This historic district was the first city named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is noted for its narrow streets, Spanish colonial architecture and historic attractions. With in this town you can visit places like, Quito Park. Surrounded by trees and gigantic works of art, this park in the centre of Quito has 557 hectares, where you can see more than 70 species of birds and also enjoy a mountain cycle track, camping and picnic sites, soccer, volleyball and basketball fields and a skating track.
We stayed twice and had both units once. Very comfortable and convenient. Pablo was also wonderful and accommodating in helping to arrange transportation with Carlos.
we arrived to Quito in the evening. Mauro kindly followed up with us to find out our itinerary so he could be ready for our arrival. Pablo was waiting for us gave us enough information when we checked in. the apartment is beautiful and has awesome views of Quito. it is close enough to everything you need. Pablo was nice enough to do our laundry and to prepare the hot tub one night of our stay. wish we had more time to use it.
great place, great city, great hosts
Suite La Loma is a beautiful apartment near the heart of Quito's historic district. We stayed for four days while exploring Quito and hiking some of the nearby mountains and it was a great base. The apartment was clean, well-decorated, had all the amenities we needed and the bed was very comfortable. The stereo and collection of CDs was a nice touch and helped us relax at night. The apartment is no more than a five minute walk to Plaza Santo Domingo and maybe ten minutes to Plaza Grande. A cab to La Mariscal takes about 15 minutes and is $5. The views of El Panecillo and Quito Sur are fantastic as well.
We had no problem with the hot water, but we were careful to not turn it up all the way or take extended showers.
The neighborhood is full of convenience stores and pharmacies, and there is a grocery store 5 minutes away. Safety walking about was never an issue, but we were never out late at night.
Mauro was very responsive to all my emails and we had no issues checking in or out.
Keep in mind that Quito is a noisy city no matter where you stay. It didn't bother me, but between traffic and barking dogs, if you are a light sleeper, I would recommend bringing some earplugs.
All in all, we had a great time!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this apartment, and found it to be quite comfortable and spacious. Additionally, it provided a convenient base from which to explore Quito and surrounding areas.
I especially appreciated the fully equipped kitchen in which I could prepare some vegetarian meals, as well as having very good internet connections. An additional plus was that the beds were very comfortable- a very welcomed amenity in our travels ! We would definitely like to stay in this apartment again when in the area.
One minor annoyance at times was the noise of barking dogs in this area.
Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay at Suite La Loma. It is perfectly located to walk to the old town in a safe neighborhood. The apartment is clean and the furniture stylish. I highly recommend this place and the friendly host!
It was off to a great start when Mauro was able to arrange an airport pick-up for me for $30. Since my plane wasn't arriving until 12:45 and the Quito airport is an hour away from the city it was a huge help. The apartment was very clean with a great kitchen. Beautifully furnished, and with an eclectic collection of artworks. The property manager showed me around the place and was very helpful throughout my stay. The apartment is very conveniently located in the old part of town. I was able to walk to the majority of the sites that I visited. The area has uneven cobblestones and sidewalks so if you have some mobility issues you may want to arrange for a driver, and of course you should probably not be walking the streets too late at night, but I had no problems whatsoever. There is a construction site behind the building so if you are a late sleeper you might want to bring some earplugs. Not a problem for me. Overall I feel this listing was 100% accurate and I enjoyed my stay immensely.
Really enjoyed my stay in the apartment in the Centro Historico in Quito. The apartment is not on the busy road but about half a block down the street where it's difficult for traffic to pass. As a result, it's much quieter than other locations. I was told that the area had high crime but that was not evident to me. There was an ample police presence and, for the most part, mostly a working population on their way between school and work. I think the location gives a better perspective on modern Quito, as well as its historical past, than locations in the area known as "Gringolandia" or a major downtown hotel. The apartment was well equipped and the property manager, Pablo, was especially helpful. I look forward to the opportunity to rent there again.
Mauro's place is a gem. It's conveniently located on the southern end of the Old Town, about a 10-minute walk from Plaza Grande. The apartment is nicely laid out, with a living room, bedroom, dining room and kitchen, and would be very comfortable for an extended stay.
The bedroom has a large, comfortable bed and large wardrobe. The decor throughout is artistically eclectic, warm and inviting. The hot tub on the roof is another perk--large and clean, with a nice view at night.
Mauro was easy to reach after we booked and and provided helpful info with getting from the airport, which we greatly appreciated. The caretaker was equally helpful and a nice guy.
This was a great place to start our vacation in the country. My only regret is that we only spent a night here.
We had a wonderful time staying at Suite La Loma. They arranged to have a neighbor pick us up at the airport (reasonable rate) and they were there with our name on a sign, Pablo the manager was waiting when we got there at 12:30am. The upstairs apartment was great with wonderful views and plenty of space. The roof top included a great jacuzzi we used and a sauna we did not. Also a table overlooking the city we took our meals up to. It is a short walk to Plaza Grande and many wonderful attractions. We were there 5 days and had a great time. The manager Pablo was just wonderfully helpful with any questions and his dog Belle was a great buddy while we were there.. We highly recommend this and will come back.

The flat is very well located, was clean and well equipped. It was very easy to walk to the old city, and to take a taxi or a bus.
We did not met the owner, but his assistant looking after the building, who was nice.
To rent the apartment, it is good to know it is somewhat exposed to the noise of the below road (at approx. 300 m.) - and it can get a little cold because windows do not isolate from the wind.
Equipment such as the mini stereo system, or the washing machine are very pleasant.
Overall, staying at Mauro´s place was a good choice for us.
