Situated right off Central and just west of the Rio Grande, this house has a beautiful view of the river, city and mountains. The room has a separate entrance, with a half bath attached. You'll have access to a newly remodeled kitchen, full bathroom and living spaces.
This house has a fun and funky appeal. The vigas in the main house are old telephone poles topped by tongue and groove ceiling, the rest of the house has exposed beam wooden ceiling. The kitchen and living room afford great views. There are many comfortable places inside or out to sit and enjoy a drink, read a book or maybe watch the hot air balloons float by or the geese and cranes fly south.
The bedroom has a separate entrance from the yard. You are welcomed into the main house for bathing, cooking and tv/movie watching.
I may or may not be home during your visit. Please feel free to chat with me if I'm around. If you want a more private experience, I'll be sure to give you space.
The house is right on the edge of the bluff west of the river. There is a great 2 level park about 3 blocks away which is a great place for a walk or run a while enjoying a great view. There is an awesome baja fish taco spot, my favorite New Mexican restaurant and The Monte Carlo Steak House (web search it, it's fun), grocery stores and more all withing a mile of the house. The house is 2 miles from Old Town and 4 miles from downtown and the train station.
There is on and off the street parking as well as a tandem bike or a beach cruiser available for use. The airport is less than 8 miles away, let me know if you'll be flying in and I share my shortest and an most interesting drive from there.
I have a sweet dog who may or may not say hello. Your dog or cat is welcome as long as they get along well with others. There is horse boarding within 5 miles for the cost of about $30 a night.
We drove all day from Flagstaff and were exhausted. The room was an oasis. We were made welcome immediately, we even watched the oscars in time. Room is perfect, shower is amazing!!. The sunrise from the front yard is breathtaking. Amazing value.
Meeting Allegra and Foxy, and staying in their lovely home was a phenomenal experience! I was in town for a conference and I only wish I had not been so busy so that I could have enjoyed the place and the company a bit more. Allegra's place is super cool and welcoming, her art which adorns the place and is evident in the design is incredible. The bed is comfy, and Foxy the dog an additional gracious host :)
I had a wonderful time at Allegra's beautiful home. Allegra is beyond accommodating. She loaned me a bike to travel around the city, provided soothing tea and homemade granola for breakfast, and offered lots of helpful advice for navigating the area. It was fascinating to see her woodwork, and I was happy to buy some of her handmade coasters, which made for a great memento from my trip. Her dog, Foxy, is adorable. The house is beautiful, situated at the top of a hill that overlooks the mountains and city lights. Allegra has created a cozy and inspiring environment with the way she decorates the place. She was a great conversationalist too, but also gave me my space and privacy. The whole experience was wonderful. Allegra sets the bar high for airbnb hosts!
My stay was short but Allegra was very kind and accommodating. Beautiful view.
What a flawless spot. Allegra is the epitome of accommodating and her pup is equally awesome. Enjoy the hot tub and the view, and stop for a breakfast burrito around the corner!
I needed a place for daytime sleeping because I work the night shift at a nearby hospital. Allegra's spare room was wonderful, as it was comfortable and cozy. Her full bathroom has beautiful tiling, and helped me relax before my nursing shift. She makes you feel welcome at home, and she has amazing honey for tea. Thank you Allegra for accommodating my requests and needs for my vampiric sleeping arrangements.
Allegra was super accommodating and hospitable! We made a last minute reservation and she was quick to get back to us and welcomed us even upon our later arrival! The bed was cozy and her house had a fun New Mexico flare :) Make sure you check out her woodwork as well...very cool wooden toys!!
My girlfriend and I decided to stay 3 night in Albuquerque and gave Allegra a shot. She was very fast to reply and extremely accommodating. ... The house is a beautiful example of the homes you find in the area and has an amazing view of the valley below, and the mountains to the east. ... At the time of our arrival, my girlfriend and I were pretty homesick with missing our pets. It was a very welcome and appreciated surprise that Allegra has a cute and friendly dog (Foxy) that would hang with us. ... Location: Great spot for venturing into the city. Giant grocery nearby. ... Altogether a great stay. Could easily charge more for the view and space. ... Allegra is a rewarding experience.
"Room with a View" was a great place to stay. Allegra the hostess is very friendly and accommodating. Her house is homey and full of creative handmade artwork. It was nice to stay with someone who loved dogs and her dog, Foxy was a great companion for my dog.
It was such a pleasure to stay with Allegra! She really made my husband and I feel at home. She was great company, resourceful, funny, and a true joy to be around. I have never felt so comfortable and welcome in a strangers home! The bed was cozy, the house full of incredible art, the bathroom tiling and architecture was beautiful, the hot tub was great, she made us coffee and tea in the morning, her dog was the sweetest, she even invited a few friends over for us to do some fire dancing for. This stop was a breath of fresh air along our cross country road trip. I would recommend this place 100% and we look forward to going back!
