It's hard to overstate how great the neighborhood is. It is very pedestrian and bike friendly. The apartment is within 2-3 blocks of the best local cafe, local bookstore, local videostore, a ton of dining options (including 3 of the best restaurants in Louisville), bars, grocery store, movie theaters, bike shop, vintage goods, and the library. In addition, Cherokee Park is down the street and features hiking & biking trails, golf course, tennis courts, etc.
The apartment is a 5 minute drive (10 minute bike ride) to NuLu (East Market Street), downtown, and the downtown hospital district, and 10-12 minute drive to Churchill Downs. Local buses run regularly along Bardstown Rd, two blocks away. If you want to go further afield, the highway is close by and you can easily get to Bluegrass and/or Bourbon country.

There are no quiet hours, per se, but the Highlands Carriage House Retreat is located in a residential neighborhood, and we ask that you be respectful of our neighbors.
This place was awesome - convenient location, comfortable, and had everything we needed for the week. It's clean, modern-seeming and tastefully decorated, with hardwood floors and simple steel kitchen stuff. There are windows on all sides (with curtains) so it's well lit when you want. Wifi, A/C, ceiling fan, shower, appliances etc all worked perfectly. It made a great office during the day and was close to lots of restaurants etc on Bardstown Rd and with easy access to Cherokee Park which is 3 or 4 blocks away.
My girlfriend and I had a great time at the Highlands Carriage House. The house was perfect for our weekend stay. The place was very clean and had tons of natural light.
The house was the perfect location for us, close to bike trails, restaurants and coffee shops. There was even a little binder with neighborhood recommendations for places in the Highlands which was a nice touch.
Had a fantastic stay in the Highlands Carriage House! Everything was exactly as described / photographed in the listing. Very centrally located and close to Bardstown Rd., Cherokee Park, etc. Would recommend without reservation and hope to be back!
The Highlands Carriage House was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is in a walkable neighborhood with close and easy access to the shops and restaurants on Bardstown Road. We enjoyed thoroughly our stay at the Carriage House and would not hesitate to stay there again. Juliet was a great host and communicated well with us via email.
Always love staying at Juliet's carriage house. Great location and super awesome apartment. Thanks Juliet!
Great experience. The place was very comfortable, private and clean. Juliets instructions were very thorough. Plans went off without a hitch.
Juliet's Highlands carriage House was a great place to stay. The location was perfect and it was decorated very nicely. It was also priced very economically for the area. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
