About this listing
Lovely house with all the comforts of home (including wireless Internet and big kitchen and dinning room). This includes 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a full finished basement with 2 extra rooms and 1 of the bathrooms. So we try to be very flexible and accommodating.
The hedges are high so the land is private, so private that you would be lucky if you notice my neighbors. Smoking is not allowed inside the house. You can smoke outside.
It is located 14 km from the heart of the 3rd largest city in Denmark (Odense) in Årslev (Aarslev), a very small (less than 4 square miles) town sounded by farmland and forest. It has two banks, 3 grocery stores, fitness center, out door swimming, ...
Aarslev is a 15 minute train ride from Odense Center - or 20 minutes by car and a little longer by bus or bike. If you need I will pick you up and drop you off at the Aarslev train-station (1 mile from the house)
I am an ex-American, now a Dane, and still a great host! In my younger days I was a dancer and then I changed my focus to Chinese Martial Arts. My hobbies include Science (including the social), technology, and philosophy. I have even organized a Christian-Buddhist study group. I love challenging debates on any subject.
Princess (the dog) is very friendly, smart, and playful (she was raised by two cats and to be very social). If you are afraid of dogs she could stay at her second home.
We can even make arrangements for meals.
If you want to bring your pet, it must be house broken. The yard has a low fence attached to the hedge.
Please bring your own lining (sheets, covers and towels). Since I have returned from Hong Kong, I have noticed that most of mine are missing.
If it is not possible for you to bring them I can supply them at an extra fee of 50 DKK to be paid when you arrive.
You can use the kitchen or we can eat together but you must clean up after yourselves.
Charles was a very kind and relaxed host, and welcome for a chat. The house was clean, the room was small but comfy. We felt well at home here and will be glad to come back when we return to Denmark.
I am sorry, pillows are included with the linen and cost extra (50 kr). That was why I asked if you needed linen. I guess I need to make this more clear.
I have to wash after every guess and I have cut my prices almost in half so adding a fee to cover washing the linen was ...
but next time tell me, I thought you were ok.
Charles hat uns herzlich empfangen. Der Aufenthalt bei ihm war super. Vielen Dank!
Charles is a very nice host, he made us feel welcome and even took his time to do some Kung fu training with the children. Nice room with comfortable beds and blackout curtain and access to bath tub. Very weel behaved dog, quiet surroundings and close to Odense city
Charles is a very interesting person. He is smart and open minded. It was a very interesting experience to be his guest and to discuss with him on a wide range of topics! His house is very comfortable, wide and not so far from the center of Odense. Recommended.
We needed two rooms to sleep, close to my parents-in-laws house on Christmas and Charles was so kind to give this possibility though he was abroad himself. We are very grateful for that.
Charles was a wonderful host. Our room was nice and there is ample storage if it's needed. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and also very beautiful. It's about 20 minutes outside of Odense but just a short drive to many attractions. Public transportation is a little far away. Charles' dog princess is very sweet and calmly greeted us when we returned each night. We would definitely recommend staying with Charles.
It was very nice to stay with Charles for 2 days. I went to a dance festival very close, and it was great to have a real bed to sleep in. Charles made sure, that everything was in order, and I'll gladly recommend him to anyone going near Odense. :-)
