Check In
  • This is a clean, secure and sparsely furnished apartment in a neighborhood with all you may need (restaurants, grocery store, drug store, bars). The front door is 40 feet from a train stop so getting around with public transportation is convenient. Located just a few blocks from Loyola University and Lake Michigan, it's a great home base for experiencing city life in Chicago.

  • Joanne was an excellent host. From the beginning she was very helpful and accommodating with my long term stay. She was always available with any questions I had and even checked in with me from time to time to make sure I had everything I needed. The apartment was clean and comfortable and very conveniently located. I would definitely stay there again!

  • I stayed for a week in Joanne's place. The apartment was clean and the building was very quiet. Shower had good water pressure and getting hot water was not an issue. The bed was comfortable. WiFi was available and easy to access. The workout room was great. Better than most hotels I've stayed at and I never ran into anyone else while working out. Didn't get a chance to roam around the nieghborhood but it looked like there was anything you needed. Only remotely negative comment I can make is that parking was a bit challening a couple of nights I was there.

  • Joann was a great host. We needed a place at the last minute, she responded to all our needs quickly. Her home was very convenient to the train, shops, restaurants, and the beach. Had a great weekend. We will gladly stay there again.

  • This is a comfortable, spacious apartment, very convenient to the El and (email hidden)ly area. It has a beautiful new kitchen and decent bathroom, both very clean. But there is only one lamp in the apartment, and since there is no overhead light in the living room or bedroom, this makes life difficult (the lighting in the dining area and kitchen is fine). The carpet is soiled and needs cleaning, and it had not been vacuumed before our arrival. There are only plastic and styrofoam cups--no real glasses or mugs.
That said, Joanne is a lovely host, and once we got around the lighting problem, we really enjoyed our stay.

    Response from Joanne Lee:

The reason for not having to much light in the apartment is to save energy. I do have extra lamps in the apartment. I had communicated to you, as well as, I do to all my guest, that If there is any questions or issues to please let me know. I would have been able to help you with those issues because there were all very quit fix. I recall calling and asking if there was any issues or problems and you said, no. The carpet is deep clean every 6 months and the cleaning lady always vacuums before each guest arrives. Please keep in mind that my carpet is a very light tan colored carpet and sometimes it's hard to remove some stains but I wouldn't describe it as "soiled". I only have plastic and Styrofoam cups in the apartment because I go through a large amount of broken and missing cups. My goal is always to make my guest stay to be as comfortable as possible.

  • What a great space! Joanne is the consummate host - available and professional and helpful even from afar. The apartment is clean and well apportioned and so close to public transport that it made my entire week delightfully easy. The neighborhood is lovely, the building is secure, and the facilities awesome! Would stay here again in an instant!

  • Joanne has been one of the most hospitable host's I've met. Welcoming, helpful, polite and friendly. She has a coffeemaker– and the Haitian coffee was heavenly (and I'm from the Caribbean so we are tough on coffee) what can I say: that alone is already 10 in my book. The apartment *is* as advertised. The keys are the most modern & entertaining I've ever seen (I want a pair now myself). Clean, organized, good daylight and spacious. Close to the El and being myself a future resident of Roger's Park– can't ask for more than this
