Interaction with Guests
I am available to answer any queries you have before and during your stay. I am an avid traveler (60 countries and counting) and love having friends across the planet. I really want you to enjoy my part of the paradise that is Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula.
We will arrange check in and check out before you arrive.
Check ins are normally 3pm and check outs are 11am. Please advise if you have other check in /out requests and we will do our best to accommodate them.
The Mornington Peninsula has been known as Melbourne's playground for over a century. You can drive the length of our coastlines, stopping at the seaside towns, or cruise through bush and fields along our country roads with stunning vistas.
The nearby bathing beach is very accessible. Its gentle waters are perfect for young bathers. I love wandering down with a book and watching the sunset. Gunamatta surf beach is a short ten minute drive away or you may prefer to surf in Rye (also 10 mins) or Sorrento (15 mins). There is also scuba diving, and a multitude of boating options including boat hire and boat launching ramps (400 metres away from the house!)
Many people start with one or more of 50 wineries or the Merricks wine store. You must try the Hot Springs for a wonderful soak in a range of gorgeous pools.
Dining ranges from Fast Food take aways, local fish and chips stores, casual cafes (try Two Bouys in Dromana and tell them you are an Air BNB customer!) through to up market intimate dining options. The Onshore cafe is a favourite of mine.
Cycling is a delight with 100km of cycle paths stretching around the coast. The famous Round the Bay in a Day passes close by. Its fun to watch! Golfers are well catered for with 15 golf courses on the Peninsula including The National Old Course, St Andrews Beach, The Dunes and Rosebud Golf.
Every Saturday brings a different market including the famous Red Hill markets, the community Tootgarook markets (3 minutes walk from the house), the all hand made or hand grown Boneo market, the Rye trash and treasure or the truly local Rosebud Markets.
We are close to a Shell Select and a milk bar. Restaurants are a short walk or very short drive away. Rosebud and Rye main shopping areas with supermarkets, many restaurants, coffees and ice creams are a very short drive or bike ride away. Bus 788 from Frankston stops 300 metres from the house. There is a bus service to and from Melbourne airport- ask me for more information!
