If you'd like to get outside and be able to walk around all to yourself, hike miles of trails, explore the creek and waterfalls, we are a great place for just that and your mental health! Enjoy 60 secluded acres where peace & tranquility surround you. We have sparkling clean reviews, disinfect and run an ozone machine between guests. In warmer months enjoy swimming, fishing or lounging by the waters edge on the sandy beach.

The space
All are welcome in our cabin. We welcome ALL guests regardless of race, color, sex, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability, marital status or political affiliations. When you are here, you're our guest and we're so happy to host you! We do however have a minimum age requirement to rent our cabin if an adult is not staying in the cabin with minors.

Please make sure to read through our entire listing- important information about your visit is listed here. We do our best to describe our cabin and property in the most detailed and accurate information to ensure a 5 star positive guest experience. The cabin is nestled in a "Hidden Valley" down a long 1/4 mile steep and winding but beautiful driveway. It is steep and windy with a hillside on one side and a ravine on the other. The driveway is partially paved and also filled with gravel and asphalt grindings as needed for maintenance. If you go slow you will be just fine. If you park in the driveway it is exactly 39 yards (or 117 feet) to walk to the front stoop of the cabin. If this is a concern you are welcome to park directly in front of the cabin door with wide and easy access to pull around and exit. See photos detailing how easy it is to pull up to the cabin door and drive out. Our property and drive resemble places like Hocking Hills or the Mohican State Park area but not as hilly as the mountains of West Virginia! If you are afraid to drive in the rolling hills of places like these, our cabin is not for you. As noted in so many areas of our listing- we also live onsite on the 60 wooded secluded acres. Our home is close by the cabin and can be seen. However- we give you complete privacy. If you are looking to rent a cabin where owners are no where in sight- we are not for you, but here you will find tranquility, peace and be surrounded by nature and wildlife on 60 acres. The cottage sits just feet away from the naturally spring fed pond which keeps it looking crystal clear and is great for swimming or fishing. The sandy beach offers a great place to lounge by the waters edge. We also stock it with bluegill, bass, catfish and crappie- a throwback rule applies. The cottage is an open floor plan so the beds are in a "common space" with no bedrooms or doors but the large bathroom is private. The cabin has a wonderful large stone fireplace inside & outside on the screened porch, bonfire pit, full kitchen, Dish Network Satellite, Flat Screen Smart TV, Blu Ray DVD, wireless speakers, cellphone charging stations, movies, board games & Wifi.

Well behaved dogs are welcome. Maximum is 2. Pet fee is $25 per pet per stay. Please notify us if bringing a pet when making your reservation so that we can make arrangements with you for the pet fee. Airbnb does not have a way to add the fee on the reservation. You can either leave the fee behind in the cabin or we have to send a money request after your departure. Pets must be crated if left alone in the cabin. Pet waste is to be picked up, and pets must be on a leash and never left alone in cabin unless crated. Note we have a couple of very friendly outdoor cats that roam the 60 acres. They generally stay by our home, but if your pet would endanger them, please find other arrangements for your dogs.

We have many things to do- hike the miles and miles of groomed trails, geocaching, gold panning- yes we have all the supplies- and YES- guests have found gold! Take a hike to the enchanted forest where fairies live in trees, or spend some time at the 14' tall cross in a peaceful meadow. Kids can have fun at the "Dig Zone" sifting for arrowheads- (we buy arrowheads in bulk and will secretly give them to you to hide in the dirt). Please let us know at booking if you wish to do any of these activities so that we can be ready for you.

Play the longtime running and popular "Dollar Game" inside the cottage. Be sure to check the guest book for the clue that the last guest has left on where to find the dollar & now there are OVER THIRTY different dollars hidden inside the cottage! You have to read the clue, then find the dollar, then re-hide for the next guest and leave a clever clue inside the guest book. It's always a hit with young and old alike!

A self check in time is anytime 3pm or after. Check out is promptly by 10 am. We do need time in between guests to prepare so an early check in or a late check out cannot be accommodated. Please respect our check in and check out times. We strive to maintain a 5 star guest experience and the time in between guests is much needed to clean and prepare for the perfect stay! If your departure is after 11:00, a $ 50 late check out fee applies. If check out is after 1:00 pm, half the nightly rate will be charged to your account.

The Cottage is a short drive to Corporate businesses like; LUK, The Village Network, Planet Fitness, Daisy, GoJo, Certified Angus Beef, College of Wooster, Ohio State University, ATI, Smith Dairy, Wooster Community Hospital, J.M. Smucker Company, Artiflex, Buehler's, Wooster Brush Company, Frito Lay, JLG Industries, Quality Castings, Gerber Poultry, United Titanium, Seaman Corp, Akron Brass, and more!

Additional charges for visiting day guests. No parties or events without prior approval. Please ask us before if you plan on having any visiting day guests as this is crucial for our insurance liability, any guests not listed on the reservation will be asked to leave. Guests are an additional $5 per person per day and welcome until 10 pm, after 10 pm an overnight charge applies.

Guest access
You have the entire 60 acres to explore- you'll have pond access, and the Little Killbuck Creek with several natural waterfalls to enjoy. We also live in the valley and our home is nearby and can be seen from the cottage. We give you complete privacy but are available should you need anything! We want your stay to be unforgettable and if there is anything we can do to make it extra special- please ask!

Other things to note
We provide everything- just bring food and toiletries, hiking shoes that can get wet, firewood, beach towels and fishing gear. We can do the grocery shopping for you if you like. Winter Months- please note if we have significant snow a 4WD vehicle is the best and sometimes only option to get in & out. If temperatures are below 10 degrees, the cabin is too cold for comfort unless you plan on keeping a fire going, If below 0, we don't recommend booking the cabin.

If you are bringing a pet- you must notify us when making the reservation. Pets are $25 per pet per stay an never to be left alone in the cabin unless in a crate, no exceptions. We have had a problem with pets and children pushing through the screens on the back porch. Damage to the screens will be a $150 charge.

You are totally secluded on 60 acres- with the exception of the owners. We also live in the valley, and our home is visible from the cottage.

My Husband Jeff and I opened our cabin in 2008. The cabin itself was actually an original pioneer log cabin. The fireplace is original, but the cabin had to be torn down and it was rebuilt in the 1950's. The property has been in my husbands family for 3 generations, once all of our children were grown, we decided that this place was too beautiful not to share with others! We'd love to have you stay in this "Little Piece of Heaven". We are also happy to host weddings, receptions, graduation parties or reunions. Please inquire for event pricing.
