Joanie's little cottage was really a great place to spend the night. It's a cute little space, but with plenty of room for my wife and me. The bed, kitchen, shower, etc. were all excellent. It's right near all the downtown Juneau stuff - we walked out for the evening. Joanie stopped by to say 'hi' and it was great to meet such and interesting and friendly person. Thanks again!
My wife and I travelled to Juneau for the Fouth of July weekend. We planned on visiting some of the local sites, going for a hike, sampling the food, and (most importantly) relaxing. We accomplished all of our goals!
The cottage is centrally located in Downtown Juneau with easy access to restaurants, shopping, bars, and attractions. Additionally, the drive to the cottage is super easy, too (once you figure out all the one-way streets).
The amenities were all present as advertised by Joanie. We especially enjoyed the convenience of having our own kitchen, wireless internet and free HBO.
Joanie wasn't in town during our visit, but she ensured we had everything we needed, along with a few coupons to the Baranoff Cafe (awesome sourdough pancakes).
Highlights - 4th of July town parade, Alaskan Brewery tour, Mendenhall Glacier visit, hiking up Mount Roberts and riding the tram back down, MacAulay Salmon Hatchery tour, Alaska State Capitol tour, and watching all the bald eagles near Salmon Creek. Plenty left to discover!
My husband and I stayed for one night in this comfortable cottage. It's a great location and is well set up to make your stay enjoyable while you visit Juneau.
Joanie's place in Juneau was the perfect spot for our introduction to Alaska. The cottage was really comfortable and not attention to detail was forgotten. It was a great space with great food and coffee, and Joanie was a gracious hostess. We had an informative coffee together one morning and her perspective on what to do in the Juneau area was really helpful.
Joni is a great hosts. Friendly and welcoming; leaves you to your own devices but available if needed. We enjoyed our time in Juneau and the time we spent with Joni very much. The cottage is very cosy and within walking distance of the town and great hikes.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage- a fabulous introduction to Juneau and Alaska. Joanie is a truly wonderful host. The cottage was spotless and contained all that we could possibly want for our stay. It is obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into setting up the cottage for visitors. The location is excellent, right in downtown and happily just around the corner from an excellent bakery. It is also very close to coffee shops, the Rainbow market and easy access to amazing hiking trails. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We also stayed in Joanie’s place in Gustavus which was an absolute highlight of the trip. Both are highly recommended.
