is perfect for lounging or outdoor dining. Also, the beds and bedding were very comfortable and the setting is very peaceful and quiet. We will be back!
We enjoyed our week in Carpenteria. The house is not in town, but is in a quiet cul-de-sac behind a gate. It is close to the highway for easy access to Ventura, Santa Barbara and downtown Carpenteria and there is a playground within a short driving distance. The house looks like something out of Homes and Gardens and has a cute patio area for eating outside as well as an indoor area for eating. The bathtub is lovely and it has a shower as well. There were ample towels and the washer and dryer was well used by us. A previous tenant mentioned an issue with the cable and door lock, but we had no issues with the door lock sticking or the cable being out. We never met our host, but felt like we had privacy where our space was our own. The gates are open during the day and multiple cars are in the housing area (three houses including the guest house) and we weren't sure if there was something like yoga classes going on or a home business, so I do recommend locking the door every day (as opposed to the previous tenant who left it open throughout the visit). However, we felt very safe and it was very quiet and we never saw a single person in the housing area during our entire stay. It is a lovely place to stay for a quiet vacation while visiting the beaches.
What a great little oasis! This guest house was the perfect place to spend Memorial Day weekend. It is away from the busyness of linden but still close enough to go to the beach everyday or just tan out on the porch. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely come again.
My family and I loved our stay at this adorable little house in a peaceful, gorgeous, secluded little area tucked away behind an industrial park just on the outskirts of Carpinteria. I know the industrial park thing sounds strange, but it wasn't weird at all because the little gated community where the house is located is so lovely and separate from everything that we didn't even notice. And it meant that everything was incredibly quiet and away from people. We hardly even saw anyone the whole trip, which gave us a nice sense of privacy.
The place itself is exactly as photographed. Very well decorated. The kitchen was well stocked enough with plates, bowls, utensils, etc for us to bring in a meal and eat at home one night and for my parents to make french press coffee every morning.
Both beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was huge, and the family area was cozy. We brought my dog and she loved running around the backyard.
If you want to be able to walk to anything, that's not really possible here as you'd have to cross the highway, which means walking farther north or south on the main road that runs along the coastal highway. But my mom went for runs every morning and said it's a great location to run in because it's near the bluffs.
We loved taking the car just a few minutes down the road to the bluffs for long walks on the shore with the dog every day and we enjoyed exploring Carpinteria for food, etc. Just a short drive, but not walking distance. Perhaps a bike would have been a good alternative form of transport.
If you want a pretty, quiet place away from everything but still close to town, I would definitely recommend this house.
The house is lovely. Well done, great kitchen, bathroom, heating system, etc. You must drive to to town or to buy a quart of milk. The people who run it are very nice although fairly non responsive when it came to having a key that didn't work or the cable system that was out. I was told to fiddle with the key. And the handyman showed me how to fiddle with the key. I shouldn't have to fiddle with a key for 20 minutes each day for 7 days if it doesn't work. I left the house open for most of the time I was there. The same with the cable. Fiddle with the wires. Didn't work. For $200 a night, it wasn't worth it.
