Beach view

Guests say the views are lovely.
If you are looking for a clean and comfy home at the beach for you, your family, your friends, your pup - then you have found the right place! You've got beach access with this sunny home. Make forever memories - whether it is with your friends and family, or just you and your honey - wake up at the coast and take a morning, noon, or evening stroll along the beach.

The space
Nesika Beach is a one-level home with an unused basement (see photos for floorplan of main floor). Wrap-around windows provide some peeks of the ocean from the main part of the house, and from the master bedroom and nook area.

Note: our new neighbors to the west have developed their lot next door, and there is occasional interior construction activity, for a large, two-story home. We have added a drone shot from November 2024. The west end of our driveway where it intersects with our road has been disturbed and needs new gravel (but does not affect our access). Our exterior and view pictures from inside and around the house are out-of-date because of the build, and most of the trees/shrubs to the west have been removed. Please ask if questions!

A short and "secret" trail at the end of our private road provides beach access for our guests via a locked gate. Please note: trail is a grass/dirt/sand foot path with a dozen steps at the end to reach the beach. The small creek north of our beach steps usually stays to the north, but sometimes the channel will shift south, which means walking along the base of the bluff to the south for a bit if you don't want to get your feel wet. Ask if questions!

Make sure you bring along a windbreaker jacket on your visit to the Oregon Coast - north coast or south coast - the wind can start to blow in the late morning and afternoon. Though, early mornings and evenings seem to almost always be calm. Waterproof shoes or boots are also nice if you want to keep your feet dry on the beach, otherwise sandals/watersocks or beach footwear work well.

NOTE FOR WINTER MONTHS: Please, guests who are not familiar with the Oregon Coast, be careful when on the beach during winter months because the waves can come all the way up to the base of the bluff, especially during high tides! Eyes on the ocean! Be safe!

Guest access
Guests have access to the main floor of the house. (The basement and garage are not used, and no one else is on the property.) Guests must climb a few stairs to access the lockbox and entries to the house. Sleeping areas: Master bedroom has queen bed, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom. Second bedroom has a queen bed and closet. Living room has a queen sleeper couch. Nook has a futon couch that can convert to a large single bed.

Other things to note
House is dog-friendly (no other pets allowed) with a non-refundable pet fee of $50 per stay (2 dog maximum). We ask that you make sure your pet is a well-behaved guest, with no damages/dog hair/stains/odors/dog potties to, in, or around the house and house contents. Please be sure to leash your dog while walking down the road and path to the beach. Because Nesika Beach is located in a natural setting, we suggest you treat your pet prior to arrival to keep any pesky critters away that might want to hitch a ride home with you on your beloved furkid. And, please be sure to let us know about your pets prior to your arrival because pets who are not pre-approved and pre-paid will result in an additional charges.

Out of respect for other guests who may have allergies, please try to keep dogs on the floor and off of furniture and beds, but if you must, please make sure to use the pet towels and blankets as a cover if your pet is on any of the furniture.

We are on a septic system, only toilet paper (and human waste) may be flushed.

Where I went to school: U of Nevada-Reno & Eastern Oregon Univ
My work: Hydrologist/Industry
We are married for 25+ years and parents to three. We like spending time outdoors and have spent most of our years together camping and hiking around Oregon - especially when our kiddos were small fry. Jaime works in Operations, and Nora has worked as a Hydrologist for 25+ years in and around Oregon. We met after Nora moved to Portland from the Coast Range because she was tired of pumping the well down every time she took a shower. Our first date was a hike on Beacon Rock in the Columbia River Gorge in about a foot of snow, and we married six years later - same date, same day.
