Interaction with guests
Erica will be here during your stay, she's a music teacher who works from home often. Jorel travels for work and is here part time. We are busy with work and pursuing artistic projects but are happy to help you understand the city! You can text, call, or email us anytime. Depending on what you're looking to experience, Erica or Jorel will have recommendations.
There is a backyard with a fire pit/BBQ with access through Jorel or Erica's rooms. We'll be happy to let you out there when we're home, just ask, or you can join us when we're BBQ-ing!
We highly recommend shooting us an email to tell us when you are hoping to stay with us, and we can give you an immediate idea of all the possibilities. Plus the third room could always be available if Jorel is going away so write to us anytime to say hello, and we'll answer any questions.
A flourishing artist community has existed in Bushwick for decades and has now become one of the most lively art communities in New York City. Dozens of art studios and galleries are scattered throughout the neighborhood along with countless music venues, bars and restaurants. There are several open studios programs that help the public visit artist studios and galleries and a number of websites dedicated to promoting neighborhood art and events.

Bushwick Starr Theater
Free tour of neighborhood murals via Bushwick Art Collective.
Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos
House of Yes (Beautiful performance space featuring areal burlesque, music and art)
The Chop BBQ
Heavy Woods Cajun/bar
Secret Project Robot

The Cobra Club
Momo Shushi Shack

Again...Yes, the L train is conveniently located ON OUR BLOCK.
The train makes commuting very easy into other neighborhoods:
- 8-10 minutes by train from heart of Williamsburg, 5 minute walk to the border.
- 13 minutes to the East Village, 19 minutes to West Village.
- 14 minutes to Union Square (Holiday Market and shopping)
-25 minutes to Chelsea Market and The High Line.
- 35 minutes to Rockefeller Center (ice skating, christmas tree)
35 minutes to Soho, Little Italy, Lower East Side and Chinatown.
-35-40 minutes to Times Square and Broadway Theater District.
- 40 minutes to Central Park.
- Subway: Take the ACE line and transfer to the L train.
- Mass transit is tricky, we suggest a fairly inexpensive yellowcab ride (about $30 with tip, depending on traffic) to our place.
This is the furthest airport, about an hour away and approximately $95 by taxi and an hour and a half public transport. Take the Newark Airport Express Bus to Port Authority Station in Manhattan. Transfer to the MTA Subway A/C/E Line Towards Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd/World Trade Center to 14th Steet/Union Square Stop. Transfer to the L line towards Carnasie-Rockaway Parkway to the Jefferson Stop. Follow signs in station to the Starr Street Exit. Walk south or down in numbers 1/2 block on the Left.
Other things to note
We do have 2 cats that mostly stay in Erica's room unless you woo them into yours, you're welcome to invite them!
The Rental rooms don't have any pets in them unless you specifically invite them in, so you most likely won't even know they are here.
There is lots of free street parking in our area, one of the best neighborhoods for parking in NYC!
There are several cafes, restaurants and bars right on our block as well as a 24 hour gormet and health food store around the corner and a 24 hour supermarket/grocery store a block and a half away. It's convenient for essentials and entertainment while still being a quiet and peaceful area relative to Manhattan and Williamsburg.
• Check-in time is 3PM.
• Check out time is 11AM.
Please be respectful of other guests and roommates by being quiet at night after 10pm, both in your room and especially in the common area. Keep use of kitchen to a minimum (grabbing a glass of water or something from the fridge) after 10pm as there may be jet lagged guests sleeping or roommates that have to wake up early for work! You can shower anytime as the bathroom is far enough from bedrooms.
If there are no other guests or roommates around, you can bend these rule!
We ask that you leave your shoes by the front door inside the apartment. We like to keep in nice and clean and comfy!
Make yourself at home, use our fully stocked kitchen and bathroom and clean up after using any of these shared areas! Please clean hair out of the shower after using it. Wipe up water on the floor. Leave shower curtain extended/closed to prevent mildew.
We like to make sure it's always nice and clean for the next person!
We are two artists living in Bushwick Brooklyn.
