About 30 minutes by train from the capital of Bern, this is a gorgeous B&B. Anne and Stefan are kind hosts and I loved staying at this beautiful location. With luggage, it is best to get a taxi or kindly ask Anne and Stefan if they are available to pick you up from the train station as it is about a 10-15 minute walk, at times uphill to their home, but when you are not arriving or leaving with luggage the walk to and from the station is totally fine. What a gorgeous, peaceful place! And Anne was very helpful when I also needed to do laundry after about a week and a half into my trip with no clean clothes left. On one rainy day, Anne recommended I take a long (but totally worth it) train ride down to Lugano, the only part of Switzerland that day to have sunshine. It was beautiful and almost like a slice of Italy, similar to Lake Como and everyone spoke Italian. It was a great suggestion! Thank you both so much for your hospitality and recommendations for things to do and places to go.
My husband & I had the best time at Anne & Stefan's BnB in the beautiful town of Speiz. Our room had a walk on balcony where we could enjoy our wine with the most amazing view laid out in front of us, the Swizz Alps, the lake and even a castle! We had two views from our amazing room, the other side had the town of Speiz laid out in front of us with the church bells ringing, the train whistle blowing and para-gliders flying off the mountain in front of us, the town was like a fairy-tale and the BnB far exceeded our expectations. Anne had the best decorating taste and is a woman after my own heart, loved all the antiques and room set up was very romantic. This was part of our honeymoon and we enjoyed every minute of it! Anne was such a lovely hostess and left us chocolate in our room, made the most amazing French breakfasts and was so helpful. We enjoyed her cat and rabbits and seeing her tend to her beautiful garden. We loved swimming in the pool overlooking the mountains and using the hot tub late at night with the twinkly lights of the Spiez in front of us. We hiked to the lake right from the BnB and swam in the most amazing clean waters under the Alps. Spiz and the BnB will always have a place in our hearts. Thank you Anne for making our trip so memorable, memories we'll treasure for a lifetime!

We arrived in Spiez with high expectations - having read the positive reviews of Anne and Stefan's home. These were all met and many more surprises came along the way.
We loved our room with its large balcony overlooking the garden and widely over to Spiez. Thunersee and beyond. The attention to small details was exceptional - so we had little lights, decorations, chocolate, books on the regional towns, and chocolates.
The hosts were welcoming and very lovely - Anne was always flexible with our needs and created lovely breakfasts - often with home-grown produce, peachy fruit salads, little jams and brioche - and much more. Stefan gave his time to tell us about his projects and showed interest in our travels.
The pool looked dreamy, and the hot tub was clearly first rate - it felt as if you are in a sports car, and you experience a little bit of luxury as you step into bath robes and walk back to the room.
The location is a 10-15min walk from the station, which has excellent rail connections to Interlaken and Bern. Anne was kind to pick us up from the station and recommend local restaurants and activities.
Overall the locality is a very romantic and beautiful lakeside community and this BnB, in particular, was the ideal place to spend part of our honeymoon.
We just wish we could have stayed longer.
We absolutely enjoyed staying at Ann and Stefan's house. They have a phenomenal sense of home decoration. Our room had a spectacular view to Spiez, Lake Thun, and mountains. We loved sitting at the terrace. It was lovely to have nice breakfast at the table facing the pool. Ann also graciously offered a breakfast bag when we couldn't eat breakfast at the garden due to our schedule early in the morning. We would definitely visit Ann and Stefan's B & B again if we have a chance to visit Switzerland.
Staying here was complete delight. I can't wait to return and stay again!
My boyfriend and I stayed with Stefan and Anne in the beautiful town of Spiez. Our accommodations were exactly as described, we were surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains and lake. The house was lovely and our room had a great balcony. The pool and hot pot was a fun addition to the house. The hosts were very kind and helpful during our stay! The breakfast that was included was great, yogurt , fresh fruit, coffee and bread. I would highly recommend staying with this family!
We stayed with Anne and Stefan for a couple of days recently. We used their place as a base for visiting Berne but mainly so we could go to Grindlewald and the high mountains. We were upgraded to a better room in their house and the room was gorgeous. There was a great terrace and both evenings we enjoyed the view across the town and lake to the mountains with a glass of wine. The breakfast was delicious. It was very pleasant in their garden.
