About this listing
Lovely queen bed in a bright and cheerful house. One of two rooms the other is a king found at Vermont Bike, Hike and Ski. All part of a beautiful 3 bedroom home tucked into a 30 year old barn. A wonderfully warm and inviting place to read or stay.
A lovely barn built in 1990 as a wood shop and then converted to a lovely home. Warm and inviting no matter what the season. When it is freezing outside the natural light makes it a warm place to sit and just look at the view. When warmer the back porch is a great place to watch the wildlife and sometimes domesticated cattle. If so inclined you can wander to the pond and watch the beavers at work.
Guests will come and go using the front door of the house well hidden behind a barn door. A key will be provided so folks can come and go at will. Under an hour from Middlebury, Dartmouth, Vermont Law School and Norwich.

No requests for reservations will be accepted without a completed profile. I have a nice home and i want people to respect it. It is a non smoking house. I may sometimes have my dog Shadow with me, she is a medium sized dog, very gentle and calm. I have dinner parties from time to time and tend to include anyone who is present. This is a comfortable place that makes all feel very comfortable.
The rooms were really clean. We enjoyed staying in your place. William was very pleasant, helpful, and friendly.
Thank you so much!
William was a great host! He was very friendly and the rooms were very neat and comfortable
I stayed at Bill's home for three nights. This was my second time staying a Bill's home while cycling in the Green mountains.
His home is roomy, comfortable and quiet and a perfect place to relax after a day of cycling, hiking or skiing. Bill is a very welcoming and accommodating host. I highly recommend Bill's place.
I enjoyed Bill's place that I bought my girlfriend back the following week.....
What a great place to stay after a long drive with Bill and his partner Jean welcoming me to their home as if I was an old friend.
Very interesting and witty conversation with a glass of a decent beverage helped me throw off the woes of an arduous journey.
Bill even made a delicious breakfast before I went out backcountry snowboarding for the day....I joined the folks at Rochester Area Ski Trails Assoociation , R.A.S.T.A....a local group doing amazing trail maintenance out in the woods who are definitely worth contacting for biking, ski-ing and hiking.
I'm returning soon with my girl so we can explore some more and relax at Bill's 'country hotel'....
Bill was there to great us when we arrived. The "barn" was charming and is equipped with an impressive library. Bill is definitely knowledgeable about the area and has lots of good stories. We would gladly go back to see the beautiful landscape in daylight and maybe go for a walk.
Bill was an extremely accommodating host, even staying up late just to welcome us to his beautiful home (even with a glass of wine!). Our plans were to ski at SugarBush, and this house offered a perfect location, situated in the beautiful Green Mountains and became a genuinely relaxing retreat after hitting the slopes. Good conversation and great vibes our whole trip. A highly recommended stay!

About the Host, William
Middle aged father of three all of whom have been launched. Have had an interesting and very diverse career that has allowed me to travel and work within Europe and Asia as well as throughout the US. Interests from non traditional farming, optics, high speed manufacturing, all forms of energy, traditional as well as green, carpentry and design. Presently working as a consultant in the photonics business and restoring older Vermont homes. Love to travel and get to know different cultures and people. Prefer b&bs or renting apartments to staying in hotels. I enjoy traveling in Europe where English is not the first language. Figuring out how to get around and then taking in the local architecture which says so much about what is important for me. I love good conversation, good wine, a great cup of coffee, unusual cheeses and breads and i am always trying the local food where ever i travel. Dinner is about having a good conversation and discussing the things that are important in life. I also enjoy just sitting out on the porch watching the stars or the sun setting on the mountains listening to nature.
