Situated right off Central and just west of the Rio Grande, this house has a beautiful view of the river, city and mountains. The room has a separate entrance, with a half bath attached. You'll have access to a newly remodeled kitchen, full bathroom and living spaces.
This house has a fun and funky appeal. The vigas in the main house are old telephone poles topped by tongue and groove ceiling, the rest of the house has exposed beam wooden ceiling. The kitchen and living room afford great views. There are many comfortable places inside or out to sit and enjoy a drink, read a book or maybe watch the hot air balloons float by or the geese and cranes fly south.
The bedroom has a separate entrance from the yard. You are welcomed into the main house for bathing, cooking and tv/movie watching.
Interaction with Guests
I may or may not be home during your visit. Please feel free to chat with me if I'm around. If you want a more private experience, I'll be sure to give you space.
The house is right on the edge of the bluff west of the river. There is a great 2 level park about 3 blocks away which is a great place for a walk or run a while enjoying a great view. There is an awesome baja fish taco spot, my favorite New Mexican restaurant and The Monte Carlo Steak House (web search it, it's fun), grocery stores and more all withing a mile of the house. The house is 2 miles from Old Town and 4 miles from downtown and the train station.
There is on and off the street parking as well as a tandem bike or a beach cruiser available for use. The airport is less than 8 miles away, let me know if you'll be flying in and I share my shortest and an most interesting drive from there.
Other Things to Note
I have a sweet dog who may or may not say hello. Your dog or cat is welcome as long as they get along well with others. There is horse boarding within 5 miles for the cost of about $30 a night.
You are welcome to use the hot tub as long a you bathe before entering. There is a note outside near the tub letting you know how to care for the water if needed.
Please no smoking indoors and pick-up after yourself
Allegra's place was perfect. The view was amazing, and the room was super cute and cozy.
We had a great experience. Allegra was a great host! We hope to return to Albuquerque again some day. I would recommend her to all my friends and family.
Private entry, quiet room, soft bed, welcoming dog, hot tub, outstanding view and a very helpful host.... what more can you ask for! Many thanks Allegra, I'll definitely stay again next time I visit your fine City.
I didn't get to meet Allegra face to face, as I got in pretty late & left early the next day... but, she was very responsive to my inquiries via e-mail / text. Her home is absolutely beautiful and surely a reflection of New Mexico! The room was very private and comfortable. I'd definitly stay again!
Allegra was a great host. I arrived late for a quick overnight stay, but she made it very easy to check in. Really cool spot too, very bohemian. I will definitely be looking her up next time I'm in Albuquerque.
Allegra was awesome. We got there when she wasn't home but she left easy directions and the house was homey. She had a cute dog come a greet us and she spent some time chatting and talking with us while we were there. Would definitely recommend staying there to anyone else, plus the view was awesome!
I live near Albuquerque but needed a relaxing weekend away from home and Allegra's was great for this. It's a small and eccentric room with attached toilet and sink and a wall of mostly windows on one side - wonderful sunshine in the morning. Lots of useful items around, clean, homey and quiet. Allegra was friendly and accommodating and her little dog Foxy was curious but chill. I often felt as though I were staying at my eccentric great aunt's house, but cleaner and less clutter :)
I am a maker, I have a small shop on the property and create many things mostly from wood to sell around town. Just ask, and I'd love to take you on a little tour.
