Cons: clean studio with a nice bathroom and kitchen, parking was easy, extra towels and blanket was really helpful
Pros: you will wake up with the scary voice of garbage truck beside your bed at 7am, expect a very professional approach from landlord (she didnt even have a conversation with us or tried to help in case we needed any assistance in city), I also realized that there are many same quality studios closer to the beach in same price range
I stayed at this garden studio for ten days, and I have both positive and negative things to say about the stay.
What I loved about this studio was the location. It's close enough that it took me about 20 minutes to walk to the beach, and it's a step away from Montana Ave which I loved. The studio is also located on a beautiful street. I felt safe, yet it was still walking distance to everything I needed.
I found the photos to be misleading. The studio looks nicer and more modern in photos than it does in person, so I was a little underwhelmed with that. One thing I loved about the property was the cute, colourful backyard. Having said that, the description claims that it's private, but it's shared with the home on the property (they don't come over and use your outdoor furniture or anything, but it's all one open backyard). This meant that we had a dog, which wasn't mentioned (I love dogs, but I think this should be stated for future guests) coming to our backyard, and the owners of the house on the property are essentially sharing a backyard with you.
Lastly, the description claims that there is a bike available for rent, but when I asked for it after purchasing the studio, I was informed that it was unavailable.
Terri was a great host, and I have nothing negative to say about my experience with her. She gave thorough instructions before my arrival, and was quick to respond when I was in touch with her.
It's a great studio with everything one might need (even a laundry machine is only 2 footsteps from the door) and a well-equipped kitchen for basic cooking. The bed was very comfy and the studio was very clean. We would definitely come back here!
The space was set back off the road in a quiet section of town. Very cozy. There was an adequate number of towels, blankets, and even some coffee and Fiji water set out. Internet connection was great, too. Would recommend.
My daughter and I stayed at Terri's lovely garden studio for 4 nights. We had a great experience and would most definitely return! The studio is cozy, clean, stylishly furnished and had all the amenities that made for a most comfortable stay (we especially appreciated the toiletries and European-style bed linens). Terri was a great host, and we appreciated the opportunity of an early check-in. Thank you for a lovely stay in Santa Monica.
Terri was easy to get in touch with, and she was very conscientious about making sure that I was situated and comfortable. As far as the later is concerned, her worries need be few given the set-up of the Garden Studio. It is furnished beautifully. It's quiet. And, for my purposes, the location was unbeatable. I highly recommend Terri's Garden Studio and would travel to Santa Monica again if for no other reason other than to get to stay there!
An amazing spot, convenient to all! Unlike most of Los Angeles, this lovely studio has the benefit of being centrally located in Santa Monica. What that means? Long walks toward gorgeous beach sunsets with a stop at Whole Foods for a bottle of wine and some cheese along the way. Terri made us feel welcome. A truly lovely time.
